    Guitar Talk

Hey there Out There. :) I've got a couple of digital tuners. The clip on tuners are good for when (and if) you are on stage. If you hear a string that's a bit off -- you can check it right then and there (if it's clipped on). Being a clip on -- none of the sound coming from any of the other instruments will affect the tuning. (This is good in jam sessions too when others are playing all around you). I've got a Korg chromatic tuner (model CA-30) which I carry in the fiddle case. You can get this for less than 20 bucks, and it's a very good one. (ACTUAL SIZE) You can get this contact microphone (sometimes called a tuner *roach clip*) for about 12 bucks that plugs into the jack down there where it says INPUT. With the cord -- it acts the same way as a clip on tuner does. It allows the tuner to bypass any sound interference in the room, and allows the tuner to *focus* on the one string you are wanting to tune. This is the main tuner I use (with the clip when in jam sessions) I also have one of the Intellitouch clip on tuners, but it isn't as good as the CA-30 with the *roach clip* attachment. Hope that helps. :) (EFS)
  2. Open post to all the docvic apologists ----- Your experiences may differ from mine and other's (in twi). BUT because they didn't happen to YOU, doesn't mean they didn't happen to me (or others). You DON'T need to know who I (or others) real name is, to evaluate what (my or others) PERSONAL EXPERIENCE is. Many of us have been here for YEARS --- so evaluate the posts made, scrutinize the content posted, and you will see that there are -- no strangers at GreaseSpot Cafe. There is a commonality. Posts are CONSISTENT with the given poster -- (same info, over and over), and that by the same posters. Anonymous names (over the years), here on this site --- have become friends with others, and (also) with a verifiable history, because posters here are CONSISTENTLY posting the same info. True names and phone numbers have been exchanged. IF --- you take the Word of God at FACE VALUE (personal experiences of men/ folks you have NEVER MET), and BELIEVE THAT WITHOUT FAULT --- you're believing words on a written page. What's the difference with cyber-space?? Not GOD-BREATHED enough for you???? Oh -- scuse the H outta me -- Simon and Schuster didn't publish it??? Can't find it in a Barne's and Noble Bookstore?? So when a sister here tells a story that has impacted her life GREATLY (here at GSC about twi, docvic, lcm, etc.), it's discounted as so much TRASH ????????? (No witnesses -- eh?? -- So it's *unbelievable* -- or at least *suspect*). Perhaps if a major publishing company picked up the story you MIGHT believe it? Sorry --- (No -- I'm NOT -- but I'm saying that for form's sake) --- You folks that are quibbling and debating *definitions* about situations used in OTHER'S posts, while DENIGRATING the women who have put their entire soul out here on the line for the advancement of other women, men, & children of twi who have sufferred EVIL at the hands of those who were supposed to be Godly, Loving, Biblical, Comforting; (are---IMO) Doing an EVIL DEED. May God have mercy on (ALL) our souls. (I started this thread so that the women who have so BRAVELY come forward to say what they did be recognized on post 1, and NOT lost in a multi-page thread -- such as the one is, that is now going on *What I Learned In pfal*.) This was written to no one in particular, even though I have a few posters in mind. So while I am a fan of the Word ---That's a bunch of *posts* by folks from a past era. If you believe them as true experiences --- (first hand accounts of what happened back then), you're a sorry bunch to criticize what is being said today, given what you think about what was said previously by *prophets of old*. If you think *first-hand accounts* were valid then, it's axiomatic that you you think the same today. This will be my only post on this thread. I really don't care about any responses I might get. I had to get that off my chest. No matter how right you think you *righteous ones* are --- there always seems to be someone *more right* than you. Think that through -- just once. Please. (Edited For Spelling) EFS.
  3. Another Dan --- you made a pretty good post yourself a page or so back! ;)
  4. Rosestoyou --- Welcome to GreaseSpot Cafe. :) May I offer you the first cup of coffee??
  5. (I put some pics of it in the prayer thread that Rocky started). NOT a fun day around Minney-soda. Purt near everyone in the state has been over that bridge at least once.
  6. Dunno if I qualify as a *bitterness freak*, but I can answer part of your question. Given the new board we are on now (thanks to Paw's diligence in keeping this site updated), it is no longer possible to do the *conference calls* (via pm), such as Mike did a coupla years ago. I know that for a fact -- cause I was on several. :) And -- (if I might add --- ) IF THIS WERE A PRO-PFAL site, sure --meebe we would be the outsiders, and if such a *conference discussion* (like what happened before) were available, it would avail us to use it to hide from the *positive people*. I guess one has to adequately define *positive*. Positive to you, might be a negative to me. Positive to me, might be a negative to you. (one man's trash is another man's treasure --- yada yada). What I see here is the status of the board GSC. It is a site dedicated to telling the truth about twi, what happened, how it impacted, ruined, and changed lives forever. Yes (I'll toss out a cookie crumb here) --- I had good times while in. BUT WHEN I READ OF THE HORRENDOUS TREATMENT that faithful followers suffered at the hands of those who were LEADERS, involved in and perpetuating drugging and rape of teen-age women -- I have to ask myself ---- WHAT SANE PERSON WOULD CONDONE THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOUR??? (caps for BOTH shouting, as well as emphasis). Actions speak louder than words. Twi spoke most efficaciously --- without saying a word at all. :( (EFS)
  7. And I (for one) would vote for him to do so because ---- She has a leg to stand on making a statement like that in the context of this thread. You don't.

