Same thing happened in our country (I think it was) in the last year or so, but the "risk" happened to concern a few fish, versus humans. Wildfire was happening, out West, and out of control. Planes were in place to scoop water out of lakes in the area, and dump the water on the fire. Enter -- local envirionmentalists. There was a fish (endangered) living in the lake that the water was to be "scooped" from, and because of that, the planes were grounded. Because of this action, the fish lived, while (I think) 8 humans died. I, for one, would never think twice about the "public good" over that of a few individuals, or even fish -- for that matter. You pegged it right -- this world is going to hell-in-a-hand-basket.

Oak -- My feelings exactly!! :)--> For what it's worth, my post number was unimportant to me. Having been "schooled" in twi about the usage of numbers (plagarized from EW Bullinger), I, in my twi (still some of it there) mindset, decided to post on that particular number that I was sticking around. Nothing more, or less. GSCafe is going thru hard times (my perspective), by folks saddling up, and heading out because of what has been going on. My only intent in posting what I did, was to say I am staying. And I hope you all do surpass me. Means (to me) that there will be folks here posting, discussing, argueing, living life, and existing in a "reality" world, other than that which we once encountered. Searcher -- I would love to see you reach 3,000 posts here. You contribute a lot, and if you got to that number, well -- that would indicate that you thought it worthwhile to stick around. Long live GreaseSpot -- in it's entirety

Now if that was a banjo case the one brought on, I'd have declared them terrorists immediately!!! :D--> :D-->

YBYSAID -- You figure out the acronym, since this is a moderated board!! :D--> I have no problem telling folks where I have come from. Perhaps it helps explain a little of the "insanity" that they see in me today, and can thusly, half-way understand my "drift" To mention my past is not always a "proud" thing, but I have no qualms about doing so. It is always spoken of as "been there, done that, and got the tee-shirt". Actually -- letting folks know about my past, helps break down barriers. They see instantly that I am not some "goody-two shoes" (whatever the **** that means! I always mention past cult involvement, if it is pertinent to the conversaton.

Is God / The Word / Religion Spoiled for You Now?
dmiller replied to ChasUFarley's topic in About The Way
I hear that, loud and clear. But not only in the "religious" field. Working with folks who have handi-caps, I often notice the "staff" who are assigned to them, being just that way. They (the staff folks) talk in a louder voice (to the "clients"), appear to be more "cheery", upbeat, whatever -- to mask their feelings of discomfort of being in the situation called "work" at a group home. I could go on and on about this, but I won't. To put it bluntly, the "overly-zealous" are salesmen, reguardless of the product. I, for one, would never dream of trying to find another job that doesn't have folks with handicaps working there, cause they are just too much fun to be with! They are more real to me, than the "real" world, and "see things through a glass clearly". But I don't let the over-enthusiastic staff deter me from the pleasure I get from working with these people. Nothing has been spoiled for me by my ex-twi experience, anymore than any other church I used to belong to. I still believe, I still find snippets of info that help me along the way, I toss out the trash, I hang on to the good, I incorporate into myself that which is (imho) "becoming, and profitable". I do this at work, I do this with "religious beliefs", I do this with LIFE. God can transcend all this crap, and I'm glad I'm on the road that may have a few detours here and there, but gets you there in the end. -
Thank you for the reply. If you worked at the home office of CES, you know more than I do about what their motives are. My comment was mainly directed to the fact that they do not "teach" or "promote" momentous anymore. Perhaps they still use the "principles" learned in it, the same way we use "principals of research" we learned in twi days?? I don't know. But I WILL check out what you said about dispensationalism and Romans 9-11. Sounds interesting. And though I am a big proponent for dispensationalism, I'm willing to look at what you cited, and see whazzzzz up! God bless! :)-->

Sir Guess: You've made many valid points today. I've not said much on this thread, yet here is the original statement I thought to be in the need of addressing. I don't see myself, or anyone else, "confronting" a dead man. Merely stating facts and events that happened. And while the souls may be bitter, they are not lying. After reading so many stories here of the atrocities that occurred, there was no doubt left in my mind that truth was finally coming out into broad daylight where it belongs. And I, for one, was not an enemy of vpw while he was alive. I didn't know about all this stuff then, but I don't hesitate to speak today about what I know (given the many testimonies here), should someone care to ask. And the fact that LLPOF has chosen to ignore what has been written here (by those who have 1st hand experience), and call them "lying, bitter souls" puts him into the category of those who are in need of reproof. That's my opinion. LLPOF is walking the "fine line" between being the man by the side of the road that the good Samaritan helped, and being a Pharisee. Personally, I think he slipped into the Pharisee ditch, and perhaps a "Good Samaritan" will cross the road and help. But he needs to recognize he needs the help first, which I doubt is forth-coming at any time soon. there's a new one!! "Why did the Good Samaritan cross the road?" :D--> -
Perhaps. I don't know about the "oath", or the "lack" of repentance -- however, when those in CES (leadership) went through momentus, they did speak about it. It was related to us as something they had done, described as quite hard, and not for the "faint of heart". But in the early stages, they did say that learning was to be gleaned from it, though they soon dropped all mention of momentous. That was back in the early 90's, perhaps even the late 80's. I don't remember the exact year, but JAL was here in Minnesota, I went to the fellowship, and he gave momentous a brief reference, but no more than that. On all of the tapes I have from them (1990 to present), there is no mention of momentous. It should suffice to say, that they have left it behind them, as something not worth trying, and so much "water under the bridge". And they have not spoken of it for over a decade or so now. Perhaps you had a different experience with all of this, (other than I have had), yet this is my perception of something they did, yet now no longer advocate -- privately, or publically. If they made a mistake by "advocating" momentous (my opinon), yet haven't spoken of it for 10 or 15 years, I tend to believe they (CES), has moved on to bigger and better things, and have left the past behind. Just an IMHO. :)-->

ROR -- TY!! --(counting blessings here) My shower is small. But if I found a certain-female-country-singer-you-all-have-heard-of in my shower, I wouldn't be kicking her out. NOR -- would I suspect my ex of giving her the key! ;)--> :D--> :D--> :D--> :D-->

The price "leadership" had to pay. (sigh) I never heard of these forms either, but I was out in '85. Guess my time "in" wasn't worth counting! :D--> Bobby Ewing in MY shower?? Before kicking him out, I would wanna know if my ex gave him a key to the house! :P-->

ANOTHER "Table of challenge". --> Liar, you are the one who asked for the meeting, and there will be a bunch of us in Tennessee, at Fall Creek Falls Park, October 8-11. If your wanting confrontation, by all means -- come on down. But I guess you would rather do it in the comfort of your own home, eh? -

Well -- at least you got the 2nd part of that statement right. --> -
Took a look at the article, and 1st impression is -- Yes, we are needed, (but) given teaching from past and present, it is because He (God) chose to do so. Will be looking at this later on, and more completely. :)-->

I'll echo Zshots sentiments. But this is northern Minnesota, not southern Arizona. If'n yer ever coming this way, do drop in. But don't put it off too long if you do, cause winter is coming soon! :D--> :D--> :D-->

I remember the "bless patrol/safety dept.", and the old "black and white" car prowling the campsites at the roa. Funny, I never questioned it back then. But then again -- I never questioned the teachings either. -->

Actually, for a bit there, I thought the "certain poster from San Diego" had moved to St. Louis, but then I saw there was no mention of pfal. So much for that theory! -
