Tapes I want tapes. I would go for the first six reel to reel tapes of Bishop Pillai teaching orientalisms, and any and all tapes by Way Prod. that were released to special people only. Never made it high enough in the "caste" system to get those from way prod. sent to me. Heard a few, and the music was awesome. Also want Walter's teaching on THE BRANCH tape 600 and something. I would settle for these.

IMF yea. The tree was a big part of twi. (ever gone to a "TWIG"? - that was part of a "BRANCH"?- that was part of a "LIMB"? etcetera?????). Went to the ex-cultworld site, and saw that picture of the billboard!! I loved it!! Green tree means life, brown and shriveled means death. The best part of that billboard that I saw, was that the green tree is on the right side (not as you face the picture, but as if you were in the picture facing out -- what we musicians call "STAGE RIGHT" Everyone knows (or should know) that the right hand is the hand of blessing, and the left hand is the hand of cursing. Whoever put that billboard up, really had his/her act together, cause the green tree is where the blessing is -- on the right side, and I am guessing that is symbolic of us, as in you and I. Kind of like adding a twist to the knife, or sprinkling a little salt in the wound!! But that is about all I know about the tree thing. Hope it helped. Shoot low. They are riding Shetlands

Sirguessalot --- yep, a compass is a wonderful thing. Only problem is it shows you a way to go, and it doesn't always get you through. It is worse if you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle, cause then you are stuck way out in the middle of nowhere, and in worse shape than if you had 2-wheel drive, and no compass. gotta love em anyway!!!

The Evan ---- good point about practicing. Was in a workshop with Dan Crary (bluegrass guitarist), and he made that same point, and also mentioned that no-one really LEARNS something, unless they set their mind to it. He suggested actively trying to LEARN for 10 minutes a day, and go up from there. He mentioned that the 10 minutes would get us more, as musicians, than 5 hours of "practice"

VPW is where we all will be when we "pass on". he is dead, and buried. One can only hope that the "seed" that died, and is buried -- in the case of VPW -- will not rise again to bear "much fruit" Feeding worms now, no (nothing left by now), somewhere near New knoxville, yea. Where he will be when the Rapture happens, who knows. I don't, but God does, and it doesn't matter what I think, cause God is calling the shots here. speaking of shots - Shoot low. what is life without music, and what is life without making your own music?? I pick banjo, guitar, bass, dobro, mandolin, and fiddle. I do piano and organ too, but I guess you don't "pick' those!! As for me and my house, BLUEGRASS RULES !! Mando is very easy to learn, but I agree with whoever said "it is easy to play an instrument poorly, and hard to play one well". They all have their intricacies, nuances, etc. that make them both easy, and hard at the same time. Altho I am somewhat accomplished at banjo, my picking there-of has been described as "something that would remove the most stubborn of wall-paper"!! >>> oh well -- best get back to practicing !! Keep on picking!!

Zixar -- Thomasik strings are GREAT for fiddles -- (I use them on all the ones I have -- 3 working ones at present) Black Diamond, or John Pearse strings are the absolute best for the 5-string. John Pearse strings work best on my dobro too. SIT (staying in tune) is an on going stuggle, as I am sure you are aware of!!!! I used to have a Deering, and it was not at all a worthy instrument. Perhaps yours is better. As for me, and my house, we will stick with Gibson Mastertones. LOL Shoot low. SimonZ I took the class (in 75) cause I wanted to. Was not co-erced, threatened, etc. yea --- me and all others who plunked down their hard-earned cash for PFAL, learned something. Some got a harder lesson than others. True. The profiles posted here show a small window into the souls of those who were once just like you and I, no matter what the reason. I like seeing each, and every one, cause at one small point in time, they were right at the same point I was. We have all moved on, but had (at one time) one common point in common. I love it that i can get a profile on each and every somebody who posts in here!! so what if all I get is male/ somewhere in the universe/ and no-- no show tunes. At least that is something, and that is more than one gets on aol, and all the users there. At least we all have one thing in common, and if you want to remain anonymous (sp?) well fine. where would i be without SIT --> Hmmmmm most likely dead. It is the one thing that keeps me sane in this world today. Mabey I am a simpleton for believing so, but I still see it (SIT) as my one ROCK-SOLID CONNECTION with the Father, and His Son Jesus Christ. It does give me comfort, I know I am praying for others when I do it in their behalf, and NOOOOO -- it is NOT prerequisite to receiving rvelation.(What a crock that was!!!). If you want to know more about length of interpretation, etc. etc. etc., then go to the new CES site, Truth or Tradition. Last time I looked, there was plenty there about this very subject. PS -- as a bluegrass banjo picker, the letters SIT usually meant Stay In Tune! :)-->