    Texas BBQ

That would be November 3rd and 4th. Ex10 -- are those the dates??? :)
  9. I agree with you Rocky, and I don't. :) As far as the smoking ban in bars and restaurants goes --- I have a problem with it being legislated to folks who own their own business. They own the building, they pay the property taxes, they pay the high fees for having a liquor license, they hire folks to check ID's so there are no underaged drinkers in their bar, (in other words) they are doing their best to follow the law --- and then they are told that no one is permitted to smoke there?? It's their place. It's their paycheck, place of business, whatever you want to call it. They should be calling the shots there, not the *smoking police*. When I see the folks who want to eradicate smoking paying all the bills that These folks pay, then (perhaps) I'll grant them some latitude in saying what should or should not be done within the walls of a legitimate business. There were several bars and restaurants here in town that built a THRIVING business -- because they were smoke free. Now that has been denied to them as well. They were no longer *unique* -- and lost a lot of customers as a result. 'Nother words (at least here in Duluth and I suspect this isn't the only town), there's diverse enough of a society that OPTIONS are offered for smoking or non-smoking. It's my (humble) opinion, that the shop owner should be allowed to run his business as he sees fit. If it's a business (i.e. -- let's say a bar/ restaurant), and they allow smoking there --- You don't have to go in if you object to smoking because ---- there's other places in town that DON'T allow it. Go there instead. I agree with Groucho entirely on this one. I'm thinking that the next thing is we will be told what we can or cannot do in our own homes. It's a scary thought -- but NOT so far-fetched -- given what is happening already.

  12. I guess I would differentiate between having a good time AT twig; versus having a good time WITH the twig -- at other *worldly* functions. :)
  13. I THINK (emphasis on the word *think*), that Waysider has it right. There was one teaching of an AC that was used for a SNS way-back-when: and this might've been it. I know I've got it here at the house. Meebe I'll look for it after all. ;)
  14. Can't attest to the latter claims about Kroc, but about the Crock docvic claimed -------- I do remember hearing he *received heavy rev* for a fast food joint. He mentioned it to Uncle Harry, and NOW (since it was spoken aloud), da debbil had access to it, took it, and ran with it. Once it was in the *senses* world, and now no longer *private revelation*, da debbil had access to it and could utilize the revelation that he wouldn't've had access to, if it hadn't been spoken aloud. Do I believe it?? No. Did I then??? Probably. and I'll add a disclaimer if I may ----- ;) I really DON'T remember where I heard this. It coulda been at one of my trips to hdqtrs (so would be on a SNS teaching --- and I'm too lazy to look for something SOOO insignificant). Or it coulda been someone else who told the story. I really don't remember which, but yes --- I heard (at least part of that) as well. (I wonder if docvic had *supersizing* in that revelation as well??)
  15. For those who don't get The Sower -- here's most of the quote from it. (quoted from page 21, Jul/Aug 2007 issue): Important Announcement The Servant Conference has been Postponed (quote)You may be aware that in the past year there has been a serious disagreement among the Board of Directors concerning the direction and leadership of our ministry. We had hoped that these issues would be settled by now, but that is not the case. Traditionally, our fall Servant Conference is where we unify around our vision for this ministry. However, in light of the yet unsettled differences, we believe it is inappropriate to continue with our plans for the September Servant Conference this year. We are therefore postponing our Servant Conference until such time as the Board issues are resolved. We very much appreciate your understanding concerning this change, and your prayers for us. (end quote)
