  1. I heard the story once (true or not -- I haven't a clue), about a liquor store owner. He got *saved* and decided all (liquid) spirits were evil. He decided to sell his building, but was going to break every bottle in it before he did. He didn't want to pass on those *evil spirits* that he now considered harmful. He was finally convinced to NOT do that, and just sell his business intact. What convinced him was the reasoning that folks are gonna drink, regardless. And while that story (true or not) may have nothing to do with this discussion --- the principle is the same. Folks are going to find a way to *indulge*, one way or another. Act2 (or anyone) who sells twi stuff to be rid of it aren't guilty of maliciously passing along error to unsuspecting folks. There's a willing crowd out there looking for what we don't want anymore. (Just like the liquor store owner, and the stock he had on his shelves). The folks who buy this stuff aren't *newbies* -- but I guess you knew that, eh?? The old saying still holds true ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "ONE MAN'S TRASH IS ANOTHER MAN'S TREASURE" I think it's gonna be that way until Christ comes back -- because we won't have any *trash* from THAT experience. :)
  2. go to http://www.talkshoe.com at 5 pm eastern then. Since Paw and John will be doing the show at that time, you should see GreaseSpot Radio listed on the first page. Or (if it isn't there on the first page), look in the upper right hand corner. There's a box that says *keyword or talkcast ID* (it's a search box). Type in the number 30770 and hit *enter*. 30770 is the ID number for GSC. You're given the option of listening only, or participating as well. Click the *listen only* button, and you can hear it. (*Listen only* is also available on the first page). Hope this helps. :)
  3. :offtopic: Johnny Winter just got off stage here (about) 4 hours ago. I had to work -- and missed the concert. :(

I'm sure the bridges will be fine. :) Anytime driving (long distance), is a fine time. You're out there alone with your thoughts, the CD player, the AM/FM radio, the C.B radio, the cassette player, the silence, or just the hum of your tires at high speeds, or watching the radar detector for *incoming interference*. (whichever of the above one chooses), Nother words -- You have a chance to think about LIFE -- and perhaps inter-act as well. I've driven over 700 miles once, just THINKING about things. Nothing else. The open road ahead of you beckons, and invites contemplation. I have also driven that same 700 miles listening to Sam Pruyn's tape, over, and over, and over, and over. I've done em all out on the byways and highways. NO greater pleasure than connecting with the *audience*, of those out on the same piece of concrete I'm on. You meet the nicest folks on the CB radio, and some real *interesting* jerks (Kinda like GSC). ;) And truck-stops ---- I've had more interesting conversations with truckers at various *watering holes* where we were waiting for *our* kind of coffee to brew, so we could each fill up our thermos', and then hit the road again--to our own destinations, than I've had elseswhere. So -- Don't worry. :) (Wait -- meebe you should!!) I contracted for a load of PINEAPPLE headed your way!!

Actually -- I was just *funning* y'all. I-35 starts (or ends) depending on where you start, or end your trip at. Duluth, or Texas. Coming down (your way) from Duluth, I-35 splits into two right before the Twin Cities. One way goes west (Minneapolis), and the other goes east (through St. Paul). I-35W (going through Minneapolis), and I-35E (going through St. Paul). Same highway -- but with two different Interstate designations. While the I-35W bridge over the Mississippi has collapsed, the I-35E bridge is (knock on wood), still intact. So -- I can't take I-35W, since there's no bridge over the Mighty Mississip. But --- the I-35E bridge is still intact, if I go through St. Paul, instead of Minneapolis. Both the I-35 Interstates cross the mighty Mississip. The St. Paul bridge is (I believe) the older of the two. So --- Yes. I think I can find a way. :) (getting out the CG tape that teaches about walking on water, by practising on puddles!!) Just might come in handy, eh??

This is part of the route Tom and MapQuest told me to take. Here's hoping it get's rebuilt in time. I'd hate to miss some good eats, for lack of concrete. :)
  8. Ha! It'll be *grounded* come winter time, with the ice and all. ;) Regardless -- Congrats! (No debt -- now you can call NK with a FREE conscience again!)
  9. I like GET BACK much better, (but that's an imo.) :) (edited for spacing)
  10. Galen is the resident *Beekeeper*. Perhaps he could answer half of your question.:)
  11. He might be here as JAKE, instead of George. :)
  12. Hey there Larry. :) I'm not a Mod -- but this subject has come up before. The posting populace of GSC has been told by SEVERAL Mods, (including Paw -- if I recollect correct) --- that the answer is NO.

Hey there Krys. :) Good question. I was wondering the same thing. Take a look at the wording in their logo. One would think that these guys would be a *prime* lawsuit target by twi.
  15. Mmmmmm! I'm getting HUNGRY reading this thread!
  16. Hey there Accurateisrealite. :) Welcome to GreaseSpot Cafe. I've got both fond (and sour memories) of my WOW year, back in '78 - '79. But -- you do make a good point about moving. No *comfort zones* to fall back on, eh? Same thing for me too. ;) By the way -- first cup of coffee here at the Cafe is on me. :) (Sorry -- no sugar or cream from me. I like coffee *pollutant free*!!)
  17. Hey there Chef. :) Did you want to talk, or just listen??
  18. SQUIRREL HEADS AND GRAVY is a GREAT old tyme fiddle tune. :) (We used to do this one all the time at our Thursday night jams, but if kinda went by the wayside as we constantly learned other tunes.) (edited to add -- the sound quality isn't the best on this video.)
  19. HA!! I remember that! The *popular saying* then was ---- "Oral to Heaven, in '87". ;)
  20. Hmmmm. Or save it for the BBQ. ;)
  21. Dooj reads the Old Testament --- (for your learning!!) 2Ch 19:9 And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart. :)
  22. Larry (obviously) is ignorant about Dooj"s cooking. ;) The ONLY thing she lacks, is pineapple on pizza with Canadian Bacon. Other than that -- all other chefs -- move over!!
  23. Hmmmmmm. Let me think a minute here. A farm for sale. Acreage. *Out buildings*. If I could think up a new doctrine to pawn --- It would be a perfect new site for a cult. (But I don't have 8 million --- )
