  1. Tonight, it is great. Maybe the *bugs* have found their way out of the system? Hoping this continues. :)-->
  2. Catholic charismatics were the ones who taught me how to speak in tongues. Then (years later) -- in a twig, I was called on to sit, and interpret, before having had the intermediate class. I did it just fine, and some comments from the others there at that meeting were "wow!! you could interpret, and you haven't even taken the intermediate class yet!!" The twig leader (I forget who it was now), caught holy hell for calling on an *uninitiated* person to do the manifestations! I did it just like docvic said it should be done, and now I know that he was absolutely wrong about his *version* of interpretation of tongues, and what I did at that meeting was actually a word of prophecy (even though it was prefaced by the s.i.t.), and NOT an interpretation of the tongues that preceded it. But I think all were blessed by it anyway. I know I was! :)-->
  3. How to get *past it all* is the million dollar question, and unfortunately, my answer is only worth about 2 cents!! :D--> Seriously -- Laleo posted this in the doctinal forum, on the pfal thread (from page 13), and it makes perfect sense. To which I agree. Getting *past it all* means doing things that were forbidden before. Go to a church that teaches something not propounded by twi (if you're so inclined). Buy, listen to, and keep CD's of groups that play secular music, and not music that is ministry endorsed. Go visit your neighbors, but only to say "hi", and NOT to witness. Spend time on the internet, at the local library, at the movies, in a local club seeing live music, be a part of your community -- and not at odds with it. I used to go to jam sessions every week, and was castigated for it by twi folks here in town, cause I missed twig while doing so. Well, for a while I gave in to twi demands, but guess what was the first thing I did after I got out?? I tuned up the fiddle, and rosined up the bow, and re-claimed my life. That's how I got *past it all*. You can do the same, if you follow and pursue your interests, and just do as you please. As Laleo said -- God is found (and honored) in many different venues. But then again -- I think you know all that already. :)-->
  4. I know I've posted this one here before, but here it is again: How does The Man of God change a light bulb?? --> He doesn't. He just holds it up, and lets the world revolve around him!
  5. John -- Thanks. :)--> I had never heard of him before.
  6. Ha! My "comparision" of the two was made to point out that in actuality there is "no comparision" between Acts 6 and twi of today -- whereas in reality, there should be every comparision -- if twi were really interested in doing the *work of the Ministry*, instead of serving their own purposes.
  7. Who is Michael Fort..... ?? -->
  8. And Radar -- I am not speaking of any one specific person, since I know there were *good hearts* there at hdqtrs along with those that were less than good. I am commenting on the original post, where there was one set of rules for those in the field, and another for those who weren't. My *gravy job* comment was directed at the top 1, 2, or 3 folks that seem to benefit the most from all the abs, the work, etc., from "joe believer", and then sitting there *lording* it over all the others.
  9. Yep -- so true. Am guessing the *leadership* at hdqtrs never did learn the lesson from Acts. The *thumbs* aren't even serving tables like the original 12 did, much less doing the ministry of the Word. What's the word I'm looking for?? uhhhhmmm, oh yea, GRAVY JOB. Friend of mine used to say : If ya want the gravy, ya got to pick up the spoon! The *thumbs* don't even want to pick up the spoon -- choosing to be spoon-fed instead.
  10. Ah yes -- the *haves*, and the *have-nots*. The *privilidged*, and the *down trodden*. The *upper class*, and the *no-class*. The *thumbs*, and those *under the thumb*. Things never change, do they?
  11. Not I. A mite "nervous" from time to time, but never paranoid. :)-->
  12. I find the *spirit upon*, and the *spirit within* a plausible way of thinking -- since *spirit within* is never taken away in the New Testament, the way it was in the Old. Not saying it makes docvic right, but just saying it is something to think about. And (with my *way-colored glasses* on) -- I have always thought that Adam and Eve each had their own *spirit*, but now I am not so sure. and Oak -- you said: I know a Messianic pastor who preaches that "A thousand years are as one day with the Lord" -- so he maintains that Adam died in THE DAY (ie -- less than 1,000 years old) physically, and not spiritually. I'm getting ready to pull a quarter out of my pocket, flip it, and call it in the air -- heads or tails!! :D-->
  13. heh heh - I know some liberal folks who have bumper stickers that say: The Moral Majority Is Neither. (as if they are qualified to judge.) ;)-->
  14. I was in AC '79, and then again (for AC grads in Minnesota) in '81. No singing, or lining up was the order of *the day* back then. Duk* Clark ran the '81 class, and he was pretty laid back about the whole thing. But -- at AC '79 -- we did have to listen to "Beautiful Ohio" each morning on our early morning march to the auditorium. I mighta left then and there, if we were required to stand in line, and sing it! :D-->
  15. They may as well have been, they make just as much sense. -->
  16. Hmmm -- with that size, if she didn't know how to commit suicide, (and wanted to do so) -- she would have read in the *handbook* "shoot yourself under the left breast". I bet she would have been hospitalized, with a bullet in her left knee-cap! :D-->

Ha -- I don't. It is all ONE BOOK, and what was said in Genesis is just as relevant as what is said in Revelation. Oeno -- Good question, and I can only guess that Jesus would do the same thing He did while walking here on earth. Ruffle a few feathers here and there, comfort those in need, love all, be adamant about the scripture, and never give in to the *status quo*. Somehow -- I think that His being in Heavan has intensified this *mission*, and He would do the same all over again. Just an IMHO.
  18. I'll always remember our dog Tris, the first pet our family ever had -- a boxer that I remember (as a kid) as always having been there. Tris got old, and couldn't hardly move, and my folks had to make the decision to *put him down*. My brother and I were around the same age as your eldest, Psalmie, when Tris was going to be put to sleep. I remember sitting by the fireplace with him, my Dad, and my brother. We gave him all the love we could for one more night, knowing that the next day he would be gone forever. It ain't easy. It never is. "Family" walks in the house on four legs sometimes, instead of two. And you miss them just as much, when they are gone.
  19. Now -- that makes me wonder about the Old Testament, where the spirit got taken off one person, and given to another. And when there were many prophets, were there many spirits *upon them* too, or just one? Am betting docvic, and twi would say that it was just one then, though the story changes once the Acts' account of Pentecost is reached. Of course -- now it is *spirit within*, rather than *upon* -- so maybe that would qualify the twi line of thought. And then there is the spirit that "died" when Adam sinned (that was restored on the day of Pentecost) -- but that raises another question. Did Adam and Eve have their own personal spirit, or did they share one? ;)-->
  20. outadafog -- Thank you for saying (so eloquently) what all of us non-corps should have said a long time ago. I "second" the thanks. :)-->

    Breathtaking !!

My yard has a lot of white and purple Iris, columbine of many colors, and lily of the valley too. I like the flower of the columbine the best -- but you can't beat the lily of the valley for the fragrance.
