  1. Hey there 1 john 3:1, for what it is worth --- some of us (as in *I*, *me*, and *myself*), Don't believe Jesus is God; Do speak in tongues (taught to do so by Catholic Pentecostals); Wonder how anyone can dismiss *administrations*; Can't understand how one can't see the differentiation in usages of Holy Spirit; BUT --- By the same token -- I never *fixated* on that when I've looked at John's site. The main point I saw there (and still do), is docvic's flagrant use of other's works, while claiming them as his own. Maybe you don't see that, maybe you do. Either way is cool, as it's a matter of perspective. I have mine, you have yours. Dr. Juedes has offered the world an invaluable service (imo), by eliminating the smoke and mirrors that twi used to mask legitimacy. What he believes personally as far as doctrine goes, is one thing. The facts he has presented about 1st, 2nd, 3rd edition books (put out by twi), is another matter entirely, when compared with original authors. Anyone can spout doctrine (myself included). Not many can offer FACTS (as he has) that debunk authorship. I prefer to see that aspect of his site, and hold in abeyance the doctrinal aspect. But that's just me.
  2. :) I got a 5 in musical; 4 in social; and 3.86 in self. (Guess it's time to work on the *self* aspect, eh??) ;) (I won't discuss the math aspect!!!)
  3. I love this site. One learns more here by accident, than elsewhere by design!! :)
  4. Questiion -- if I may?? What is DCFS??
  5. This post is the epitome of what (most) of us are trying to say. Thank you Shaz!! :)

Hiya Dooj. Yup -- tickets could be donated to the company. The company (DRCC) that runs this house (and about 35 others), would make them available to whomever (on a first come first served basis). Nother words -- you would donate them to the company, and NOT to specific clients. Overall -- they would be enjoyed (I'm sure), but you would have no idea if the tickets got to the folks you might have intended it for. The system sucks in certain ways, but is a viable system in others. Protection of the vulnerable adults is always at the forefront of companies like mine, because even though there are many GOOD folks out there (You, I, Cindy!, and many others), there are always those out there looking to take advantage of the clients, and sadly ---- it is because of those folks that the rules that be are now in place

Thank you Cindy!, but no it wouldn't. *My guys* can receive gifts, money, etc., from family members only. Even as a staff member there at the house, I can't *donate* to them. Even though I do buy them things (from time to time), it's all under the table. They *make* about 92 bucks a month from Social Services for personal needs. Any other incoming cash would hamper even that little bit that they realize monthly, if it didn't follow the stringent guidlines that they are under. :( But thanks for the offer, regardless. :)

Larry the Cable Guy was here in town about a month ago. A couple of the clients at the group home wanted to go see him, but the cheapest ticket was $65.00. Too expensive for them, as well as for myself! Richard Jeni is one of the funniest I've ever seen on stage. There's many good ones out there, but RJ's delivery was best, bar none. :) (may he RIP) --- :(
  9. Where would we be, without the butterfly here at GSC?? It is YOU!!! :)
  10. Where's the lamsa translation, when we really need it??
  11. metaphor n. A figure of speech in which a word or phrase that ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another, thus making an implicit comparison, as in “a sea of troubles” or “All the world's a stage” (Shakespeare). One thing conceived as representing another; a symbol: “Hollywood has always been an irresistible, prefabricated metaphor for the crass, the materialistic, the shallow, and the craven” (Neal Gabler). simile n. A figure of speech in which two essentially unlike things are compared, often in a phrase introduced by like or as, as in “How like the winter hath my absence been” or “So are you to my thoughts as food to life” (Shakespeare).

  14. For my comment --- please see post number 51, in the Avitar thread. :)
  15. Chas will (most likely) stick around. :) I apologized via PM about my comment in post #36 . As I said to her -- my comment about the speeling of avitar was less signifikant, than my comment to Polar Bear about my lack of picking ability (these days). I was told that that was understood, yet that there were others who (maliciously) correct others. To which I agreed. Yes -- it can be done with love and grace, or malevolence. I posted this in the *About the Way* forum --- God bless LG, may he rest in peace. I remain forever in his debt, for taking the time to correct me when it was a bothersome thing to him. I guess there is a fine line between being Police, and offering friendly advice.
  16. Odd. I don't have it either. The closest thing to the left of the refresh buttons is the color key.
  17. Dooj -- what browser are you using?? Firefox has it built in, and just underlined your name as a mis-spelling! (EFT)
  18. Gotta love them there *public minded* Emergency Service* folks!!
  19. Thank you. :) For what you have done, not just for this post.
