Ha!! Good girls go to heaven. Bad girls go everywhere!

OK --- so I was a WOW in 1978, and I try to be a nice guy. Perhaps my opinion counts as well as his (given the qualifications)?? I clicked the link to the site and after reading a bit immediately thought --- >>> "I just signed the green card AGAIN, and am hearing all the same old stuff all over." I think I just suffered a *flashback*, and no --- I never did do drugs. From my (short, cursory) look at his site I saw nothing but praise for docvic, and NO mention of any of the (COUGH!) discrepancies between docvic and the *Word* that he taught so *efficaciously*, as it hasn't been heard since the 1st Century. It's pretty da** obvious that this Rick guy is promoting all things docvic and twi. And ignoring all the CRAP. Meebe he *burned all that CRAP* on Uncle Harry day, eh?? I don't care if this bozo jumped from an airplane with no parachute, and landed safely on his feet. Misguided is the kindest thing I can call him. He hasn't a clue, or if he does he's ignoring it. Good Lord --- when will it ever end???? Just because you know him, and he was a WOW, and is a *nice guy* in NO way validates his *teaching* on the website. I've met more jerks online than I have in real life. And I've met quite a few in real life.

Hello Brushstroke. I see (on the other thread) that you have the Blue book. That's a part of pfal. For a comparision of opinions/ scripture interpretation -- you might want TO TAKE A LOOK AT THIS. Written by Raf, found on the front page of GreaseSpot Cafe. Raf does a good job of hitting the nail on the head. :) Might be handy to know, before speaking with her parents, eh? Just a thot. ;)

What the Hey --- hey there. :) I was at that meeting in Chicago that Ralph mentioned. Matter of fact -- I was right next to him with a tape recorder. I heard him decry the *reverend* aspect, as he spoke -- he looked at me like *Who are YOU -- with that tape recorder????" I heard him tell others (also there) that this *new thing* wouldn't work. Don't ask me for the tape --- I don't think I have it anymore. I honestly can't tell you WHO he was criticizing, except for WHAT HAD HAPPENED. Ralph made it a point to GET TO THE POINT, and nothing else. The point (at that time) was the infidelity of twi (spiritually and physically) to you and I. The ONLY time I heard him talking about folks in particular dealt with --- those who didn't stack up to, or measure up to the Word. Now -- if you want to disagree, or discount that, fine. Have at it. This all isn't *one leader against others*. It's Truth versus Error.

Safari seems safe enough, but I also prefer to use Firefox instead. Just a personal preference. Both are good --- and FAR superior to IE. ;)

Good idea.

If you want to hear (participate in) a REAL knock down drag out no-holds-barred-fight, go to any banjo site and start a discussion about the superiority of one tone ring over another. Mention that Kulesh is best, and beats Burlile any day of the week. Tell them you use a Dannick tone ring for a toilet seat. (That sort of thing) While you're at it bring up submerged wood, factory floor rims, and one piece flanges. Mac versus PC is NOTHING compared to what banjoists argue about. The bulging eyeball and protruding veins from the neck are evident in EVERY post!

If you knocked over the *rowder*, does that make you the *rowdy*?? ;)

It is SO good to hear Ralph's voice again! He was one of the *Good Guys*. I never did get tired of hearing him talk --- eveything he ever said was *on topic*; whatever the topic at the time might have been. Thanks Paw for this broadcast, and thank you Ralph. :) You filled in a few blanks for me about the early days of CES, and the other reminiscing about twi held some new *revelations* as well. Will there be a sequel to this?? If not --- cool, but I hope there is. Seems like there's *the rest of the story* to be told.

My relatives in southern Illinois and Indiana both felt it in their respective states. Everyone's fine --- but they did report a whole lotta shakin going on. :D

Well --- the only thing I can (or do) have to say about this is we were all there in twi. Areas differed (acording to the *leadership* at given times), and documentation isn't always *available*, but I'm not saying anything new here. What I heard one twig leader (or area leader, or whatever *leader*) say from wherever I heard it (undocumented by either tape or written word), DOESN'T relegate it to the category of *opinion*! There's WAY too many stories that mesh one with another about *this, that or the other*, from folks who've never met, but ---- were all all in twi at one time or another. And these stories OPINIONS seem to be coming from all across the world, not just one small locale with a familiar ring to all of them. Given the amount of stow-ries over all these years -- it really doesn't matter if it is *documented* on tape, book, way mag., or whatever. There's too much input tossed into this from all over the globe for it to be easily dismissed so summarily or flippantly. Don't give me the *opinion* BS. It happened, and you know it.

Banjos That Destoyed The World POSTS!

Never partook of LSD. Partook (too liberally) of twi though. Didn't they both start about the same time??? 65 years ago was right around docvic's *snow on the gas pumps*. Wonder if he met Timothy Leary in his travels??? Makes a guy wanna go Hmmmm.

