  1. Abigail -- getting the individual to "look within" would be the best, because then if they professed a conversion - chances are it would be a "true conversion". And perhaps these guys are using the 10 commandments when talking to folks, since most people are aware of (and know "in principle") what they contain.
  2. I've heard of these folks, and what they are doing strikes me as nothing more than a different approach to "witnessing techniques". It isn't my style, but if it works for others ----- Folks approached this way can either listen or leave, just as any "potential convert" that one witnesses to can either accept or reject the person proselytizing. One guy in my wow family used to go to the mall, and make it a point to go into men's clothing stores, and ask the clerks if they would like to be "clothed with righteousness". :D--> No -- he never signed anyone up for the class that way, but it was his technique. :)-->
  3. Raf -- ahhhh. That makes sense. Thank you! :)--> why do I always see the negative side of things?? -->
  4. Steve -- So many folks here post links to other sites (concerning a "pertinant" article, or particular "nugget" of truth), I think you should ask them all to re-state their particlar link posted, in their own words, and not just one person -- who obviously agrees with the article posted with a link to it. If I happened across an "urban legend", post it, and someone else posts a link to Snopes refuting everything I just took the time to type out, would you expect them to re-write in their own words what Snopes had to say?? I think not. You may think of CES as detrimental, and that is your right. But to ask Jeff, or anyone to re-write (in their own words) what is already succinctly written, is nonesense. Live links are there for easier dissemination of information, and to re-write in one's own words, defeats the purpose, reguardless of the subject. Perhaps you see CES, ands Jeff's post's as "elitist force feeding", but with all due respect, ignoring the post is just a click away, and you can chose to NOT be "force-fed". If you ask one person to "make the material their own" before posting, please do so for all. :)-->
  5. I shoulda used that word initially. --> A "Mc" job? or a "big Mac"?
  6. Can a leapord change it's stripes, and a zebra change it's spots? --> Gee --- did I get that right? --> :D--> :D--> :D-->
  7. I have just started reading the Book of Enoch, myself. Interesting stuff, and even though it is quoted in the New Covenant Writings (ie. the New Testament), my personal "jury" is out (as of yet), about it's validity.
  8. I agree, and I for one do NOT espouse Mormon doctrine, and their idea of Jesus and Lucifer being "brothers". I do believe that Jesus "took the vacancy" by His obedience, whereas that vacancy was created by Lucifer's disobedience. As far as John 17:5 goes, have you considered This CES link?? There are many thought-provoking things to consider in their Top 100 Reasons category, and while you may not agree with any of it, take a look, and see what you think. :)-->
  9. George -- well, I for one, am not holding my breath! ;)--> I took at peek at the OFFICIAL WAY INTERNATIONAL DICTIONARY OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, and to my (not so complete surprise) I did not find the word "apologies" in there. :(--> However, I did find "apologetics" (with their emphasis on the word defence therof), and the word "apoplexy" -- which I have to quote for you all since there was a picture of lcm behind the podium teaching, next to this definition. --- Apoplexy -- sudden loss of muscular control, with diminution or loss of sensation and consciousness, resulting from rupture, or blocking of a blood vessel to the brain." :D-->
  10. So the controlers got rid of the controlers? --> Who is in control? :D--> "More loving?" Perhaps they found a "gentler, kinder way" to ease the cash from your wallet to theirs. -->
  11. Amen, and amen! I for one do not believe in the trinity, yet I have friends who do, and while it is a point of discussion between us from time to time, it is not a "bone of contention". The Trinity is discussed by CES, and for your traditional viewpoint, check out the The Think Tank. The book CES has put out "One God, And One Lord" is both excellent, and comprehensive. A lot of it is on-line, so you don't have to buy a thing. Check it out, at the same site Biblical Unitarian that I mentioned earlier. :)--> Meanwhile --- I will continue to refute the trinity, and the deity of Christ, while loving and inter-acting with those who profess to be my brothers and sisters in Christ. That is -- after all -- what it is all about. :)-->
  12. Back in Indiana, J**n Scott was the branch leader, and had a helluva reel-to-reel tape collection (at least I think it was his). He "moved on" in '76, and left the tapes behind. The first 4 3-hour reel to reel tapes were Bishop Pillai teaching Orientalisms. Those tapes were available for any and all to listen to. Would love to have a transcript of them, or have a copy of the tapes themselves. I heard them once, but that was almost 30 years ago.
  13. Goey -- :D--> :D--> I really like the name of the "insitute", given the first four letters.
  14. Mike -- hey -- for your info, I only pulled out that magazine, because you cited a quote from it. I am not "returning to the originals" as you said. I (for one) do not mind your posts --it is a free country after all, and folks can beleive as they wish -- and you are no exception. I have "paid my dues" in twi, and I have no wish to return. I will say that vpw did teach some good stuff, coupled with the fact that he has also taught some bad stuff. The fact that you care to hang on to his teachings is only admirable in the sense that your tenacity has roots. I will be checking out the Last/ Lost Teaching to see what it says, but don't hold your breath. I don't expect much. Doctor spun a good yarn, and we were all young when we first heard it. We are older, and wiser now. I have materials that go back to the mid '70s here -- and looking them over -- I see a decline in both the ministry, as well as the Word that was taught in twi. And that is just from what is in print. Looking at the "ministry", and it's "outreach" today (in physical terms), it is evident that even "mastering pfal", or the "originals" would not be a sufficient enough skid to stop the downhill slide they have embarked on, and are reaping the results of.
  15. Must be one of those "hidden" books like the Book of Enoch. ;)-->
  16. CW -- nawwww. It's just the work of all them there "thread-killers". (You know them -- Psalm71, WhiteDove, Vickles, Wyteduv, etc. :P-->
  17. :D--> I go thru Indy a coupla times a year, and I always see JAL. Have you a "timetable" that I can see Elvis, and UFO'S also??
  18. Roy -- I might be an eligible candidate for "King of Conservative", but not "King of Silly". Wait a minute -- --> --> --> Conservative? Silly? Don't most here see that as one and the same thing? :D--> Maybe I do qualify after all. -->
  19. Trefor -- Hiya bro. Good to see you here again. :)-->
