  1. The up-side of her age (as Jay Leno pointed out), is that if she decides to breast feed, she can just leave the kid lying in her lap, and not have to lift it at all! :D-->
  2. You "threw it" well! :)-->
  3. Cindy! --- Have a !!!!! Birthday! :)--> :)-->
  4. Naw -- just call yourself a "renaissance woman"!
  5. Put on some Bluegrass, he will really dance then!! :D-->
  6. The stuff I have written, has never been recorded, and though many of the lyrical tunes that I have penned (vs. things like fiddle tunes), deal with material from pfal, bible, etc., mostly gleaned from twi, or ces teachings, thoughts, conjectures, you name it. It pleases me to take a title of a tape, find the verses that sustantiate it, and render it into verse, along with musical accompaniment (sp?), and play it for my own pleasure. The songs I have written are usally too radical to be accepted in any "main-stream" church, but my friends here who are "main-stream", are split 50/50 about what my songs have to say. In other words -- they love me/hate me, all at once! As a "never recorded" person -- I still retain "rights" to both the lyrics, and the melodies of all that I have managed to put down on paper, regardless of the influence that may have inspired such. I never "got the chance" to be in the position of writing anything that was of enough interest to headquarters. :D--> :D--> PTL!
  7. That happened to me a while back, but it was black on brown. :(--> I have an old Mac here, and I figure that it was the machine doing it's own thing. Hope your machine does you better than mine did to me!! :)-->
  8. About that snow --- any gas pumps happen to be in the neighborhood? :D--> I agree about the "correct call". My mind was made up early on, and they should have "powered up" that chair long ago.
  9. Good bunch of pictures. How many guests did you have, that spent the night? That isn't you in the upper right hand corner, looking like a "mummy" is it? I agree with Oeno!! :D-->
  10. Acts 12:14?? What do you mean by that, Kit? --> -->
  11. Oh -- btw -- VOM is based out of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Can anyone think of another "martyr" from that locale?? :D-->
  12. Gotta "qualify" my statement -- what I said, and what was inferred, are two different entities. I was NOT agreeing to "who the beast is". I WAS agreeing to the other post by Joe (above mine from whence this quote was taken). What I DO agree with (100%), is the fact there is a serious deficit in seeing the "Wonderful Works Of God" (ie. -- Miracles), in evidence, here in America --- whereas they seem to be more in abundance in the countries around the world that are poor in wealth, yet rich in faith. You surely will not hear Dan Rather, or any of the other "main-stream" newscasters talk about such instances, but you might want to check out The Voice Of The Martyrs to get a more balanced perspective of what is actually happening to Christians who are standing up for their faith, and not "just going to church". It is folks like these, that are seeing deliverance in the physical realm, that somehow seems to elude those of us who are "more blessed in other areas". THAT was what I was alluding to, and in 100% agreement with. Nothing more, nothing less. "The Beast" is gonna come (someday), and since he/she/it has nothing to do with where I spend eternal life, I don't even think twice about who it may be, cause I just don't care. I (for one), am more concerned about getting my act together, before the final curtain call. :)-->
  13. The pro-abortion crowd had a real fit over this definition early on. To them, the unborn baby was just a "thing", and not a person -- and even though Lacy had a name picked out, it's sex was known, etc., etc., they all had a major blow-out because of those implications. The "unborn child definiton" was perceived to be a wrecking ball headed straight for the foundation of the "wall of ignorance" that they have tried to foist on the American public for so many years. What I find interesting is ---- I am hearing less and less of an "unborn child", and more and more of "his pregnant wife". Looks like the libs are getting the "spin" (on national media), to go their way after all.
  14. And a PS to this --- You show up in the prayer room --- I'll still pray for your requests. Don't care what you think, how you believe, etc. You have needs, God has answers. Plain, and simple.
  15. At the risk of losing any shred of credibility I may have here --- I agree with Joe Believer 100%, unequivocally. I find it amazing that anyone here can so easily dismiss the "debbil spirit influence", that hounds each and every one of us daily. I hit the Prayer Forum regularly. What are those requests all about, if not DELIVERANCE?? And if deliverance is needed, the various problems are most certainly not caused by God, but rather by an enemy that wishes to see both you and I in the "ditch of life", and no 4-wheel drive to get us out of it. I am also amazed that there are several (if not many folks here), who profess no knowledge, or belief in a Heavanly entity, who will show up regularly in the Prayer Forum --- asking for help from an entity, that they claim not to believe in. To anyone who does not believe in the spirit world -- I feel sorry for you. It is sooooo evident, and so prolific, you really do have to be blind to not see it -- regardless of what docvic taught. What he taught was certifiably (sp?) plagiaristic, but -- what he plagiarized had some truth to it. I have heard a lot about what is happening in other parts of the world, where the Gospel is being preached, and results reminiscent of Acts are being done on a daily basis. I, for one, have no clue as to who the beast is. Nor do I care. The only thing that matters to me is who is the Promised Messiah, and that He came, and "delivered" as promised. Why are we not seeing that today, here, in America, in communities of need, in times of trouble, etc., --- making it seem that our prayers are worthless? Yea -- this belongs in the Doctrinal Forum, but I'm glad it is here, so more folks can peruse what is being said. Dunno. Don't want to go the "lack of believing route", but you know what?? In this case, that could very well be the reason. Guess we will all find out at the Bema, eh?

