  1. Ted -- got yer confirmation e-mail. :)--> :)--> Now -- can't wait to get it and see if I can do fiddle/mandolin/and banjo breaks along with it. :D--> Always did love the "ministry" music. More so because of the "heart" of the folks who wrote, and performed the songs. I think it was on the other thread that someone said something to the effect of "the best songs never made it into the studio". Looking forward to hearing those that did. ;)-->
  2. Listen to JT, unless you wish to "cash in" on some free room and board courtesy of Uncle Sam. ;)--> Even the current twi site is copyrighted, and I don't see a thing there worth "stealing". -->
  3. And for that matter -- I don't know why you would want even it. --> A week-end long "class" about the Christian Family and Sex -- and the word "Adultery" is never used or discussed.
  4. I have my own hand-written notes from the "seminal seminar". But my handwriting was never all that legible, so you would not be able to decipher the notes, even if I were to send them to you!!
  5. Am alllllll too familiar with them! Good poll questions!
  6. GS George is right. Someone at my doorstep deserves to be treated civilly. Spam on the computer deserves to be deleted.
  7. Ted -- Thank you!! :)--> I'll take you up on that offer.
  8. :D--> :D--> :D--> Am surprised that's all you do!! Good technique! I'll try to remember that one! ;)-->
  9. One question I have always had, deals with "born again of the wrong seed". Vpw taught about all the "seed boys" in the Old Testament, and also taught that the adversary can only copy, never coming up with something new on his own. Now -- the new birth wasn't made known until Pentecost, and since such is the case -- how could the advo put his "seed" in folks before that time, if he only copies, and thinks of nothing new?? Docvic did a lot of teaching on the "seed boys", but seemed to forget his own teachings where he said that God was the one who initiated "new birth", and (at other teachings) the advo had to follow and copy, but NEVER could initiate on his own. Or at least so he said/taught. So my question has always been -- If the adversary only copies, how could he have born-again "seed" in the O.T., when God did not have "born-again seed" until there in Acts? The "Christ in us" was called the mystery, (or better translated the secret), and the adversary had no clue about what was coming, or he wouldn't have had Christ crucified. And if he had no clue about "right seed", there is no way he could have had his own "wrong seed" at an earlier time. Always did want to ask vpw about this, but never did get the chance.
  10. Shaz -- I thought it applied to men as well. Perhaps Mo can tell us.
  11. Not the case for the majority of us (but I can only speak for myself). Honest question Refiner -- since when is it God's fault that we have had a "bad experience with Christianity"?? You say you are an agnostic, and that is fine by me, but I remain a believer in God, and all He promises reguardless what man may do to gain their own ends - monetarily or whatever, like so many of us experienced in twi. Just because a man screwed up, and I happened to listen to him, and believed him - doesn't mean God is at fault. It is not anyone's fault except my own that I took the path I did. I think (again - speaking my own viewpoint) that more people here are p**sed off at vpw, lcm, etc. than they are at God. If you bought a car that was a "lemon", would you be mad at the guy who sold it to you, or the manufacturer?? My guess is that you would be headed to the car lot where you bought it, and not to the factory where it was made. Same with this site here. We have all gone thru "stuff" because of twi, and while some have "issues" with God (and that is their right to do so), some (like myself) prefer to lay the blame at the doorstep of a farmhouse in Ohio, rather than at the foot of the throne in Heavan.
  12. Imbus -- yes -- that is a good one also. I am partial to the ones that can be hummed, while doing somthing else. Love Lifted Me is one of those.
  13. Me too Rascal. :)--> A song is a song is a song is a song, and always fun to pick along with. Some were better than others, but what else is new? I always did like Way Prod. stuff, even if it differed from my own musical tastes, simply for the fact that I could pull out the fiddle, or mandolin, or whatever, and try some new songs ---. Plus -- they at least had "Word" lyrics vs. "World" lyrics. For what it is worth -- that was important to me then, as it is today. Ted -- Thanks for the sharing/input! I can't believe you all did that on a 2-track. And yes -- your "best shot" is a good one.
