  1. Is that in Et Tu, Brute' ;)-->
  2. No -- I never met ET. You are talking about Ernest Tubb, the country singer -- aren't you? ;)--> I remember when ET (the movie) came out, and I saw it advertised on the movie theater's marquis. When I saw ET (on the marquis), and I thought -- "cool -- they finally have a movie starring Ernest Tubb". Coupla of us were sharing *dumb moments*, at a jam session once several years ago, and when I mentioned this story to them -- another guy said that when Karaoke (sp?) first came out -- he saw at various bars posters, and ads saying - "Karaoke here tonight", and he wondered how the same *band Karaoke* could be playing at all those places, all on the same evening! :D--> ET RULES!! :)-->
  3. Neat stuff!! :)--> Btw --- I think it was the Dave Clark Five who first knocked the Beatles out of the number one spot (November of 1963), with their hit "Glad All Over". Made it to number 1 in England, but only number 6 in the States.
  4. Oak -- good point, and I agree 100%. The thing that gripes my *** about this whole thing is that we were told that this has to be the way it is. They had to get the denominational "chest huffing and puffing" going on to prove that they once again had *inside info* on what was really meant. I'm all for analogies. They make a point, they help one understand a thing in a better light, they offer added insight, but they are not to be traded for what is really said, and made into doctrine. If docvic and martinfail wanted to really go whole hog --- I would expect them to teach that the gift of Holy Spirit was a Swiss army knife -- since that was the analogy used to describe the gift and the various *usages* all in one package. That of course would be preposterous, but no less so than the athletes *doctrine* foisted on us.
  5. Mike -- for what it is worth -- I am always open to comments, *interpretations*, and teachings on what the bible may have to say. I have never claimed to know it all, and I am the first to admit that others more scholastically inclined than I, have a better handle (if you will) on the subject in question. What I vehemently disagree to, is the lauding *to the heavans* of one man's "work", saying that his ideas are the *revelation* that all need to adhere to. Number 1 -- Docvic stole all that he taught, and passed it off as his own work. Number 2 -- He created a hierarchy that firmly believed in him as the MOG. Number 3 -- He got a bunch of us to believe his line of B (as in) B, and S (as in) S inmho -- docvic is no better than any other *modern day writer*, though I will admit to the fact, that he gives one something to think about, in some of what he presented. This is hardly sufficient grounds to give him credence over other writers, who have differing opinions, and definately NOT sufficient grounds to say that Jesus Christ is reading from pfal. That (with no idea of proper documentation) has got to be the *unforgivable sin*. You exceed yourself. -->

    AGE GAUGE

Belle -- You are from further south than I am, yet --- Where I come from, Ma'am is meant respectfully, and in no way indicative of age. ;)-->
  9. Two car garage for me. Lotsa lumber, windows, extranious stuff there, but plenty of room to park the truck. One garage door does not work (compliments of an arsonist who set it all on fire 15 or 20 years ago, and the springs for the door lost their *resilience*). I like to park in front of the house (quicker to get to the truck), but we have this thing up here called a "snow emergency route", and since I am on one, I cannot park in front of the house for 7 months out of the year, from 2 am until 6 am. I usually drive up the back yard (50 to 60 feet), and leave the truck by the back stairs to my porch -- but if it is really cold (20 or so below), I will park in the garage. The garage is far enough away (in the back alley), that I prefer to have the truck closer, and not to have to negotiate the snow drifts, in order to get to it. I used to be very diligent about shoveling, all the way back to the garage. These days, I drive back and forth up and down the back yard, packing down the snow, so I can walk to the garage, unimpeded. 4-Wheel drive is a wonderful thing!
  10. :D--> :D--> .....and as the *immortal* Victor Borge once said : "I have a Mexican housekeeper who just had twins. She called me to give me the good news. I gave her my congratulations, and asked her, what did you name them?? She said -- Jose', and Josb'! :P-->
  11. My sister has twins (identical), and I could never tell my two nieces apart, until they got older. They were never separated in school, and always shared the same classroom, where both the teacher and the students knew which was which, probably because they were around them all day long. Ironically enough, their younger sister (by one year) looks just like the twins too, and for me -- it wasn't until they became more *teen-age* that I was able tell all three apart. imho --- having a sibling in the classroom falls into the category of *priceless*. :)-->

