"Food for Thought" - Original Sin

:D--> :D--> but then -- it coulda been an orange too. "Orange ya sorry ya didn't listen??" -
Hiway29 -- thanks.

Yes -- they should, and they will stand on their own. The point I was postulating is simply -- we can be "quick to judge" (and Lord knows -- we have reason to believe we are right in the case of vpw, and lcm), but while we judge others, we do so by our standards, and our standards aren't going to be the deciding factor, when all is said and done. Don't get me wrong -- I am not standing up for them -- but I am saying (that if one should wish to do so), looking at the bigger picture of life (wrongs done, consequences, forgiveness/judgement, etc., etc.), just might make you think of your own situation (as it does me). Everyone is very quick to think of God's condemnation of those who have done "wrong", but --- has anyone thought about God's forgiveness?? Was vpw, or lcm worse than the Apostle Paul (as far as what they did??). I don't think so. Like I say -- I am not sticking up for them, but I am saying that the standards by which we are all going to be judged, will be much different that what we will be expecting.

:D--> accurate reporting! What is the "zero corps"? --> (that's a new one to me.)

The best advice given, so far. :)-->

((Belle)) -- thanks. I didn't mean to criticize you for your lack of interest, and I'm glad you picked up on that. I've risen above the "old days", and have moved on -- so that will segue into answering your questions about ---- FYI --I got married (and also got involved in twi), in 1975. I left twi, and my wife left me, in 1985. It's been 20 years for me, after those initial 10 years, in both relationships. I never found another woman to marry, nor did I find another "church" to replace twi -- but I still appreciate women, and I still like the Word. ;)--> That's all I meant by those comments on the Nephilim thread. I didn't toss out the bible, just because there was a bad apple in the barrel. Like I said - I haven't found a church I like, so I don't go. But I don't let that exclude me from trying to stay in fellowship with the Father, and Jesus Christ. Because I have been alone for 20 years now, I honestly feel (many days) that it is just God, Jesus, and me -- walking the varied paths my feet find to travel (these days) ;)--> I find it easier to distrust humans, and shun relationships (spiritual or physical), because they have ended up sour, even though I know it doesn't always happen that way (example -- my parents -- married for 54 years now). I find that discussion of doctrinal topics, or debate about "splitting hairs", does a wonderful job of getting me back on track, when I slip from the "spiritual thinking". It gets me thinking about all the possibilities that are involved in life, and realizing that there is more to life than what was propounded by vpw and co. It also helps me move further and further away from what I was taught 20 years ago. God is very, very real to me -- and I'll be d*mned if I let twi steal that relationship from me.

I agree with Shellon. The Word did not cost me anything (such as the persecutions that folks in other countries are going through because they choose to be believers), but twi --- well, that is a different story. I don't even want to begin to think of "the cost". I'd rather not dredge up old memories. But thanks for asking. :)-->

Heard that on the Sean Hannity show, about an hour ago. How long's the trial been going on? A year or so now?
-
My feelings, exactly.

And after it was signed, I can only guess where it was applied!! :P-->

Would that be on a sheet of toilet paper? :D-->

Belle -- that's too bad, but is up to you. Just a *for instance*, were you to go to a McDonald's, and get a bad burger -- would that keep you from going to other burger joints?? Perhaps it might, and I am not criticizing you for your choice, but looking at the larger picture -- the one rotten apple (in this case - twi) doesn't need to spoil the entire barrel. Glad to hear you know what you want to do, and what you want to believe!!

And though poems don't decisively "prove the point", may I offer this verse, that I picked up several years ago. :)-->

Well -- if they went the *sky* route, they would have no new converts. And if they went the *fry* route, they might start a whole new ministry, and would perhaps be happier there! :D--> I don't know where they are going, any more than I do for myself. Facetiousness aside, they will get what they deserve, as will all of us. And though their *misdeeds* are open, and evident -- who is to say that those they committed are worse than those of ours which are *in secret*. --> You can probably guess where I would like to see them, but I wonder if I might not end up in the same place, due to things I have done. Gives one cause to ponder the greater implications. Since we are not going to be the ultimate judge, it makes you wonder what the standards of *judgement* are going to be, and how it will be applied, to all, regardless of what we perceive as *gross misdemeanors*, in our own eyes. Just an imo, and still trying to think it through. Paradise, and it's occupants, will not be what our perception of it is, but rather what God, and Jesus Christ decide.

days of our lives?? I was a fan of Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman!

Let him posit that question to all who are still "at da farm", there in Ohio, and see what kind of response he gets from them! :D--> A show with that format -- I'd watch that one, but other than that, he isn't that interesting.

Rachel -- good question. If one does not believe in the various "dispensations", then *forever* must mean just that. :)-->

Wierwille's Wacky Dispensationalism
dmiller replied to TheEvan's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
So I guess we all do the same, just within our own boundaries, guidelines, "acceptable limits", etc. :)--> I have no problem with anyone, of any persuasion, asking questions or making statements, in any of the threads available here at GSCafe. It never hurts to have one's belief's challenged, so that one has to think about what they believe, rather than accept it blindly. Mental slumber, and lack of questions is what I was used to in twi. Not here. -

Goey -- simple (at least to me). Something about a dog returning to it's vomit -- comes to mind. Perhaps not in the case of George, but I wouldn't doubt it. There are areas in my life (that I am no longer connected with), that I continue to return to. Some "force" seems to draw me back to that which I no longer acknowledge. Guess it is true -- opposites attract. :)--> -
I'm surprised no one has made a comment about mixing politics, with religion!! :D-->
-
WordWolf -- heh heh. Patrick Henron's introductory "blurb" speaks of some one "other than the Egyptians" building those things. Without having read further, my guess is that it's all the work of the Amazing Sea- Monkeys from Mars!!! Eagle -- the book does look interesting, but I need to look at the site more. Thanks for the link. :)-->

The "luminaries" are Caballero, Cummins, Geer, Shneider, Townsend, and Wilkinson. Sounds like a law firm. -->

Radar -- if you care to look for that "prophecy" you mentioned, the POP can be found on Pat's site THE PATH OF CHRIST MINISTRY. He has it labeled -- parts one - five there, so I'm guessing it is the entire thing, complete with signatures at the bottom, of the "luminaries".