    Expired Meds

I wish the "durability" of the food in my fridge would last as long the medicine upstairs in the cabinet does! :(-->

    Expired Meds

Interesting article, Shellon. Thanks! :)--> All the meds at the group home have a one year expiration date on them, but we only get one month's worth of each med at a time, for each of our four clients. Needless to say -- we never go over the "ex" date on any of them. My own house?? Different story altogether!! :D--> I looked in my "medicine cabinet", and every last bottle, or pill there was well past the expiration date. Granted, I only have Ibuprofen, and cold medicine -- and I'm trying to remember the last time I used either of them. --> While I think that it's possible the liquids may "break down" after a few years, I never figured the aspirin and such would. One bottle in the cabinet is expired by 6 years. I might throw that one out! ;)-->
  18. Thanks for the link, Tumbleweed. A different view of Emporia, entirely.
  19. If a person cannot "forgive" (enemies), then it is not possible for them to "give" (to friends). Think it through. It makes sense, even given the twi mindset once propounded to us all. RG is not only making a good point, but is absolutely accurate, in stating the basic premise.
  20. Uh-oh --- did I just "open mouth, and change feet"??
  21. Hopefully, a cryogenetic man takes less precedence to coupons!! :D--> ;)-->
  22. Song --- sorry for the "rolleyes", and the "whatever". Wasn't criticizing The --> and the "whatever" meant less than the two "confused" smilies -- --> --> -- since I did not understand what you were asking. Nothing more, nothing less. :)--> :)-->
  23. Sure beats a picture posted in a post office somewhere. Lot's of good points being made here, and unfortunately a lot from personal experience. In my immediate neighborhood, there are 8 or 9 "level 3" sex offenders living in various houses amongst all the rest of the residents of the area. I don't know if the housing is "subsidized" by the state, but I suspect so. All are men, who have been caught previously, were tried and convicted, have served their time, and are now "deemed fit for return to society" by the local law enforcement. Needless to say, their "relocation" to a highly populated area (mine --- replete with families, single mothers, and other "vulnerables", was not gone un-noticed, and public meetings were held in each and every "re-location" case, so that the community was aware of who was moving in, and where. Don't know about all of your various areas, but here -- "level 3" means more than likely to repeat. One of those "known to repeat" level 3 offenders ( a convicted, time served, and released pedophile) was housed 1 1/2 blocks from an elementary school (again -- I am assuming), by the state. Public outcry was so vociferous and outraged, he was moved immediately -- though still within the range of children. I don't pretend to know all the answers, nor will I make any assumptions other than --- I think Krys is right about the isolated colonies, though that may not be plausible in today's society, and even if it were -- it would only apply to those caught, therefore not dealing with the "rest of the iceberg" that is hidden beneath the surface. Pictures on a wall somewhere are great, but after a while, one gets used to them, and they lose their significance (imo). Holding the informational meetings we had help also, yet they fade in significance as time passes also. Our neighborhood "watch committee" makes it a point to monitor these "malefactors" (is that too kind a word?), as well as the streets in general -- and so far -- nothing detrimental has happend. Again -- I realize that this only deals with the known offenders, and not the rest. Dealing with the "hidden factor" is beyond my expertise. From our experience here, being vocal means everything -- and the louder, the better. I know it is not always easy to be "vocal", but when it happens, a bit more of the iceberg is exposed, and we can chip away at it, bit by bit.

    Just Awesome !!!

Mighty purty! :)--> We get them here time and again, but that big ole Lake out there causes enough fog, clouds, etc., that they are usually obscured from view. :(-->
