  1. Hmmmm. My turn, eh?? "What'll you do when you get lonely And nobody's waiting by your side?" ;)
  2. Shucks -- I saw the first post yesterday, and can't believe anyone hasn't answered yet!! "Some Girls Do" -- by Sawyer Brown. (Must not be any *country* fans here) "Some girls don't like boys like me; Awwwww ----- but some girls do!!"
  3. It's by a famous group, it's a famous song, and --------------->>>>>> I deliberately chose one that WASN'T bluegrass, so you all could get it!
  4. Woops -- I just saw this thread and haven't followed it at all. I guess it's up to me to provide a first line from a new tune, eh??? OK -- here it is ------------------------- >>>>>>>>>>>> "She would never say where she came from". :)
  5. That says it all, in a nutshell!! :)
  6. Waysider -- ya wanna hear a REALLY sad story??? Back in the early 70's, I had an *A* model mandolin that said Gibson at the top of it. But -- the word *Gibson* was straight on the peghead, and not at a slant like you normally see. I bought the thing for (maybe) 100 or 150 bucks. I was pretty much convinced it was a fake -- since the word Gibson wasn't "slanted". Upshot of it is -- I traded the thing for a 12-string guitar worth (asking price) 500 bucks. Turns out the mandolin was not only an original 1930's model, but highly sought after, and now highly collectible, and is worth many thousands of dollars with no questions asked. :( Yea -- dumb things we did in our youth. I hear that loud and clear.
  7. Hey there Simon. I meant to put the word *probably* in the title of the thread, but must've spaced it out, and we can't edit titles of threads here. Interesting what you said about the *before and after* approach to concept cars. I never knew that. Makes sense though that one at the beginning of a generation of models would be more valuable, than one made in the latter years of one that's already been in production. Yup, he's from here. Actually -- he used to be my boss. He owned a carpet and tile contracting company that I worked for. He wasn't the world's best boss, but perhaps he's mellowed out since he retired. I worked for him back about 15 or so years ago. Every once in a while he would come to work in one of his T-birds, and they were a sight to see. So it could very well have been him that contacted you. He was always on the prowl for a new T-bird to work on, and I've heard him discussing purchases of one's that needed restoring before. I figured he was getting the cars locally, not nationally. Whatever -- I wish him luck in his sale. We have cable tv with the speed channel at work. Everyone at the group home is interested in seeing how much this sells for, so we'll be tuned in and watching Jan. 19th (I think it is).
  8. Hey there Tom. I hear you about the *originality* aspect. There's one pic I didn't post yet. Here's a pic of the interior when he got it, and it's all in red. Wouldn't the interior color more aptly be the original, rather than the body color?? I don't know, so that's why I'm asking! What say ye, eh?? ;)
  9. This is for those who might be interested in *classic cars*. A (truly) one of a kind car. There were no others made, except for this one. Here's the story -- from the local paper here -------- >>> Here's some pics of it --- Rear view (promo pic) of it today --->>> when he got it --- >>> After he restored it --- >>>

    For Jonny Lingo

Thought you might enjoy this. (But you've probably seen this guy before, eh??) Sweet Daddy D And then there is --- Bubba J Disclaimer ----- >>>>> some words used here that can't be typed on GSC, without being *moderated*, or *filtered*. Just saying, for those reading this here. ;)
  13. Parts of that are debateable (sp?) -- but still -- it takes two to tango. Just saying.

    Song of the moment

ANDY LEFTWICH (on fiddle), and JIM MILLS (on banjo). Ricky does a good job of singing and picking -- but these two MAKE the band (imo). :B)

    Messiah

My .02 cents worth??? (And I've yet to click a link here ---) If ya can't listen to music and enjoy it -- without micro-scrutinizing the *theology* behind it -- A Psychiatrist might be in your immediate future. :) Not condemning, but just saying. I can listen to a choir singing in a concert hall, or a bunch of *plain folks* swatting out a bluegrass tune on a front porch somewhere, and the thought of *where are they coming from*, never crosses my mind. I'm there to listen to the music. And THAT is what is being offered. Try that approach. You might like it. :)
  16. Shucks. And how about those plumbers -- who have to work (even on Christmas), or they don't get paid?? What songs might they be humming?? (All said *tongue-in-cheek of course!!) "Eight Days A Leak" "Last Drain to Clarksville" "Plungers in the Night" "If I Only had a Drain" "I'm Singin in the Drain" "Classical Gas" "Day Dripper" "Skip to my Loo" "I Can't Believe That Urine Love With Me" "Poop and Circumstance" "Fifty Ways to Leave Your Plunger" "Sani Flush is Coming To Town" :spy:
  17. It's going to be Lutefisk for my guys at the group home. They all chose it -- and we are ordering it from a local restaurant. We refuse to cook that *stuff* (ie --- read CRAP) anymore in the house there.. It stinks like you wouldn't believe, and these guys actually eat that *stuff*!!

    Guitar Talk

I was replying to a friend on another board, who has a sig line of: The old gray matter ain't what it used to be, Ain't what it used to be, Ain't what it used to be. I went to YouTube to find the *Old Gray Mare* to post in deference to her play on words, and found this gem in there instead. The name of the group was Lez Karski, and the Nervous Investors. With a name like that -- I just HAD to click on it!! I'm not much of a blues kinda guy -- but even this I, IV, V rendition got my attention. :)

    resurfacing

I've heard that name before -- but Florian Chmielewski is the *Polka King* here in Minney-soda! ;)
  20. Line it up with *The Word??? Word has 4 letters: PFAL has 4 letters: Book has 4 letters: PFAL Book must be the Word --- ESTABLISHED!! (How's THAT for the *new math*?? Bullinger move on over!! ;)
  21. Sudo -- Groucho said: Ever Present "TRUTH", not "TOOTH"! ;)
  22. You live too far north if --- Everyone you know has a car/ deer story to tell, You have a plug in heater for your car's radiator, Your girlfriend has jumper cables in her car - and knows how to use them, The grocery store has 5 unattended running vehichles in the parking lot, You own a roof rake, and; Sorel snow boots with a 3 piece suit is acceptable attire. This would be a ---- but too true!
  23. DWBH -- what do you know (if anything) about Greg Pharis and his take on Personal Prophecy?? He was *instrumental* (if I recollect correct) with the ces promotion thereof. Color me curious. :)
