    LEAD

Sooooo --- should they have taken their backpacks/ traveling bags/ whatever/ out ot the truck as well??? Just wondering. Skyrider told a story that totally contradicts what you're saying here, about lcm and his trip. I guess the lcm incident must of happened earlier, eh? Or else (perhaps) lcm didn't hear the *directive* from RT. Who the heck was RT anyway?? What did he have to do with LEAD??? Was he a *somebody* that lcm might have listened to about this *non-separation* thing, or was he a later lackey of lcm and docvic who thought they could do no evil, see no evil, etc.?? The ARROGANCE of the top leader$h!t dictating to the *lowest common denominator* (i.e. --- read corps and other believers), is (now) astounding to me, given all the CRAP they managed to pawn off on us, get away with it, and we bought it hook, line, and sinker. Docvic shoulda been told to stick out his thumb whenever he wanted to go *bless the believers*, in say -- Indiana. (I'm gonna make this easier for him than he did for others). How willing do you think he would've been to take Dotsie on the road, and hop in a strange truck? She probably had more sense than he did, and would have refused. Shucks -- she probably woulda told him that was a dangerous way to travel. Just because some BOZO (RT or whomever) mandated a law/ guideline about LEAD --- doesn't amount to a hill of beans when it comes down to individual responsibility, when someone is *out on the field*. My opinion about Hdqtrs and their *directives??? --- Nuff said.

    Speed Dating

Speed dating sounds like the *fast track* for men to get the --- *Honey do* list handed to them (especially on week-ends). "Honey -- do this. Honey -- do that" If you could learn if the person has *Honey do* on their plate within that time frame --- it just might be worthwhile to know whom to ignore!! ;)
  5. Meebe a GreaseSpot T-shirt??? Nawwwww. Meebe NOT!!
  6. TempleLady -- can you give an example of a link that DIDN'T work for you??

    LEAD

Jonny --your question is answered already in THE LEAD ACCIDENT -- WHAT HAPPENED?. I realize it's some 37 pages long, but you asked the (somewhat) same question (somewhere in the middle of it all), and got your answer. Peruse the link. :)

    LEAD

Yeppers -- that it is. Howsomever (is that a real word??), real life doesn't have a *MOG* dictating to the folks involved in it as to what they should do (regardless of past experiences that have been proven to be FAULTY), and then continuing in those FAULTY practices (in that particular experience) like twi did. My take on it?? They (twi) saw a cheap way to get corps from point A to point B. Give them 10 or 20 bucks, put them by the side of the highway, and tell them to stick out their thumb, get their *needs and wants* parallel, and believe for a trucker with red drapes in his sleeper-cab to pick them up. And then ask for the money back -- when you returned. What a buncha B (as in *B*), and S (as in *S*). With all the abs money rolling in -- they coulda flown the folks to the LEAD locale, and never noticed the difference. Too busy buying Drambuie to want to spend the money elsewhere, I guess. I can (honestly) see their point in trying it ONCE (since they pushed that FAKE LAW OF BELIEVING on the unsuspecting folks that we all were back then) -- but Dooj/ Excie/ and Waysider nailed it. THE MINUTE problems arose -- the hitch-hiking thing should of been cancelled. But would Hdqtrs even consider it?? Is a bear Catholic?? Does the Pope $h!t in the woods? Of course they wouldn't consider doing anything but the same old, same old. And folks got hurt. Twi was on a power trip (as usual), with NO consideration for those involved. Safety for *their own* didn't seem to be a major issue with them did it, eh? The Love of God for the *Family* seemed to stop at the pocketbook. So -- Jonny -- PLEASE don't compare twi to the real world anymore. It's the ultimate oxymoron.
  11. Yes. It is accurate. Suspicion is healthy --- but in this case it's unfounded and not neccesary. :)

    LEAD

Well --- for what it's worth -- I had a good time at LEAD as well. But I wasn't corps. It was an *open session* for those in the South Dakota area who had a hankering to attend. Being nearby (here in Minney-soda), I signed up for it. That was 1985. May of 1985 to be more exact. Chri$ (Mr. Gestapo-Personified) Gr@nl!ch was the area leader at the time, and he encouraged us all to *do the deed*. Well -- I signed up, paid the money, and (for once) he was pleased with me for my decision. He was LESS pleased -- when he realized that I was going to DRIVE my car there (at that time a Datsun station wagon *wow-mobile*, rather than hitch-hike). I got read the riot act by him, but I just didn't give a sh!t about what he thought. I told him to *stuff it*, in so many words, since I was going through a divorce at the same time -- and I thought it a good time to be alone on the road --- and ruminate. Next thing I know -- He calls me, and wants to know if I can give *XYZ* person a ride there. "Hey --- He's on your route, and since you're driving , can you give him a ride?" I told him (Chr!$) --- no FFFF'n way! I needed time to myself, and didn't want a part of anyone else's life there for that road trip. I had my own stuff to deal with -- and open road helps me do that. I didn't need someone riding shotgun at that point and time of my life. I'll make a long story short -- I got to South Dakota, Rapid City (Black Hills -- where this was all taking place), and did the LEAD thing. Ironic --- I remember a man named Kevin there at LEAD. Dunno if he was the same as mentioned here. Perhaps he was. Anyhoo -- he put Chr!$ in his place, when Chr!$ dared to suggest that HIS *twig* (us fom Minney-soda) -- be all in the same group, tents, etc. Kevin did an admirable job of *blasting* Chr!$ for daring to think that he was in control --- when in fact he wasn't. There's more to this story -- but it will have to wait. :)

