  1. Pirate -- maybe they never read the thing! Just put their name in it. :D-->
  2. :D--> :D--> Sometimes that there cattle-prod comes in handy. ;)--> Too bad it isn't legal to use it "judiciously".
  3. Perhaps twi was an "open door" in answer to prayer, but maybe we just didn't find the "exit door" as soon as we should have. Just speculating. I don't know. That is a really good question. Dot / Socks -- great analogies! :)-->
  4. Galen -- your continued use of G-d intrigues me. The only folks I have ever seen do that are those in the Messianic movement, though there are a few who (out of respect for The Holy Name), will do the same. Are you fellowshipping with a Messianic group now, or is this something you say from personal preference? If I'm being too nosy, say so. I don't mean to intrude, but I was/am curious. :)-->
  5. John Hartford did a version of this song!!??? He was the ultimate one-man show. Miss him, miss him, miss him. :(--> Met him in Bayfield, Wisconsin a year or two before he died. He showed me how he tuned his banjo (TOTALLY unorthodox), and I never wrote it down. Now I don't remember how he said it was done. Bow -- would love to know where I could find a copy of this.
  6. Taking a "paws for the claws" (or is that pause for the cause) --> to say Happy Birthday!! Or is that Happy Bearthday? Have a good one!
  7. Zix -- not only possible, but a high likelihood of being probable, if not down right certain. Many of the "clients" I work with utilize "bathroom dis-order" to either gain attention to themselves, or to express displeasure with whatever happens to be going on at the time that they disagree with. Your cats (I'm thinking) are no different, so your assumption is correct.
  8. Galen -- Me too. My house (nothing special, Geo can testify to that), was built around 1895, and one of those top mount units would be great. Just for the looks alone, if nothing else!
  9. Nope. :(--> Just an "undercover agent". :D--> :D--> :D--> :D-->
  10. At last -- an easy question! Same as unleaded gasoline. They don't add the lead, you pay more. Same as Lite beer. Less alcohol, more water, and you pay more. Same as "diet" foods. No sugar added, and you pay more. They even charge more for 1/2 size violins than they do for standard size ones, even though they use wayyyy less wood. Moral of the story -- "Less = More" You get less, and pay more.
  11. Smurfette -- Loretta Lynn (country singer) used to sing songs about "relationships", and was M&A by the country music association for doing so. She was asked in an interview by a (male) reporter -- "Do you really believe a marriage should be 50/50?" To which she replied -- "I don't believe in 50/50. Marriage should be 100/100." Loretta had the right idea. Go thou, and do likewise! :)-->
  12. Janis was one of the greats.
  13. George -- you sure did grow out of that there description of yourself! :)--> I hear you about the "sales technique". It was used different ways, to "meet the goals". -->
  14. Vickles -- don't you have to pack for that trip west, or sumpthin?? :D--> :D-->
  15. More expensive than a condom, but sounds like it's worth it! :D-->
  16. Ala is right. For me the "initial contact" was a coupla WOW's coming to the meetings I attended (a Jesus Freak group), sitting through the meeting, then "button-holing" folks after it was all over. They had questions about our beliefs (4 of us responded to their invitation for coffee and discussion), and proceeded to tell us twi belief, and "come to fellowship, and see what we are about". All 4 of us went, all 4 of us took the class, and all 4 of us are now out. We all lasted for a while, but by asking too many questions, and reverting to the independant thinking we were used to, we realized that we were not welcome at twi. There were as many "recruitment" methods as there were "recruiters", but the basic common denominator, was to get you to a twig - teach - then sign you up for the "class". Yea --"love bomb". Lots of that too. But twi (vs Amway) shoulda said ---- "Think of all that money you'll be spending".
  17. Galen -- this law only applies to new models, right? You can find "used" models where renovation and remodeling of homes is being done, or where building demolition will be taking place. One person I know, rents to college kids who trash the rentals on a regular basis. When the kids move out, she has to replace lots of items, including things like toilets, and bathroom sinks. She charges a "hefty" damage deposit from them, and frequently has to utilize it. She never shops for new. Driving around town with an open eye for construction remodeling sites, or even contacting local companies at their main office, she has always been able to find what she needed, and at a good price. Perhaps you could do the same. Find an "older model that will be discarded, and purchase it. Most, if not all, are in perfect working order. One man's trash, can be your treasure. And the older model will eliminate your frustrations, as well as other things! :)--> When asked what was worn under the kilt, the Scot replied -- "Nothing is worn. It is all in perfect working order!"
  18. Ted -- the CD's arrived this morning. Thanks! :)--> The bluegrass tunes with the open leads are great. They'll keep me busy and having fun for a long time!
  19. I stand corrected --- SIR! ;)--> To quote that country song -- "What was I thinking?" :D-->
  20. The athletic "analogy" was never an issue for me, though I have had others tell me I was wrong in ignoring it, listen to "the tape", see the production, etc. The Adversary did not come to compete. Plain and simple. :)--> That verse docvic quotes from the beginning of "da class" (John 10:10) shows this clearly. --> Maybe lcm knew something vpw didn't? Oh -- wait -- the times, they were a'changing. It always amazed me, that an entire "dance", could be done around this subject. WW -- I hear you about the "years and decades". I feel the same way.
  21. Yep ... what I said. Agreed.
  22. I took it as a compliment. :)-->
  23. or were you being facetious?? --> Either way, it doesn't matter.
