Cool Waters (I DON'T MEAN THIS in "wayspeak") -- but you are THE BEST :)--> Thanks for all you have done, in this category. I never knew of it until I read it here. Guess I left too early -- good thing :)--> bad thing :(-->

2027 (Roy) No I have not read the book of Enoch, however, for the past year I have attended a Messianic Jewish "bible study" where they quote it often. I no longer go there, because they are convinced of the "pre-existance" of Christ -- something I do not believe possible. Ces has two very good sites about this. One is www.biblicalunitarian.com and the other is www.truthortradition.com Check either one of these out, if you have your own doubts. "looking for truth ........" David

Schuks yes we are. ;)--> Rocky Thank you for that MOST POLITICALLY CORRECT WORD "Bovine Feces", in this verbally tormented Woops! Verbally CHALLENGED world (these days)!! :D--> :D--> :D--> I shall begin to say BF now instead of BS, and see who is, and who is not "with the program"

Speaking of broken logic ---- I seem to remember from pfal, that the Adversary only copies, and can come up with nothing new, on his own. Then we are taught that there were "seed boys" in the Old Testament, (born again, bona-fide, "spirit-in-them") folk from the wrong seed, LONG BEFORE GOD PUT SEED IN MAN (spiritually) so that "born again" could become a possibility. Never made sense to me then, and it still makes no sense to me now. How could the advo have "spirit in them" before God the Father did, if the adversary only "copies"??

Kind of like the Apocrypha eh? Or like the book of Enoch? --> Guess there were other books to choose from. Don't you think the ones that made it are good enough? Clement does sound like my KJV Corinthians though. They were a rowdy bunch, and in need of reproof.

Rascal exactly !! --> --> -->

FIRST EPISTLE OF CLEMENT? --> --> What book did this come from??

Waterbuffalo -- That is a good question. My initial answer would be no. I still believe in the "administrations", so I don't think that applies to believers today. --> But I also wonder, the validity of the words Jesus spoke, do they carry over to another administration? The validity is real to me, but the "carrying over" is what I wonder about, so your question makes sense. I know we can lose rewards for good deeds done, if we do bad deeds that negate the good. Perhaps your question falls in this category, and if it does, then yes, we are graded on the curve system.

Tom I never had the lunch box, the wig, etc. but I did have the boots. :D--> Bought them in a small town in Iowa fer-crying-out-loud!!!! Looking back, at that same town, it is amazing they went for such a thing, back then. --> That anthology sounds really interesting. Will check it out. -
Lifted Up I see that statement as definite "wayspeak". I have heard no other group except twi (or it's off-shoots) talk about "going to the center" of God's Word. Oak Spear good point about pious platitude! :D--> This statement does seem like a "catch-all" answer. -->

CW :)--> :)--> :)--> I think I have apologized here on GS, more than I have posted comments I speak first, then see what I have written, and regret it too. :(--> No offense was taken (at this end) since I realize there are so many "beliefs" that are represented all upon one site. But thanks I never intended to rile anyone up, especially that early in the morning! :D-->

CW Fair enough. I am asking no one to believe anything, nor am I promoting human sacrifice. Just telling the story as it was told to me, from a non-way slant. What we do with it, is up to us individually.

Mandi The Abraham/Isaac story (vpw version) does NOT hold water. Just like his "Eloi, Eloi,lama sabachthani" teaching, it is faulty from the start, and only a "way brain" could hope to hold, and retain it. For the past year, I have attended a Messianic Jewish "bible study" on Friday nights, and they dealt with this subject a couple of times. To them, the image of the father willing to give up his only son (and according to scripture, Isaac WAS Abraham's only son that counted), was a very real entity. Remember, God had two sons also, Adam 1, and Adam 2, but it was Adam 2 (Jesus --or as the Messianics say -- Yeshua) who counted. They teach (and I believe them -- the Messianic viewpoint) that Abe and Zak WERE a "forerunner" of God and Christ, and these guys took the time to give scripture reference to what they said, and did not just put it forth as "doctrine". The one thing that really impressed me, was their description of the ram that was offered instead of Isaac. Remember the ram was caught in a "thicket" there in Genesis 22. The ram was caught by his horns. Horns equal power, and thicket equals the world. And also remember, that Christ had a "crown of thorns" on his head. So ---- looking at it from the "way-brain" dept.--- No, I would not agree either. Looking at it from the Messianic viewpoint -- I have to agree 100%. They (coming from an OT background -- and relating it to the NT) are in a much more accurate position to teach on this than vpw ever was. When they taught that thing about Christ, and the "crown of thorns", goosebumps appeared. It was so right on! A real "road to Emmaus" teaching. I don't go there anymore tho, cause they are now teaching that Jesus was there with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the fiery furnace, and are also teaching that Jesus is the one who wrestled with Jacob. Pre-existance of Christ is NOT A VALID ENTRY in my book. So I had to bid them farewell, but they did have one or two REALLY good teachings, and Abraham and Isaac was one of them.

Too Gray ------ you just made me hungry for PIZZA!:)--> Good teaching! As far as "disciples of Christ vanishing into thin air", didn't that happen to Phillip in Acts 8:39?? --> Will have to look up the words "caught away" and see what they mean.

EX just read your post about the "hedge". :)--> I forgot ALL ABOUT THAT No wonder I have cracked plaster on my walls! ;)--> -
I checked the twi site too, and there is nothing there about the "pick of the week". Maybe they finally got the answer to the question "What part of NO COPIES don't you understand?"

Only class I ever took taught by lcm, was that Rise and Expansion thing he taught about Acts. But I wouldn't put it past him to use someone else's work, then take credit for it. But he certainly can't take "authorship" credit for all the vulgar language he uses, so maybe he doesn't plagarize --- since the vulgarity is usually the main bulk of his "teaching" :D--> :D--> :D-->

NOT a "numbers" guy myself --> To me --- 98% vs. 95% vs. 85% is all the same. Where do these numbers come from, and how are they substantiated! --> --> --> All "polls" that spout numbers, have their own special spin to them. My question would be --- "Where did vpw get his statistics", and "were they "God-breathed" :)--> :)-->

Trefor -- Right. Most Americans haven't read, or are not familiar with the Constitution A co-worker of mine, was dumbfounded when I told them that the phrase "separation of church and state" was nowhere to be found in the Constitution. --> They simply took it "by faith" that it was there, and never checked it out for themselves. :(-->