Jesus is God?? Nonesense. Saviour --- Absolutely. I'll shut up now, so as not to derail this thread. :)

Brusbhstroke --- check out my thread --- Critique ---- or Criticize The minister there (seemed) to be interested in adding new members. He was also willing to talk (to me -- an ex-cult membter). I'm always willing to talk to folks, but I have no agenda to *sell* to them. FYI --- twi folks DO have an *agenda* to sell. They will be less hospitable than I. :) Give them a listen -- but keep both ears WIDE open, eh?? ;) (edddiTED for my terroushous speeling! --- sowwy!) -
Won't happen Ron. I was active in twi then too, took L.E.A.D. several years after this accident, AND FIRST HEARD OF IT HERE --- 20 (plus) years after the fact. Ya gotta love (sarcasm dripping here) a *ministry* that won't care for *it's own*. The Baptists and the Methodists you mentioned were MUCH more in tune than twi ever hoped to be. Ya know -- my memory is kinda fuzzy these days --- but if I recollect correct (and I think I do) --- THE ONLY TIME I RECALL PRAYER REQUESTED FROM THE BOT WAS FOR ONE OF THEIR OWN. And --- they made dammmmm sure that request got out on SNS tape ### (whatever) I guess they were too busy to mentiion the *rank and file* folks. I never heard requests made for regular folks. Not on tape, not published, nothing at all. Ya know --- now that this thread has been brought back up to the forefront --- I'm gonna go back to my favorite (and legitimate) *rant* here about docvic and twi. The *Law of Believing* (as promoted by twi, and taught by docvic) ----- was THE MOST INSIDIOUS TEACHING PROPOUNDED and foisted on all us unsuspecting folks. It was up to US to *believe* to get rides, meals, etc. to do what THEY said we needed to do to accomplish whatever *spirituality* they thought we (as individuals) should accomplish. What I want to know -- is where the hell were THEY in their *believing* for their *flock*?? Prestige (such as it was), Money, and NO MISTAKES seems to permeate twi to the core. They couldn't admit to *not believing for their own*. More interested in money, and *good ratings* rather than admitting to a mistake. The last time I looked at a Bible --- It said something about a Shepherd caring for his flock. If the *Law of Believing* is so *immutable* --- How's come (sorry for the docvic-ism they couldn't do the same for *Mah People --- or, *Class* -- or L.E.A.D. caualties??? I don't see the word *immutible* in the Bible. Nor do I see *Law of Believing*. Nor --- (given the testimony here), do I see twi admitting to wrongs, Their silence has been deafening.

Hey there Pond -- let's (all) take a collective breath of fresh air, eh?? :) I didn't mean to offend you in any way, shape or form. Sorry if it came across that way. Like Oak mentioned -- I meant the *quote* thing as a suggestion. (Nother words --- it was a CRITIQUE, and NOT a criticism!!) :) This is for your (and anyone else's learning) about quotes, and color usage in the posts here. See the second *button* from the right at the top of your reply page? click on that -- it will read

If you decide to quote a part of something someone has said ---- copy what they said, then click that button in YOUR POST, and BETWEEN the brackets of the two words QUOTE, paste your copied thing you want to quote. and when it comes to color ---- type out what you want, then highlight it, and go to the big A at the upper right of your reply page. Click on that -- (you'll see this --- or whatever color you choose) and the text you wrote (that you highlighted) will turn into the color you chose. There's a forum down in the computer section of this site, that you can test this stuff on, and try it until you are satisfied with the results. I hope that helps out. Good luck. I didn't mean to .... you off, or irritate you, or anything like that. These days I'm into critiquing, and NOT criticizing. Oh --- by the way --- if you want to quote an entire post someone made -- all you have to do is click the reply button right under their post --- and it will show up in your reply box for you to add your comments to. :) I hope this helps, and sorry I didn't say this earlier. Had I done so -- this misunderstanding wouldn't have happened. God bless, and take care. David

GSGeorge --- can't help you out there. All I know is what he SAID he did. (I also --- tend to think he studied other's works more --- and took what he needed). But --- that is just my imo. I only saw him *crack the book* at functions, and on stage.

Some *down and dirty* Bluegrass from an upcoming band ---- THE STEEL DRIVERS.

Here's one posted over on my favorite banjo site. MMM with TT. (Michael Martin Murphy, with Tony Triscka) on Letterman. Tony's Deering Tenbrooks model banjo makes this song sit up and TALK! CAROLINA IN THE PINES.

dmiller replied to Brushstroke's topic in About The Way
Brushstoke -- I got involved with twi back in 1975. If they had said what they REALLY believe (up front and honestly) to all who were considering the class (pfal) and eventual membership in the outfit --- I doubt that they would've had as many *takers* as they did. What was portrayed to the public view, and what happened behind closed doors were two very different things entirely. Some here will say that docvic (Victor Wierwille) was corrupt from the very beginning. Others will say he started out with good intentions, but then got *choked by the thorns* of life. Regardless --- twi's M.O. hasn't changed, and their end goal is membership -- with your $$$. In THEIR wallet -- not yours. I doubt seriously that I could go and visit the farm there at New Knoxville (even if I wanted to), and be allowed to walk around without intense scrutiny, and severe restictions. ah hell -- one ex-member went to visit a grave site in the Way Woods there, and was arrested. May as well lay it out on the line for you. If you aren't in *good standing* with them, faithfully passing $$$ from your wallet to their bank account, you are no longer *Welcome at the Way* Which brings me back to the point you brought up, about the book. No --- they can't just *say what they believe* without *resorting to underhanded techniques of persuasion* like you said. The *ministry* is built on a man -- docvic. Jesus isn't in the equation. Docvic used a LOT of other folk's work -- to promote his own. He was sincere about it -- but to quote him ---- Sincerity Is NO Guarantee For Truth. Everything you've been told here by everyone comes from personal experience. It's a road we all walked at one time, and regretted later in life. And a lot of us were your age when we started on it. I didn't realize at first, that this was an online relationship. *momma* jen-o has some good advice! ;)
