  1. When others had *opportunities* (financial, physical, whatever), I was asked to *believe* for their deliverance. Whenever someone wanted corps sponsorship and came to me for it, I was asked to *believe* (along with a monthly donation), for them. I had no problem praying for them, but praying equaled *believing*, in the world of twi and all mogdom involved back then. While I did (back then) say I'd pray and *believe* for them, what I really wanted to say (but was under twi constraints to NOT say was), GOOD LUCK!! Sadly -- that wasn't *available*. :( *Believing* was definately a term used out of context. With dire consequences.
  2. Supply The Missing Vowels This starts out easy, and becomes more difficult. 25 Qstns -- nd n n wrd nswr wth vwls. (25 Questions -- and no one word answer with vowels) Y nd t spply thm!! (You need to supply them). Gd lck!! (Good luck!)
  3. Because --- when Paul said what he did --- The folks he was writing to (speaking to) ALREADY spoke in tongues. He wasn't leading them into it by any stretch of the imagination. That's the difference. :)
  4. A week from today (Sept. 19th) is the 10 year anniversary of his fatal accident. 9 days previous to that, he sat down at a piano in an abandoned church, with an old battery powered cassette recorder, and played nine songs into it. That cassette was discovered after his death, and the Jesus Album (with Rich Mullins and the Ragamuffin Band), came into being. He was one of a kind.
  5. HA! You did better than I did, Rhino. I got 8 out of 10, and the ones I missed were two of the more *easy* ones. :( It got easier for me, once more letters were involved. Woops -- You too, Geo! (We were posting at the same time).
  6. Hey there Mike. :) I'm not a Sherlock Holmes wanna-be, and I'm not sure where you were going with that post, but SIT is SIT. To heck with fluency. If one believes in it -- it is a God given thing. If one doesn't believe in it -- it's a bunch of malarky. Either way (believing or not believing in it), fluency (as if it can be determined), doesn't enter into the picture --- unless you (or anyone) wants to impose man's *values* on something that God made available for mankind. If you believe SIT is a bunch of malarky -- you're spared the *mental anguish* of "grading fluency". If you believe SIT is of God ------ you're spared the *mental anguish* of "grading fluency". If you're from twi (and yea -- I *ginosko* this all too well), you're "graded" from the git-go, and the curve system doesn't apply. IMHO -- you either speak, or you don't. You interpret, or you don't. Fluency has nothing to do with it. If it does -- it's a man made concept applied to spiritual matters, and has no place in the *discussion* whatsoever.
  7. Form one word from the first and last letters ;)
  8. How's about a Kilt?? ;)
  9. I use that line in my sig on a different site. (Got the idea from Raf). ;) "Preach the Gospel every day. Use words when necessary". Francis of Assisi It makes sense to me.
  10. I agree he SAID that. (I'll leave it to you to draw the inference I'm making, and *logical conclusion* of NOT listening to docvic.)
  11. And thank you for your many contributions that you've freely offered; ON THIS SITE Here's hoping your day is/ was a good one!!
  12. There's all those pics of docvic (in the Way rag) teaching a twig somewhere. As *teacher* of the twig, I'll bet (just an IMO), that he called on others to do the duty, and never did it himself. Would anyone here feel comfortable having docvic in YOUR twig, with you leading, you teaching, and calling on docvic to manifest??? But that would never happen. He might've allowed you to lead the songs, but that's about the extent of THAT scenario (IMO)!! And while I'm at it (not meaning to derail or anything) --- How-can-one-determine-fluency-of-tongues-of-men-or-angels??? If you can claim to be able to tell that one is FLUENT in SIT & Interp., then you MUST have heard a language you are familiar with. (Yes? No?? What say the *fluency experts* here?) How many here have actually heard a language known to them??? And if you don't know it, how can you say whether it is a language of men, or angels --since you don't know it. And ------------------------------>>>>>> If you don't know it, how can you determine if someone else is proficient or not??? Jest thinking through some things I should have thought of 20 years ago.
  13. Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood!
  14. http://alanbecker.deviantart.com/art/Anima...mation-34244097 Turn on the speakers. This one is a hoot!!
  15. Hey there Sky. :) Oak is agnostic, Geo is atheist, and; I've never been politically correct!
  16. Here's a few pages, where the *LAW* (of believing) has been discussed before.
  17. Yup! Initially I didn't. (But) --I think I mighta-kinda-mentioned in a previous post, that it was a welcome thing when I received it!! Your reply is revealing also. ;)
  18. Hey there Larry, thanks for answering. :) I'll answer the question first. I still have that little strip of film. It's in a picture frame (under glass) along with two pieces of dove down (from one of the doves that docvic released), that ending up landing on his shoulder back at at AC 79, along with an unused ticket for TAKIT when they played in Minneapolis on Friday March 27, 1979. So -- I'm a pack-rat. :) (But it's not hanging on a wall in my house). It's in my collection of *twi memorabilia*, in the basement here. Collecting dust, but I'm still loathe to get rid of things like that. Now -- your paragraph where you said ---- That makes sense (from a twi point of view), but it isn't practical, given what they practiced. Twi did indeed teach that *all things came from God*, NOT an org, such as twi. However (I don't know what year it started, but start it did) --- twi started defining what was and what was not, from God. 'Nother words -- they wrote the rule book, and no arguements allowed. Sure --- PFAL said one thing (I'll agree with that), but what was being taught to the rank and file was something totally different. (IMO). Twi (whenever) decided to *dictate* to "believers" what they could (or could not) believe for. Face-meltings became commonplace, people were humiliated, lives were ruined, honest ministries were tossed aside like so much garbage, etc., etc. All because of the overwhelming desire to DICTATE by the org. Sure -- the class said nice things, some things believable (even). Big F-nn deal. What they SAID, and what they PRACTICED were worlds apart. They taught one thing, and expected something totally different. (NOT new news to the folks here). So -- I agree with you that they taught that (unexpected blessings) came from God, but by the same token, they chose to define those attributes, and expected us to believe it as gospel. And as far as the *Law of Believing* CRAP -- They disproved their OWN THEORY, when they sent me that film strip. It negated EVERY-D***-THING-THEY-TAUGHT-ABOUT-BELIEVING. I have no arguement with you. You asked, I answered. Just my imo, pov, and any other set of initials that might apply. :)
  19. I'm all ears. Enlighten me --- please! ;) (P.S. -- post if you wish, or not as you wish.) I won't be back here until (perhaps) 8 PM tomorrow evening. A small thing called my *Day job*. ;)
  20. Dooj tells me I don't know Pizza toppings either. Hahahahahahahaha! (like I believe THAT!!!) ;)
  21. Eyes -- no -- more like *see some sunshine for once*. (To put it politely). :)
