Nothing hid that shall not be revealed...ready?
dmiller replied to LiarLiarPantsOnFire's topic in About The Way
Not I. If LLPOF holds to, and believes the topic of this thread, then -- well, even vpw, lcm, and a whole cast of "characters" fall into the same category. I expect to be there before the same Judge. Somehow, I am thinking that LLPOF doesn't think that the "cast of characters" will be held accountable for what they have done, versus the things we post here. Am I wrong??? Oh -- My bad! --> -

I never tell a lie !! Woops! Think I just did. :(--> --> Twi was a land of "make-believe" for a lot of years, but the stories told here, are the reality of what happened in that never-never land. And that is no lie. :)--> -
Shellon -- good to hear the "Michigan Weather" did not follow you! Sad about that little boy. :(--> Yes I will, yes I will.
-
Ahhhhh. Then you are one smooth dude! ;)--> Heading over to check out the site you mentioned. :)-->
-
Now -- headed to the Doctrinal section, where a real discussion is going on! ;)-->
-
Nope -- That sounds positive to me! :D-->
-
That'll NEVER happen, and no -- I'm not trying for that. ;)--> No -- my work hours are such that I have a lot of time "available" to be on-line at night. :D--> (I tried the girl-friend thing) :(--> Kit -- dadgum it, stop that! Yer taking me places I don't want to go! (but -- thank you!! :)--> ) Yea -- a diamond in the rough! --> Tom sounds good to me. :D--> My intent -- was NOT to "glorify" the number of the post, but to state my intent to stick around. Some have left, some will be back, who knows?? This site is like a river -- fluid. I'm gonna stick around and see what is there beyond the next "bend", or the next set of "rapids". There is enough positive stuff happening here, that it negates the negative! :)--> :)--> :)--> "negates the negative"?? is that an oxymoron? --> :D-->

To all -- and it's just another IMHO, so you can "read" --For What It's Worth". Jal, and CES have changed. Neither are the same entity that they were in times past. Both have grown, and both are realizing, and accepting larger responsibilities. While I am not sure about the "vpw would be proud" statement, I can say that CES has done it's "homework". The ministry they used to be, well -- they are not today. What they used to teach, well -- they don't teach the same stuff these days. Some of the teachings ( www.truthortradition.com ) still sound like twi, but most have better explanations and scriptural reference, than vpw gave. They have evolved from an "information" group, to the "full-service" outfit, that frankly, meets more needs, even internationally. But imho, they are still an "informational group" that can be counted on to dig for stuff, and present it to the public. I am one of their (small) financial supporters (I don't give a whole lot, each month), but I believe they are doing what they can to further the cause of Christ (more than me, by a long shot). All pages on any of the 3 CES sites, are printer friendly, and one is encouraged to do so. I believe the cesonline is less so, since it is more or less the "home site". But the site www.biblicalunitarian.com and the site www.truthortradition.com are one's you can "tap" into, and see what they are up to, today. What JAL wrote, be it from 1988, or present, is his heart today. It was posted from a site that all can access. We've been burnt, we've been thrown out, we've been considered "so much garbage". I see that in the letter, yet I also see the fact that we can accept another WAY, the original one -- Jesus Christ. As I said -- this is just an IMHO. I want the fish, and not the bones. ;)-->

Hiya Jeff! :)--> How's the "supply guy' doing? Is this your way of spending a "quality" Saturday evening? ;)--> :D--> ;)--> Tell John hi for me. Was good to see him at the festival in Bloomington.

I'm sticking it out. Never thought I would be posting on WHY I choose to stay, but here it is. Saw that this post was #3,000, and decided to declare myself "in", in honor of the occasion. I will not be a part of the "mass exodus" leaving. Reguardless of the insults, innuendoes, allegations, bickering, fights, name-calling, quotes and mis-quotes, mistaken intentions, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum - this is home. Drive down the road -- Woops! Going too fast, and there's a cop with the radar. You just got busted. My question -- will you quit driving??? HellNo, of course you won't. It wouldn't cross your mind to turn in your "driver's license", and say "I won't drive anymore", any more than it would cross your mind to stop drinking coffee, since one cup you had at the Golden Arches was too hot, and you burned yourelf. --> Yet a few posters cause dissention -- WAIT A MINUTE -- Did they cause dissention, or was it our "over-reaction" that caused the ensuing "fire-fight"? I didn't like some of the thread topics any more than you all did, but there has been enough discussion about all of that. I don't know about you all, but for me personally, I deal with this crap on a daily basis at my work site. Maybe you do too. Here is a little something I posted on the ex-JW site, and I think it to be appropriate, right about now. my response to him was : So I'm going to do just what I can do, and have always done. I'm good with the handi-capped. Guess I need more experience with the ones who are online. Nuff said. I'm not leaving, :)--> And this is directed at no one in particular, just an IMHO. God bless. I could be wrong, but (imo) the main ex-way group is CES -- (Christian Educational Services). They recently changed their name to Spirit & Truth Fellowship International. Most here, myself included, still refer to them as CES. They are international now, and also teach many things that used to be espoused by twi, yet with revisions. Other topics taught by twi, they totally dismiss, and throw out. They are a good group, and if you wish to check them out further for yourself, they operate 3 sites. www.cesonline.org www.biblicalunitarian.com www.truthortradition.com I am of the opinion that the two you would be interested in, are the latter two. Biblical Unitarian deals strictly with "trinity" issues, and Truth or Tradition deals with everything else. The CES site is mainly an announcement/bookstore type of place, though that was all they had in the beginning. The other two sites have grown from that. I can't say that they are representative of ALL "off-shoot" groups, but perhaps this will give you a perspective. ;)-->

