  1. 'Cuz you didn't say anything worthy of a spanking!! :D-->
  2. MJ -- with all due respect, "meriting twi's approval" means nothing more to me than them lowering the gun, but keeping it loaded and ready to point again. If they were a Godly organization, making legitimate "demands" concerning "holy behaviour" that would be in accordance with a scriptural life-style, I could agree. But they A) were not; B) did not; and C) had no clue as to what "Godly behaviour" meant. Their skewed "morality/ covered by grace" mentality got them to the position where they were able to use their authority as a huge stick, held over those underneath them. The example I used about a lying, drunk, thief being reprimanded shows that church authority calls ME into account for MY actions, that the church had NO part of. Contrast that with twi, who put people into difficult situations, and then held up the bible, pfal book, whatever, and demanded for THEM to get their act together, when THEY (twi) had a huge, if not major part in getting the "miscreants" into that position in the first place. I also know of folks who left, then went back due to various circumstances, but that is a whole different game than being told to "abort the child, or abort your twi "career". I agree that those who entered the corps program were wanting to do their "best" for both God and Jesus Christ. Unfortunately -- twi leadership got in the way, and turned a good thing into a shambles.
  3. I like Johniam's idea of a get-together the best!! :)--> Until that happens -- I think the weenie roast is the only "re-union" of ex twi that I would care to go to.
  4. Almost like rewards in Heavan don't count, but those in twig did.

  6. Yes -- it was common to hear this. Gotta stand up for yourself, and make sure everyone knows you are out there witnessing, you know. -->

  8. Jason -- please do. :)--> Would be interesting to hear "current" thinking. Not that I would believe it, but I left them almost 20 years ago, and it always amazes me that they come up with "new revelations" that so contradict what was taught back in the 70's.
  9. I used to believe that a baby (who could not independantly live outside the womb) was not a viable "person" -- taught by twi. I have since grown up, and matured, and realize now that they were covering up for indiscretions (if you will), that they would have to answer for, and take responsibility for. :(--> I think it was Hope R who said earlier, that a woman gets concerned when she does not feel the kicking, etc. inside, because that is a sign of "lack of life, that was there before". Seems like only the men of twi got to decide when life did, or did not come into being. How convienient. --> :(-->
  10. Oldies -- if I were to hold you at gunpoint, and say something like "your money, or your life", you would have a choice. If I were to hold you at gunpoint and say something like "step into speeding traffic, or else", you would have a choice. And if I were to handcuff you, and toss you into a lake saying "sink, or swim", again you would have a choice. The two "constants" in these hypothetical situations are the fact that either way you suffer harm, but you have a choice. You say that a "choice" was offered to those women, yet I see it as a choice that is as "desirable" as the ones I am postulating here, for you. --> If I were to be confronted by "church" authority for being a lying, drunk, thief that needs to "clean up his act" before resuming fellowship with that church, that would be a "choice" I could live with. That is NOT the case that Rascal, and others have stated here. The "choice" offered to them was indeed a "choice", but either way they went would be a lose/lose situation, therefore not a viable choice at all. They were told to "sink or swim", and given the coercion that twi used to protect those in the upper echelons, it was the same as if a gun were held to their heads. Now I am curious as to why you got kicked out, since you stated you did not live up to the standards expected. Hmmmm??? I am guessing that whatever you did, it did not include the murder of an innocent life, so I guess that makes you less of a sinner, eh? I wasn't going to say anything here, but I hate to see you ride rough-shod over Rascal, and spout ignorant, hurtful words that are in no way Godly, or edifying. I said it in another thread about lcm, but these words can apply to you too, if you do not repent from these attacks. And that is--- "Your words are coming from the south end of a north bound horse." God, and Jesus Christ are in the business of forgiveness. Sign up today. :)-->
  11. An innie said that??? Not in my opinion/experience. Private opinions were never allowed. There must be another "snow-job" happening there in Ohio, and whadda-ya-know, July is almost here. How convienient. -->
  12. I was walking out the door when POP was walking in. Seeing what happened with that whole fiasco, there wasn't a chance (imo) that it would be "fixed", "mended", whatever.
  13. What a crock! --> I am assuming no chapter and verse was offered to back this up, eh? (I never took the WayAP class, so I don't know). As usual, his teachings sound like they eminated from the south end of a north bound horse. And the only leaders I heard admit to being wrong, confessed to such AFTER they were out of twi, but not while they were still in.
  14. For what it is worth -- the three stooges were Larry, Curly, and Moe. LCM -->
  15. I remember classes like that, and the "beer-breath" wasn't always from the night before!
  16. Right. He was more of a novelty & cheap entertainment, than anything else at IU.
  17. :D--> :D--> :D--> twi would never sue over that one, even tho that is what they are.
  18. HA !!! :D--> :D--> :D--> I thought I knew this guy! :)--> He would stand on a busy corner of Indiana University, right by Ballantine Hall where many science classes were held, and "preach" at the passer-by students. I was a student there then, and happened to be passing by en route to a class one day, and stopped to listen for a bit. While he was harranging (sp?) the folks (many of whom also stopped for a minute to listen) one guy went walking right by him, and without breaking stride as he passed by, said "Yer fly is open". :D--> Bro Jed had one hand up in the air to emphasize a point, and kept it there as he checked his zipper. When he realized he had been had, he launched off into "what are you looking that way for??", and a scathing "teaching" on homosexuals and what they could expect if they continued in the lifestyle. Thanks for the link Jim. :)--> :)--> You just got me thinking of some old, fun memories. ;)-->
  19. Meetings (every other day) that lasted from 7 pm to 11 pm. Each time, and like clockwork. :(-->
  20. yes. The jade plant, and an anniversary plate. I still have the plate, the plant died long ago.
  21. The ONLY POSITIVE thing I see about twi "moving slowly" is that they give me more time to lock them in the cross-hairs. Nuff said.
  22. Guess we will have to click on the "contact us" link to find out. Not that I will, since I can't imagine they are publishing anything worthy of a subscription.
