    Another GS Wedding?

Geez -- I certainly didn't mean to steal the thunder from Goey and Cowgirl's announcement. There's probably many a good song writer here on site. I'm just pleased to have been the one asked. But thank you all. Glad you like it. :)-->

    Another GS Wedding?

:D--> :D--> :D--> It's about time!! Guess I had best send you the music to the words soon! ;)--> ------------------------------------------------------------- Nancy (aka Cow Girl), asked me several months ago, for a simple tune that she could play for Bill (aka Goey), at their wedding. Me -- being hugely ignorant of what is simple, as well as appropriate, decided to compose this tune for them, for her to play at the occasion. Here are the lyrics for you here at GS to see. I don't do real well with wedding songs, but this one came pretty easy. Now that the announcement is official --- congrats to you two! :)--> For: Bill and Nancy By: David Miller 9/13/04 Wide Open Spaces 1) Wide open spaces, Beckoning to me. Offering peace, And Serenity. Where mountains rise, into the skies To meet the setting sun. Is better shared by a pair, instead of only one. Instead of only one 2) This wide open space, Here within my heart. Today is being filled, And our new life will start. Where mountains rise, into the skies, To meet the setting sun. That now is shared by a pair, instead of only one. Instead of only one. (chorus) When two on earth agree, Promising to be as one. God above is smiling, And so is His Son. The lonely road once traveled, Is lonely no more. Hand in hand together, Forever more. 3) Today is the beginning, Together in His care. By joining hearts today, Both of us will share; Endless skies, Where mountains rise But no more setting sun. Eternity, for you and me, Has just today begun Has just today begun.
  5. Thanks!! That works. I tried all sorts of configurations, but did not think of making it a "wing", instead of a "wig". The RED WIG threw me for a loop, as did the HUTMAN SITE. Now I'll go and look at the right one!

    Divine Humor

Makes you wonder, eh? A friend of mine (bass player for a little bluegrass/country trio) always said that when it was his time to go, he wanted it to be on stage, doing what he loved best - playing music. Well -- he and his group were performing one of their regular Saturday night gigs at a small bar here in town, and he asked the guitar player to do a certain song, saying that was one of his all time favorites. They didn't use a set list, so Don (the guitar player) swung right into it, and halfway through the 2nd verse, Joe collapsed over his bass, face down on the floor. There were a couple of paramedics in the audience, and by the time they got to Joe, he was gone. He got his wish, but it sure ruined the night for everyone else. :(-->
  7. All I get is : specified server cannot be found -->
  8. Convincing Oldies of the error of his ways, and total lack of thinking -- is equivilant to getting Mike to renounce pfal. Were either one to happen -- that would be the eighth wonder of the world. -->
  9. MJ -- "God has no hands but our hands", remember? ;)-->
  10. here's another thing you all don't know --- Last time I had morel mushrooms, all fried up good and proper -- was at Morgan Monroe State Forest where I worked in Indiana, and it was a side dish to a rattlesnake that had been killed earlier that day. The rattler was a big one, and had been killed by the assistant manager of the forest. His wife was cooking it up, and we came in with a mess of mushrooms, and no one left hungry that night, after work! PS -- rattler tastes like chicken!! :D-->
  11. Are these the mushrooms that grow in cow pastures and does that mean you also think some things ;)--> should be legal? Belle -- Morels grow in the deep woods, not cow pastures! :D--> They are a delicacy in southern Indiana --- and more so since you can go to the same spot you found them once, only to find that they have moved to a different spot. :(--> and morels are not to be confused with them there psylocibinic halleluiahcegenic type I think yer talking of! :D-->
  12. Yup. It was at twilight, at Gooseberry Falls State Park about 40 miles north east from here. I was on the trails, minding my own business and having a good time, and I spooked a big buck that was right by the ski trail. He took off through the woods, and ran right into the next switchback that I was coming into, and while I did not actually come into contact with him, he crossed the trail about 6 feet in front of me, and I damn near hit his hind legs as he crossed over my skiis. It was that close. :)-->
  13. 8) I was saludictorian in the first, the second, the third, the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. :)--> 7) After grade eight, our school closed and BOTH Sally Johnson and I had to go to a different school. :(--> 6) I once ran into a deer while cross-country skiing. 5) I prefer the static of the CB, to music on the radio when traveling long distances. 4) I like to hunt for ginseng, and morel mushrooms. 3) There are projects I started here at the house 20 years ago, that are still not finished. 2) I've got an over 400,000 mile accident-free driving record. 1) My favourite activity is to do nothing at all, all day long -- and after having done so -- to rest.
  14. Shellon -- so you want to definately know what Paw already knows, that he definately knows that we don't want to know, about what he knows, whether we know it or not. Right??
  15. Cathy -- ya gotta read what is written, but since I put it in italics, I can see where you might not have thought of it to be in the original! :P-->
  16. heh heh heh -- that *middle-aged, balding remodeling contractor* wouldn't be anyone WE know, would it??? :D-->
  17. Belle -- that is a new one to me. I've never heard anything other than what I said above. I'm not doubting you for a minute here, but docvic always made sure twi got the biggest cut possible, and he always said that the gross of our earnings were what was to be figured from when abs was concerned. -->
  18. Say it ain't so! :)--> 10) I'm a member of the Bury Manilow fan club. 9) Was fighting forest fires in CA when Elvis died. In his honor, we played Blue Moon Of Kentucky the way it was originally done -- bluegrass style.
  19. I remember docvic saying that many a time, but I didn't listen. Was married at the time, and we gave 10%, after taxes -- which wasn't a whole lot cause I was working, and she was in school. We did another "no-no" too. We counted any corps sponsorship we gave as ABS as well. To us, it was giving to the *future* of twi, so we figured it counted. Got reamed on that one by the LC a time or two, but we didn't care and continued the practice anyway.
  20. Paternal grandparents -- were Grandma, and Grandpa. Maternal grandparents were Nana, and Papa.
  21. The IRS. twi would shut down in a minute. :)-->
