Sure -- It's possible, --- but HIGHLY UNLIKELY!! ;)

I'm gonna weigh in here -- and all Y'all can like it or lump it. (your choice, eh?) Ces folks DID NOT start this forum. Paw did, with the intial thread from Captain Crunch. Given the correct questions/ observations he had about what was happening (then) --- this forum was formed to alleviate disruption from the ABOUT THE WAY forum. Personally --- these days, I think that CES is lacking in response to the questions posed. But so what??? It's their prerogative to post (or not), just as it is yours or mine. Their bed has been chosen. Let them lie in it. Hope it's comfy. They don't owe us a dam* thing, since most here don't follow them, and once they DO post here -- most will criticize. and especially since most here (imo) make false accusations every chance they get, because twi is in the back of their minds, and that's equated to CES, (rightly?, wrongly? -- you be the judge). It's a good thing to ask for answers. Answers have NOT been forthcoming from CES. But if yer not willing to pick up the phone and ask in person (as I have), don't expect an answer on a public website. As I said -- like it or lump it. The choice is up to you. Personally --- I haven't gotten answers from questions I asked quite a few months ago. I would NEVER expect to see them addressed on this site here. (Posts here by me, about this subject, have been met with deafening silence) Thus (portions) of my previous post. They ain't a'gonna answer here. I'll personally call Ripley's Believe It Or Not, if they do.

Didn't docvic used to like to walk around nekkid too???

I rate it (about) 60% to 75% accurate. :) (Answer to number 4 question --- my number was a 4 digit one. I don't know that many to send an e-mail to, nor would I do so.) Some of the other answers were provocative, though.

Wood?? You need firewood? We've got more here than you can shake a stick at!! I've got a small trunk (no pun intended) in my car, but I could bring some down. I put in for my time off (3 weeks in a row -- 15 working days total), over a week ago. It's still not *approved* yet, but several of those days have been spoken for already, so it's looking promising, if not downright good! (Still needs to be *approved* though).

Count me out. GNFC what that is all about.

Should VPW's Name Be Removed from The Genesis Pursuit?
dmiller replied to Eagle's topic in About The Way
Hi Stephen. David here. :) Tough question. It really is. I'll try to lay out some thoughts here, and you can sift out the chaff you might find. I keep your book in my car -- because I tend to drive to places to read, getting away from the computer (to state parks, North Shore of Lake Superior, etc.). If I'm in the house (these days), there's too many *interruptions* to plain old reading. Lately -- I need to get out of the house to peruse a good book! I've yet to read it from front to back. I skip around as the mood hits me. I've probably read the whole thing by now, but don't test me on it!! :P One thing I did notice -- the docvic connection to a lot of your chapters, which you're asking about now. For whom did you write this book?? Mainstream folks, general public, or ex-wayfers? A lot of folks (mainstream denominations) haven't heard of 4 crucified, 6 denials, etc. (That's just my imo -- since I don't know it for a fact, but have been questioned by the same, whenever I mentioned things like that.) Honestly -- (imo) keeping docvic's name in there relegates your book to refuting what he taught, and separates your book from the *masses* of others. However -- keeping his name in there stikes a point with the folks who bought into his doctrine. To whom do you want to target your *message* to?? Docvic supporters will immediately know who taught what you're discussing. (With or without the name attached). Those who have never heard of docvic, will wonder "Who is this guy??" Like I said -- that's a tough question. If you want to get a lot of folks looking at your thesis -- meebe just put docvic in the footnotes, and let your discussion of the various topics be out there for folks to peruse, as something that was taught somewhere, and believed by many. I don't often agree with twi folk (these days), however --- If you're looking for this book to reach a WIDE audience, it might be better to relegate docvic's name to footnotes. Again -- just my humble imo. I know what I used to believe, and as I read what you have researched, it makes me glad I have a moustache. Gives me something to chew on, while reading!! (Good luck with your editing!!!) David -
Jonny -- that there reminds me of a true stow-ry ;) (I think I told this on the Guitar Thread -- but if I did, it's buried by now). Friend of mine (name of Mark B. and an EXCELLENT fiddler here in the area), was asked to sit in with a visiting (famous) band to do Irish and Celtic music. (I forget what happened to their fiddle player, but they needed a replacement for the gig.) Anyhoo -- The gig was a good one, pay was great, but there was one stipulation --- Mark HAD to wear a kilt on stage, since that is what the other band members wore. Nother words --- no kilt, no gig for him. Like I said -- the bucks for the 2 or 3 hours were big, and after hemming and hawing --- Mark gave in to seeing his bank account fattened considerably, and wore the kilt. So -- fast forward to the actual performance. In a totally unrehearsed moment, on stage in front of hundreds of folks ---one of the band members (knowing of Mark's original aversion to wearing the kilt), spoke directly into a microphone and asked -- "So. Mark I see we got ya to wear the kilt. Can ya tell the kind audience here what is worn underneath it??". Mark is pretty good with spontaneous come-backs, so without blinking an eye he replied -- "Actually, nothing is worn beneath the kilt. It's all in PERFECT WORKING ORDER!" He brought down the house with that line.