  19. Good concept. ;) This site has been labeled as a *pi$$-and-moan* site, given all that has been said about twi here. Well, for what it's worth -- sure. I'll agree that's been done. But I will also (adamantly) say that everything that has been said here (in the *accusation* department) has been done so by folks that have had the personal experiences and are *credible*. Thanks for seeing it as it is. There's a buncha years of *CRAP* foisted on the folks who chose to *follow*. Some got in deeper than others. Some were involved less deeply. And that involves the many decades that twi spun the web of deceit thast entangled all of us. And that deceit always changed (with the years) to ensure that new recruits were forthcoming. I'm guessing that there might be a new *standard* of credibility, these days. Sadly. :( :(
  20. Exwaycorps --- Good post. :) (And I mean that). The ONLY thing you said that I would ask you to look at is one word -- And that word is *credible*. Not trying to be argumentative here -- but you've got (docvic's word for it) a MULIPLICITY of experiences all here on one site that we call GreaseSpot Cafe. You've got twi #1, #2, & #3 all posting together about the same outfit. There's folks still in and there's others just recently out, and then there are the not-so-old-timers, and then you have the old-timers. Everyone's *personal view* of credibility here depends on how deeply they were or were not involved. I'm a good example of that. I'm from the twi 1 era ---- but my viewpoints of *credibility* are DRASTICALLY different than those from the same time frame. I'd never compare docvic to hitler, but then again (with my experience), I've no need to. Some here can compare him to Satan personified, and get away with it, because of what was done to them by that man. (Loy is included too -- in both my observations). *Credible* (while a valid observation on your point), takes on MANY facets and dimensions here at GSC. We're delving through 60+ years of BS foisted on the *believers* from various leaders who have decided that they now know *present truth*, that wasn't *available* previously. So --- I say this honestly and am not trying to read you any sort of *riot act*. But when someone here says something for public observation about their past twi experience --- it's an *orthotomeo* (Bullinger) rightly dividing by them of what SHOULD have been the Word of Truth --- but sadly wasn't. It was the *Org* instead, who needs to be called into question. And given the individual sources -- yes. It's credible. Stuff gets posted here that other folks register on the site just so they can respond. Respond and say --- that happened to me as well. Naming names, years and dates, geographical locations --- that sort of thing. Given the Melting Pot some of us know as GreaseSpot Cafe --- it's all pretty much good --- and everything is CREDIBLE. Having been there (and a part of twi, at whatever point in time) --- we can say what we do -- with authority. :) edited to add -- (and a part of twi, at whatever point in time). It does add validity, credibility, and makes a difference, eh? ;)
  21. I once heard it said by Rodney Dillard (a famous picker whom most of you have probably never heard of): That --- "Bob Dylan's singing sounds like a dog with it's hind leg caught in a barbed wire fence." Now --- THAT'S an analogy! (Sorry WhiteDove -- that's always been one of my favorite quotes!)
  22. The one(s) on his nose in the avatar, or his post?? ;) (Sowwy -- couldn't resist!!)
  23. The more I took pfal, the more I learned. For instance --- 1.) I learned that you better NOT be late: (helpful later on in life for job interviews). 2.) I learned the class instructor was ALWAYS right: (helpful with biting my tongue when in disagreement with my boss at work). 3.) I learned to NEVER offer an unsolicited (or independant opinon): (Refer back to number 2). 4.) I learned that positives are ALWAYS better than negatives: (helpful knowledge when I FINALLY had a decent bank account). 5.) I learned that I was welcome as long as I didn't dissent with *party doctrine*: (another helpful hint for the later *pathways of life* -- job or otherwise). 6.) I found out that my *worth* to them was directly proportionate to the folks I *recruited*: (which helped me find a REAL job, and SHUN tele-marketing). 7.) I learned *money is everything*, since they wanted so much of my paycheck: (after I started paying MYSELF first, and ignoring them -- I see they were right). Sure I got a few things out of pfal (spiritually speaking), and though it took a few years for the above 7 to come into fruition -- those points above really are a lot of what I got out of pfal, twi, and the 10 or so years I was in. It was more like a lesson in life, rather than the biblical teaching aspect which they touted so much. Twi spoke so loudly by their actions, it was hard to hear the words, eh?  (P.S. --- Welcome to GreaseSpot Cafe!! In all seriousness -- glad to have you.)
  24. Is that leather bible cover on one of those wide-margin bibles they sold in the bookstore?? ;)
