    PAW: Where

    I think it's purty! WhiteDove -- looks like ya flew a little too low, and got a sock caught in your mouth, from some clothes line somewhere.!! Well -- if you can't KILL THE THREAD, you can sure sock it to them. :P-->
  2. Yep -- like when I started the "Who's Running This Ship" thread. I could have mentioned that it was an actual ship, with sailors, and alcohol involved -- instead of leaving folks to speculate about the title, when first seen! :D--> But then again --- curiosity killed the cat comes into mind too! ;)--> I hear what you are saying, but Vickles is 100% correct on this one. :)-->
  3. JT --- back at cha!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

    Sudo -- :)--> :)--> I first heard "Still, Still, Still" in German class, many years ago, and still remember some of the words (from the chorus); "Still, still, still, weils Kindlein schlafen will! Maria tut es niedersingen, ihre keusche Brust darbringen, still, still, still, weils Kindlein schlafen will." I don't remember all of the word's meaning now (from the German), but that is a great tune. Thank you!
  7. Yes you do!! :)--> Abigail said it best, and reflects of lot of our hearts here, when she said; God bless, and Merry Christmas to you. David
  8. Can't answer the *why* part of it, but I can say "attitude". --> Working in the health-care industry, there are many homosexeuals employed by the company I work for, and while the men are more caring, the women seem to have an issue about their *orientation*, while the men make no big deal about it. Recently -- one woman (a lesbian) forced many of the folks at DRCC (where I work), to take a "diversity" class -- and even those more open minded than I -- agreed that it was a total waste of time. Like I say -- I cannot answer the *why*, but I will say that no male homosexual that works for our company would have thought of foisting this on the rest of us. We deal with folks that are shunned by the rest of the world, because of their disabilities. And in my (imho), we are the last group of folks on planet earth, that need *diversity* training. Attitude says it all, and this is a "just for instance opinion" on my part, but I am guessing that the woman who is lesbian, is more assertive than her *gay* male counter-part, simply because she is a woman, and feels the need to prove herself, as well as her declared sexuality *preference*. Y'all rip me a new one, if you want -- but that is what I think, and I don't really care. FYI -- The best worker at the Noumenon House, where I work at is a gay man -- and he and I get along fine. He is a h*ll of a lot more sensitive than this woman who got the diversity crap going into "big meeting" mode. JD --(the woman) -- wears a chip on her shoulder 24/7, and dares you to knock it off. Rob (my co-worker) did his best to hide the fact of his *orientation* (though we knew it from the minute we interviewed him), and once he found out we knew (and did not care) he never made an issue of it, and settled into the business of taking care of the four guys we were all hired to take care of, and didn't give us any of that "diversity" crap. from my perspective -- and I've seen it happen -- women are on a mission to prove themselves (as if they need to) --> and lesbian women are doing so twice as hard -- since they have "more to prove". So maybe I do have an *answer* as to "why". Who knows?
  9. UH --- the folks I work with all prefer the "oldies" station on the radio. Think I'll request that tune when I go into work, today! :)--> (I can't quit humming it either!) ;)-->
  10. "Atlantis" by Donovan --- now you're taking me back where I wanna be. Haven't heard that song since I don't know when. Short story --- I went to a parochial school, and Sister Regina Marie was my music teacher. She taught me piano, and bass, and in the 7th grade she took myself and a coupla others over to the church, and showed us how to play the pipe organ they had there, so we could play for the mass that was held each day before school was held. I went to that school though the 8th grade, but kept in contact with her afterwards. She gave me unlimited access to the choir loft, and the organ (the church was unlocked in those days -- but the choir loft and the organ were not), reminding me only that I was to turn the organ off when I was done. I used to play Atlantis (among other tunes) on that thing (three keyboards, pedals, huge bank of pipes on the wall, etc.) with all the "swell" I could get out of it, and filled that church with some really righteous notes -- and the acoustics were pretty awesome -- so it wasn't hard to get lost in what I was doing, and keeping track of time meant nothing -- I was there for hours at a stretch. I started going there *after-hours* before I even had a car (the church was 2 miles from my house -- and within easy bicycling distance). I always figured I was the only one there -- but many a night, after I would lock up, I'd go to my bicycle and find a note of gratitude from some IU student (this was in Bloomington, Indiana) that had been in there that night seeking whatever personal solace they were looking for, and found the music "inspiring". What a good tune that is! :)-->
  11. Yup --- wanted to get an idea of the melody, so I hauled out "Mr. Martin", and strummed along. It would be a good one for the banjo too (I'm trying the song on it next!) :)-->
  12. Since you gave us the chords -- I had to try it out. :D--> Good tune --- I like that Bm chord.
  13. *Bonding* at it's best, especially if breakfast is included afterwards, and you're picking up the tab! :)-->
  14. Galen -- while I do not tithe -- I do give as I see the need. Perhaps my first answer to #1 was a bit facetious, but it is also true that (like Shellon), I now have money to spend on myself. On the other hand -- (while I do give regularly to a *famous* off-shoot), I also have money in my pocket to give to those on the street, here in my town. Because I am not "locked in" to a certain percentage, I probably give more away than before, yet feel all the *richer* for it. :)-->
  15. Number One -- I have to go with NOTHING -- since I don't save, and spend it if I have it; Number Two -- what do classes cost these days?? --> Whatever they cost -- I've "saved" everything (by not attending), but then spent it -- on myself! ;)-->
  16. (I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds much better than the kool-aid offered by other outfits).
  17. :D--> If you don't like the coffee, try the pear water! ;)-->
  18. :D--> :D--> Now -- Who's Hank?? --> Is it God? Or vpw? :D--> I vote for the latter!