TommyZ -- when you find something on it, let us know. It sure could be used here! :(--> I used to have some stuff about it. I gave some books on the subject away, and that was years ago, so I'm not sure of the titles. One title I do (kinda) remember, is "Jesus, the Healer" -- by (I think) E.W. Kenyon. If I remember right, I bought that at ROA a coupla decades or so ago.

Nazi is too kind of a description for these ###@@+^&*$%#@ Since I work at a group home, I hear of things similar to this. Nowhere near as bad as the story posted here, but similar none-the-less. Johnny Lingo is probably correct, these ***@@@**###**** (wish you could read that in the original), are most likely taking on the kids to get money from Uncle Sam, and then doing the power trip thing. Obviously, their real intent is NOT giving them a good home.

Used to be, that every last somebody, could check out private topics, not just moderators. Then this whole site switched over to a "new, and better" thing. Before the site got switched over, I always wondered why there were so many "hits" on my PT's. Seemed like the entire GS community was looking at what I had to say to someone else. Well -- Thankfully that has changed. I have no problem with a moderator reading what is in my PT. Moderators are there for a reason, and not there to "snoop". To go back to the "river" analogy, Pawtucket is the headwaters, the Moderators are the banks of the river, we are the water, and we hit both rapids and "clear sailing" -- ie. Pt, and threads. Moderators (imo) keep the water from straying too far off course, and headed for the "open sea". Water is a fractious lot, (just like us) and without boundaries, would go anywhere. With that being said, I'm glad that it is only moderators that can access my PT messages. I'm not given to attack anyone, so mine are pretty innocent. Mine are probably passed over, as being too boring! :D-->

Doorleven -- don't know if I've said "howdy" to you yet. Welcome to GreaseSpot! :)-->

Not me Shell. brrrrrrrrrr! 4th of July fireworks here were delayed by one day, due to extreme fog. With the fog off the lake, came the 48 degree temperature's we experienced that night. Today, July 8, we needed jackets all day long. I like cooler weather, but this is ridiculous!

Mary -- Ditto to Mark, and Galen's comments. Sorry to see you leave here. :(--> You have added a lot. Some decisions are not easily reached, but from having met you, I realize you must have put time and thought in reaching this conclusion/ course of action. Maybe GS is going "downhill", just like water goes down hill to the sea, seeking release from the narrow river banks, to the more wide open water. Every river has it's rapids as well. This "GS river" just hit some "rapids", but true to form, the water continues on, undeterred. When canoeing, and running the rapids on rivers, the safest place to be is right in the middle of things where the "V" is formed. There are two ways to survive on the river. Put yourself in the middle of the turbulence, or pull over, beach the canoe, and walk it past the hard part. Both methods of dealing with the situation are correct. Some turbulence I have encountered on the rivers caused me to beach the canoe, and lead it by a rope, because what was in front of me was too much for me to handle, but once I was past the danger zone, I got back in and paddled on. Will miss your posts, and I hope you get past the rapids quickly. Walking a canoe on a rope is like taking a "pet rock" out for a walk! :D--> David :)-->

Doug -- sounds like yer a welcome dude, dude! :D--> :D--> stick around for a while!

Krys -- oh, ok. My work hours vary, but late night is the "norm" for me now. I drink the coffee too much, but that has nothing to do with how late I stay up. :D-->

I still have not voted, and now I doubt that I will. For what it is worth -- and this is just an IMHO only!! -- here is what I think about the need for this, and my poll. They should not be needed. I was being facetious, (tho somewhat serious) when I posted mine, however I doubt that Zixar felt the same way, and was deadly serious. Every last somebody has something to offer here, and toes are gonna get stepped on. I got out my steel-toe boots, dusted 'em off, put them on, and started posting, when I saw how things worked here 7 months ago. Opinions are just that, an opinion. And they are going to vary. There is one-hell-uva-lot-of-us who see things differently, but we came from the same "mold" -- (read "mold' anyway you like), and now -- here on this site, opinions seem to count. I, for one, vote for GreaseSpot. "Changes" and all. It is a lively, "happening" place, and we are lucky to have it. Perhaps that should be the next poll --- GreaseSpot? Yea or nay? I would vote Yea.

I can't imagine life without coffee -- all day long. I go thru a pound and a half of the stuff weekly, and it is "high-octane".