    It's Time for a Game

Looks like a cat licking up milk (or something) some one spilled on a reallly wiiide angle lense of a video camera, pointing straight up. I would call it (caption-wise), "How To Keep A Polack Busy". :D--> (I'm 1/4 Polack, and watched it for 10 minutes, waiting to see something happen!) -->
  13. Now --- This I can agree with! :D--> The *table* is only as good as the "eats" placed upon it. So far -- the menu from you, hasn't been that appetizing. The tablecloth, has been pulled out from under the plates you have set on the table, and there was a really big mess on the floor. Why pick it up, and try to make it look *edible* again?? Doesn't work. When one places the works of a self-proclaimed Man-of-God above that of scripture, you are denying the Wisdom of the Creator, and are succumbing to the accusation of Romans 1:25 -- Romans 1:25 -- "Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, Who is blessed forever. Amen. Though addressed to Tom, I'll take a shot at this. There is one (and only one) unalterable standard -- and that is the bible, not any work by docvic, or any other person who thinks they *have it right*. What was revealed in the bible, is what is necessary for life and godliness, and any/all books written outside of such, are merely commentaries that give an opinion by the author of *said* commentary, and are not to be in any way confused with scripture. So many authors, over so many years, so many opinions, so many disagreements, so many factions/denominatons, and the two things they all have in common is: A) They all claim to be right; and B) They take all their "postulations" from the bible. I admire you for taking a very *positive* stand on what you believe, but really -- it is time to take off the *rose-colored glasses*, and see the world as it is --- black and white. Ps -- PFAL might be a nice acronym, but BIBLE is a better one: Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth :)--> David

    AGE GAUGE

If you don't mind seeing how the years have flown by, go to AGE GAUGE, and see how you fit in history. :)-->
  16. No -- no nut! :)--> You're right --- those that intentionally cover up a deed, are guilty too. It's a travesty that none of the *back-room boys* who allowed this sort of thing to continue (albeit in different parishes), are called to question as well.
  17. Hi ROR -- I think they are more *culpable* (at least in the eye's of the public), simply because they are a huge denomination, and "main-stream" enough to garner the negative attention. I wish all that did the same could be called into account by the same lawsuits that the RC's are now seeing visited upon them and their ranks --- but unfortunately, it seems that only the really big outfits get the attention when they do something wrong. btw -- when scandals hit *big-time* folks like it did with Jim Baker and Tammy Faye, Jimmy Swaggart, etc. -- the media is all over them too. The larger and more prestigious the group, the more you sell the news stories. Perhaps this is the reason, I don't know for sure --- it's just a thought.
  18. Great pic. And what-do-you-know --- this time it even had music with it!
  19. Ex70's -- Hey bro -- I'm from the south too, and though I live in Minny-soda now, -- those pics remind me more of Norwegian *hicks* (if you will), than anything else!! Look at the boots, and the checkered coats -- a dead give-away to a Norwegian, in "da" northwoods. :D--> And believe it or not -- they say *far-wood* too. Hey -- did you ever hear how a Norwegian does the disco?? Dis go HERE, Dis go DERE. :D--> Lotsa *backwards folks* up here too, but the fun poked at us is returned --pressed down, shaken over, and given in good measure back to those who dish it out!! ;)--> Go thou, and do likewise!! David
  20. Never saw the movie "Emmanuel" (or whatever), but when "Rocky" came out, P*ter Cr*dit -- the current area leader up here (at that time), sat a bunch of us down, gave us a teaching on believing, and then turned on the video, with instructions to look how his (Rocky's) believing got him exactly to the point that he ended up with, in that first film.
  21. Quote me all you want to him!! :)--> If I wuz you -- I'd have him carry more than one pair of them in his glove box. (They do break and rip frequently, if you don't put them on just right.)
  22. ChattyKathy -- "Am I being motherly?" In a word ---NO. Gloves are great, and a necessary item should one run into a situation that might some how infect the *do-gooder*, through no fault of their own. We go through 50 to 100 pairs of gloves weekly on one of our clients alone, and he has no disease that can be passed on, through lack of wearing gloves. It is a safety precaution, pure and simple. Since your son drives a car, I bet he uses a seat belt. I'm guessing he has a spare tire, in case he has a flat. In other words --- it is all about precaution. Hopefully he will never ever have to use them, but when the need arises --------- (have him fill in the blank!!) ;)-->
  23. Krys -- wafer is asking a lower price. especially since it has the *tabs*. I forgot to reckon that into the price I told you. :)-->

    Are you a Genius?

Galen --- very true. One of the residents at the group home I work at, is quite *adept* at putting together jig-saw puzzles. He is 37 years of age, yet has the *mentality* of a 12 year old. He received a gift at Christmas, of 10 puzzles all in one box -- each in their own plastic bag. He systematically opened each and every plastic bag, and poured all the contents together. The totality of pieces involved was around 6,500 in all, and they were all mixed together, in one huge pile. He found 500 pieces to put the first puzzle together in 4 hours. He found the next 500 pieces, to complete the 2nd puzzle, in even less time. He had all those puzzles put together, in less than a week -- and then started complaining that he needed plastic zip-lock bags, to keep the separate puzzles in! :D--> I don't know that there is a *test* to evaluate intelligence like this.
