  1. Def -- I started to read the site, then ran across this --- How so? I do not see it as blasphemy for God to choose a sacrifice that is not Himself, and then require us to accept that sacrifice for our salvation, and life. If the sacrifice has been chosen by God, who are we to argue and say that the "sacrifice" is somehow negated if it is not God himself? The "blasphemy" (imho) part enters when we decide that a "mere created being" cannot be something that God chose to be our substitute.
  2. Then don't log out. Just sign off, and come back again the next day. :)-->
  3. I've been told I'm a "tough nut to crack". Who knows what is deep inside? -->
  4. Dozer -- Absolutely!! I agree that it is great to have the physical validations, and I also agree -- that it is too bad that that is about the only good news coming from the Mid-East (these days).
  5. And also -- if vpw promoted "hearing from the dead", his book sales of "ARE THE DEAD ALIVE NOW?" would plummet, like said rocks in the last post. ;)-->
  6. Page 29 -- "The Blue Book" WHAT WE BELIEVE = WHAT WE ARE. Sounds pretty similar to me, but docvic never spoke of all those dimensions (to my knowledge). Nor did he espouse "hearing from the dead", since they are -- well, dead, and incapable of anything. The dead are totally capable of doing nothing, and I think it was Plato who said -- "Nothing is what rocks dream about". Pretty well sums it up for me. :)--> Vpw did, however, teach "manifestation power" through one's own believing, thus the similarity.
  7. When Vic says "WERD", it must mean he/she has no I key on the keyboard. Some of us, (myself included) spend too much time using using the - "I" - key! ;)-->
  8. --> --> Tom -- would that be right? (the Bullinger part) Shouldn't that be -- I also (Bullinger) got it? Putting the "also" after "it" means you got "something else", besides that which was "joked about". Just wunderin' --- :)-->
  9. Sorry for the de-rail. :(--> Ticks me off to see God blamed for the actions of those who CLAIM to speak for Him. Nuff said.
  10. AND THAT IS TRUELY A SHAME!!!!!!!! I do feel sorry for you if this is the case. :(--> Docvic happened to promote prayer, as did many other folk. For anyone of them to be wrong (and many are/were, including docvic), does NOT negate the fact that prayer works. Docvic had a take on it that left the sour taste, and in my experience, others did the same. The fact that a MAN could "dictate" how prayer was to be, or not to be, "accomplished" - means zilch to me. Honest heart, honest request -- God listens. Reguardless what the "bozo" MOG (of whatever denomination) says. Yes -- my "I believe" button is long gone. My "I ask" button is with me daily. And as I said -- "I/we don't ask for "red drapes".
  11. Can you say "facetious", and still pray? ;)-->
  12. Vic -- with all due respect, lotsa prayer both asked for, given, and answered in the Prayer Forum on this site. My "I believe" button is on the boat right along side of yours. And "red drapes" are the least of our concerns. :)-->
  13. $31.00 hey? I checked out the other items they have for sale. Most are going for around a buck.
  14. Actually, I had given up listening to rock and a lot of other styles by the time I got into twi. I was into the Bluegrass by then. ironically - Bill Monroe, the "Father" of bluegrass music, had the same reputation as vpw when the ladies were involved --> Monroe had a motorcoach too.
  15. Ditto here. I remember the implications about certain bands, and the "source of their inspiration", but that was about it. Yea -- I heard a lot of -"further the Word"- thru your music.
  16. What a toe-tappin, ear flappin, tail raising band you got there WhiteDove! :D--> Wonderin' what the "roadies" look like? ;)-->
  17. HEY!!!!! That looks like me on the fiddle there!!! Or was I playing the jug that night?? --> --> If'n I was on the jug, meebe the spot under the rug is the best spot fer me! :D-->
  18. Your post about Sal Arico prompted the above. I've not heard of him before, but if you say that song is a gem, I'd like to hear it.
  19. Raf -- I know there is a "believer music" site, but could you post links to where some of the "good stuff" is available for sale? I would love to buy each and every CD I hear about, but can't. If there are really good songs out there, and on a certain CD, by a certain artist, it would be nice to know which ones to "promote", ie - purchase. Asking you to "go the extra mile" (I know), but if you are willing -- from myself and others here (I think), thanks! :)-->
  20. Actually -- just get the cast of "Are You Being Served?", a Brit-com aired on PBS. There is enough resemblence there in story line (selling wares), personnel "duty", hierarchy, worker disgruntlement, and they are all old --just like twi and their outfit. :D--> For that matter -- if the Brits haven't copyrighted it (which they probably have), even the title could be used. :)-->
  21. Looking for the author here --- Who wrote "God So Loved You"??? --> I have it on a tape given to me back in the early 80's. Verse I: If you could look into God's eyes, What would you see? A Father's love so tender, So complete. If you could put your hand in His, Where would He lead? To a land of plenty, Joy and Peace. chorus: God so loved you, He gave His Son for you. Always trust Him, Each day put on His love anew. God so loved you, God so loved you. verse II: If you could see His beaming smile, You'd feel at rest. Because the Father thinks that you're His very best. He's your Heavanly Father, You are His child. He just wants to see you happy, and to see you smile. back to the chorus. This from a tape given out to wc, and I got it from Rod Mc*** (if i remember correctly) - area leader in Duluth at the time - who wanted me to learn some of the songs for fellowship. Never did know who the author of that song was, but it was played a lot up here. Anyone know who the author was?
  22. I already said "My Life's Dream", and "It's Gotta Be God", but looking through my guitar stuff, I found two more that are huge favourites with me. "You can Give A Whole Lot More", and "God So Loved" :)-->