Waysider -- They've got their site locked up tighter than a chastity belt. They don't need to *believe*. They have lawyers doing that for them now. Lawyers -- operating under LAW, and not grace! (but -- you knew that already! Eh?) ;)
-
With poor circulation, clothing is not optional. The main question here is ------------- >>> Should I wear long-johns, or not?? :o :D :o
-
Yea Dot -- they've had that there for some time now. Ironic --- looks like a scroll I saw in a Messianic Jewish church I used to go to. Represents the Torah (law), and for The Wannabe Imitators (twi) to use that icon under their *terms and conditions* is pretty contadictory --- since we're suppozzed to be under grace and not law, eh?? But perhaps the OT is no longer just for our learning now, eh?? Shifting sand. Changing a teaching to suit the *present greed*. SSDD. (Shifting Sand, Different Docvic).

Yes. (Although he doesn't use the *monicker* Cougar anymore). :)

Hiya Oak! :) Hey -- do you have a link to the specific topic at Family Tables??? The link you posted (at least for me) goes to the home page only. Thanks! David

I thought about buying a bottle of Drambuie, and renting a motorcoach. Sadly --- the liquor stores are closed here in Minney-soda on Sundays; and A motorcoach is way-the-hell-too-expensive-to-rent-for-a-day! (Sigh!!) What's an ex-wafer to do, eh???

Aw Shucks!!!! There's a bit of the soft spot in my heart for young un's learning! I've gone round after round with folks who want to buy *cheap* for their kids (or themselves), until they are convinced that one (or the other) is serious about learning the instrument. BOTTOM LINE IS --- the CHEAPER the instrument, the HARDER it will be to play and get excited about future picking. Sure --- ya might save a coupla hundred bucks (initially) , but the emotional and physical toll it takes on a person STRUGGLING to try to make it sound right (when they are JUST beginning), does more damage, than it does good. Cheap IS NOT GOOD for a beginner, regardless of musical inclinations. Never has been, never will be. If one is going to get *inspired* by an instrument they want to aspire to, it has to be able to treat the student kindly -- giving good tone, easy play-ability, and no nonesense *tricks up the sleeve* (if ya know what I mean). Kinda like a teacher might offer. The instrument HAS to be *forgiving*, and offer it's best for the student to want to even think about continuing. A cheap instrument is like a lousy teacher. No matter how much you want to learn -- neither will enhance your playing. I'm glad to hear your son got something decent. *Cheap* doesn't neccesarily referr to price, eh? Sounds like the guitar he has has a lotta quality notes in it. Here's hoping he finds ALL of them. :)

Hey!!! Congrats!! Good to hear some still stay together. ;) Hearing you say that, reminded me of ,(in a perverse sorta way!!!) Many more happy returns to ya!!
-
Dusting??? Cleaning??? Washing windows??? Who's got time to do chores like that, when there's instruments begging to be picked? Priorities. They come FIRST -- don't cha ya know!! I've got *dust bunnies* here from a decade or two ago. We co-exist peacefully. I don't disturb them, they don't disturb me. :) Don't worry about it, eh?? Anyone p!sses and moans about cleanliness -- hand em a dust rag!!

Hey --- congrats on the 30 years!!!! Since you know who he is -- click on the screen name. It'll tell you when he was last active here. Of course -- if it was recently, it sounds like an M&A job. :(

Ok -- you go to the beach to swim and enjoy the day. You haven't been to the beach for a while, and this is the first time, in a long time, you've appeared in public wearing a swim suit. Wearing a swim suit reveals who you REALLY are in your day to day life ---- by the tan lines that are exposing your *true self*:

I think one of your southern relatives was here the other day, Mr. H. He came from Alabama, with that banjo on his knee. (He musta heard there was some good pickin's up here!) :P :P
-
If that were a banjo head instead of an engine head, I might be able to help out more. :)
-
Well -- Congrats to her for sure!! You all must be VERY proud! ) (Hey ---- is this the same daughter who had that LITTLE CAMPUS ADVENTURE that you told us about before??) ;)

Good looking house there, 2life. :)
