I've heard this taught several places, that a specific church was/could have been the target for the *teaching*, rather than the over-all application. Don't know the answer myself. And it coulda been a re-married preacher teaching that! ;)-->

Rascal -- Yep, and sometimes I think those that do, are just advertising the fact that they did not *get any* the night before, are frustrated as hell, and looking to take it out on someone, anyone else!! :D-->

THIS is how I would have liked to have read the story in the first place. :)--> :)--> Whoever put this together in this format, thank you! And HCW -- thank you, sir, for telling the story.

The Trinity has met it's match!

I started giving to them, cause I liked what I heard. If I change my mind about the quality of their organization, or it's teachings -- I'll pull support. I never saw myself as either a "cash cow", or a decision making partner for CES. Simply someone who wanted to help out. I'm pretty liberal at giving money to folks, even though I haven't much. I give to down and outers on the street, *religious* organizatiions, etc. Some I feel sorry for, some I believe in. Meebe you can figure out which is which, for me. ;)--> -

The only one already pointed out. It has never been postulated to me (or any one else - that I am aware of) to be anything more than a financial partner. As financial partners our ability to correct error comes from choosing to terminate contributions. And that is good enough for me. :)--> -
Aren' they pozzezed by deebil spirits, and didn't someone, somehwere, a long time ago tell us to avoid folks like that? I envy you Socks -- I've never heard em live. One of these days, one of these days ...

Well -- what the hay?? --> Meebe he is procrastinating, knowing that he is coming here next -- and it is (as always) winter in Minney-soda. We have only two seasons up here. Winter, and road construction.

I like the Confessing Church link, but have questions about the *triune word* they mentioned, as perhaps you do also. Other than that -- it is a good site. Thanks. ;)--> -

Is that All without exception or All without distinction (sorry, couldn't resist) Heh heh heh --- don't cha know --- docvic changed that at the live PFAL 77 class to the following: ALL WITHOUT EXCEPTION or ALL WITH DISTINCTION. But either way (your's, or the *updated version*) fits here at GreaseSpot. The women here are more vociferious, and more demanding that wrongs be made right, than most of the men are. Like I said -- you will fit right in -- whether you are without exception, or with distinction. ;)--> Take your pick, and enjoy the coffee Raf offered. This is a good place to be, if you want to *vent*. And I for one, am learning much from what you have already shared. David -

Tzaia -- my Mother is Presbyterian, and Dad goes to the church too (he quit the Catholic church), more for a social thing than for worship. I guess there are *degrees* of prebyterians, because I can see nothing like this happening at their church. But it is great to hear that it is happening, and that it has such a positive effect. :)--> -

I looked at the lampstand link. Who is Jack Pitzer?? --> My hometown is in Bloomington, Indiana. There sure are a lot of "banquets" happening down there, according to the schedule. -

Tzaia -- ALL WOMEN here are assertive, and logically minded! :D--> :D--> It's something us poor guys have to deal with, and if truth be known, I think most of us kinda like it. You'll fit right in here at GreaseSpot! -

There is a staff photo at Truth or Tradition?? I went over there, but couldn't find it. -

ROA - 1975. Wasn't that the year docvic stood on stage in the pouring rain, with an umbrella held over the bible, but not himself?? Guess Martinfail took his *cue* from that.

Mark -- great point. I've been guity of the same. I was able to take books *recommended* by CES to see a new viewpoint, read them, and then try to make a decision -- but like twi -- I found myself starting to take their word for it, rather than actually checking it out for myself. -

Tzaia -- Thank you for your detailed, well-thought through, and informative response. You just presented a side of CES that I have not seen, yet I will not doubt, or question what you have to say. It is obvious that you are heartfelt, and sincere -- and far be it from me to doubt such veracity. I do not see the *ins and outs* of daily life there, as you do (or did). From a distance things look fine (much like my experience with twi), yet when a microscope is put to the issue/organization at hand, it is better wielded by one who is *on site*, as you have done. You have given me a lot to *chew over* here. Thank you both for your honesty, and your willingness to see things in a *positive* light, despite the fact that it has meant loss to you. From all you have said -- I will be re-thinking my financial contributions to them as well. Fyi -- I have seen CES go from an information based ministry, to what is now a full-fledged *church*, and though I do not doubt that they are doing good, I still have to wonder about the direction being taken. God bless, and thank you again for your very excellent response. -
