"A bluegrass band without a banjo is merely 4 guys on a stage --- futilely trying to make sense of life, as seen from their limited perspective." (Ron Thomason) -
Gathering snow from the gas pumps to make sno-cones??? ;)

It's been about 23 or so years for me. So forgive me for forgetting. What was in session #7 ??? (I could look for, and pull out my syllabus, but I'm feeling lazy tonight!) :)

You Know It's Hot In Minney-soda (when) --- Norwegian bachelors take off the long johns in July. The *snow emergency* kit in the trunk of your car is replaced by a cooler. Wool knit hats are replaced with baseball caps. Norwegians and Swedes think the weather is hotter than their disputes. Long sleeved flannel shirts are repaced by t-shirts. You go to the mall for the air-conditioning, not shopping. You have air conditioning in your car and a remote to start the AC, and actually use both features. And you REALLY know it's hot in Minney-soda when you see --- A Swede, a Norwegian, AND a Finlander sitting on the same bench, because there's a tree behind them that offers them all some shade. :P

I first heard that joke as a Priest, a Rabbi, and a Baptist minister out fishing. The Priest (Irish) wanted *a drop of the pure*, so he got out of the boat, and walked over the water to shore where the bottle of whiskey was. Then the Rabbi decided he wanted some wine, so he got out of the boat, and walked over the water to shore where the bottle of wine was. By now the Baptist minister was squirming, seeing them on shore drinking. As a Baptist, he wasn't supposed to drink at all, but he knew there was a six pack of cold beer there on shore. So he decides to join them, gets out of the boat, and drowns. The Priest turned to the Rabbi and said ----- "We should have told him where the rocks were". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ However -- the twi version shows the bone-headed adulation and glorification of docvic. "Rocks?? We don't need no stinkin' rocks! Docvic walks on water without them!" Twi could screw up a wet dream given THEIR interpretation of things. They can't leave a anything alone. They have to tamper and meddle with it, so that it fits like a foot in the mouth. I thought the joke to be funny, but then again ------ I READ IT IN THE ORIGINAL!!!!

I think GreasyTech fixed it so you don't have to have 500 posts any more, but I could be mistaken about that. Btw --- GSGeorge --- Thanks!!!

Well --that's great. That's your opinion and you're welcome to it. :) I'll not try to convince you otherwise, even though I believe differently. After having been on this site for (uhmmmmmmm) about 4 years now, I've done some radical changing in my own thinking on a variety of topics, and the ONE THING I have REALLY learned here is ------ other's opinions/ beliefs are important to those that hold them. Mine are mine, theirs are theirs. Mine aren't the *best* simply because I happen to hold them. Other folks hold *equally valid* opinions as well, even though they may differ from mine. So -- I offered the links I did so that you could see first hand what CES/STF teaches. I hope you didn't think I was trying to prosyletize or anything -- cause I wasn't. :)

CES operates several web-sites. One is social, and two are *informational*. If you want to know exactly what they teach --- go to: TRUTH OR TRADITION, and/ or; BIBLICAL UNITARIAN. The *social* website (CES now calls itself Spirit and Truth Fellowship) is at: SPIRIT AND TRUTH FELLOWSHIP. Hope that helps. :)

Hey there. :) Welcome to GSC. If you have questions about the way (twi), or CES, you have come to the right place. Not all answers will be pleasant, but you will get honest answers from those who have been through the ups and downs and aren't afraid to talk about it. If you want to understand more about twi and it's offshoots, you've come to the right place. We may be *rough around the edges*, but at least we have *edges*. :) Welcome, and I hope you post, as well as peruse. ;) David

Ya know?? From my humble vantage point -- this is a moot discussion. Unto what shall I liken this? Hmmmmmm. I shall liken this unto two museums, both dedicated to guitars. One dedicated to acoustic guitars, and the other dedicated to electric guitars. The acoustic folks will certainly claim they are more *pure*, and the original species. Their museum focuses on that, and any critics thereof be damned. The electric folks will claim they *evolved* from the original, and thus are better. Their museum focuses on that, and any critics thereof be damned. Two sides to EVERY opinion (regardless of topic). Neither side will convince the other. So give it up (already). Both have museums --- trot out your best *proof*. Both sides have the *right* to their own museums. Personally --- I lean towards acoustic guitars, and not electric. But I don't *diss* electric guitars (or a museum for them). Nor would I *diss* them for doing so, even though I consider them an abomination. Sorry --- Socks, and all others on the guitar thread!! (This is an analogy, a Parable if you will!!) Others have the right to say what they think, regardless of recrimination from the opposing camp.. So ---- if you don't like the new *museum*, fine. Say so, and be done with it. It's a sad commentary on whomever that decides to criticize those who do choose to advocate the museum of their choice. But then again --- this is GSC. Perhaps the rules are different, eh??

Isn't this where the term *poop deck* originated???

Hey there Walking, howdy. I hadn't heard of Aspen guitars before. Looked them up and it seems they've gone out of business. I looked around for info, and like you found little on the company. I did find THIS PAGE that had reviews, but maybe you've seen it before. Sounds like you have a keeper. Definitely looks good too! Need to get ready to go to work now. Good luck on the nut and saddle thing. :)