  14. I am always kind to those who "come knocking'. :)--> I usually get JW folks, but there is an occasional Mormon, and once two Baptist ladies. I invited the Mormons in for coffee (coffee is a no-no for them), they refused, so we sat on the front porch and had a good discussion, until I asked them about their "special underwear" that somehow protects them. :D--> :D--> :D--> They left in a huff, and never answered my question about their claim that Jesus and satan are brothers. :(--> The JW's were also kind folk, and likewise, we sat on the front porch and talked amicably. I was polite to them also, but they got mad at me, when I suggested that perhaps they did believe Jesus to be God, since they promote His (Jesus') pre-existance, and thusly see Him as "more than human". I was going to ask them about their Communion service (where NO-ONE actually takes a wafer, or sip of wine -- but just passes the plate and cup on to the next person), but they were in "departure mode" by that point. :(--> The two Baptist ladies stuck around long enough to give their "spiel", and were uncomfortable on the front porch, since their "spiel" (written out, and to be followed line by line) involved reading a verse, and asking me what I thought. :D--> I gave them an earful. They got the most uncomfortable when they asked if I knew if I would go to Heavan when I die. I told them that I was not going to Heavan, but to Paradise where all believers will end up. And I told them that the proof that I was going there was because I speak in tongues, proving that I am God's child. They couldn't leave fast enough. But to their credit, they stuck it out long enough to finish their list, and then hand me a tract, and let me know when their services were. :)-->
  15. My two favourite ones are "My Life's Dream", and "It's Gotta Be God", and not neccesarily in that order. ;)-->
  16. Oak -- :D--> :D--> :D--> Sounds to me like you have "examined the premise, and are applying it equally" ;)-->
  17. Woops -- answered Refiner, but not Roy. --> Roy -- No I don't.
  18. Not really. I've gotten that way myself a time or two, and then the next day I turned around and apologized. Too many "belief" systems going on here, so I think everyone (with a few exceptions) understands that their's is not the only boat afloat. :)-->
  19. And then there was 9/11 3 BC!!!! :D--> How's about that for a spiritual re-birth?? !! :)-->
  20. Don't know about the "spiritual birth", but I have to agree that our eyes were opened on that day. Just a question here -- if I may.:)--> 9/11/2001 vs. Crucifixion Day (whatever year it was) Why can't folks see that as important of an event, as 9/11?? It certainly held more "import", given the significance of all it entailed. But it was also around 2,000 years ago, and time does too good of a job "fading" memories. --> But I am just rambling, musing, wondering.............:)-->
  21. I don't want a "Tomorrow God", since I need Him today. :)-->
  22. Originally posted by WordWolf -- And WordWolf is right. There is no "hierarchy" to sin. One is as bad as another, since all are sin, and earn you death. I never heard lcm teach this, but if I did, I would have to ask for "chapter and verse" documenting what he was saying/teaching. There are many verses on other categories of sin besides Romans 1, and the homosexuality issue. (imho) if you intend to address the issue of sin, make it inclusive, and don't single out one above the other.
  23. Right. --> vpw defined the original sin as masturbation. It is obvious that both of these characters were thinking, but with "brains" not located anywhere near the shoulders. Nuff said.
  24. Whether or not tombs, tunnels, shrouds, etc. have been "found" -- our Hope is in what Jesus Christ did for us, and what is awaiting us whenever He is told to come back and gather the saints. While it is great to have physical "validation" to offer to the world, I am of the opinion that my "witness" is made more solid by acting out the Gospel on a daily basis, with or without the "props' that have been "authenticated" by science, news groups, etc. It will be my actions, and inter-actions that make a difference in the lives of folks I come into contact with, rather than historical, geographical, or circumstancial data offered by the "sign-seekers". :)-->
  25. PS -- it never ceases to amaze me how folks are soooo willing to look at "biblical stuff", and try and find a "rational" reason for it's existance, and ignore the written record of it in the Bible. --> We have cars, elevators, national parks, toasters, computers, M-TV (gakkkkk!!), scenic highways, 4-color printing presses, on, and on, and on. Where are the sceptics who see these things, and then read the written record of how they came into being, and then say -- "Hmmmmmm? Can this be the same thing spoken of in these pages??" I have GOT to say -- "Get a life", or "Examine your premise, and apply it equally".
