  1. The one time I tried to go into that auditorium, I was denied entrance. It was at the Rock in '85, which was the last ROA I went to. They were doing a production of AOS, and it was for central region folks only. I was stopped at the door, asked where I was from. I told the guy Minnesota, and he said --"Oh, this is for the central region. Your region's showing has already taken place. You should have gone to that one." I told him I couldn't make the one held up here, but he wouldn't let me in. Now I'm glad he didn't. I never did see AOS either - till JAL showed up here in Minnesota about 8 years later, and talked about it like you mentioned, igotout. From a musician's POV -- I thought AOS sucked, right from the get go. The music was so depressing, it made you want to hide to get away from it all. The over-abundance of minor chords, and discordant notes thrown together (from what I remember) cast a pall on the entire room of folks who were there for that meeting. I couldn't even concentrate on the *dance*, or the *symbolism*. Music is indeed a powerful thing - and can be used to set the mood effectively, completely, and easily. I couldn't believe that such a depressing score had been chosen to be the music for what was touted as such a "Great Production" --> If any of you musicians out there happened to have played for AOS, I apologize if you think I am directing this against you, or any of the musicians. I am not! The quality of music was probably pretty good (notes on a music score are notes - nothing else). But the choice of what was performed really rankled me. When I heard the music, and realized that it had to have been approved by the really high-up folks -- I thought "The law of gravity is once again proved". Law of Gravity -- "What's in the Brain, Drains out at the mouth"

  7. Ps -- Flat made it here fine Zshot, even though you sent him to Deluth, and not Duluth. ;)--> zip codes --- priceless!
  8. Flat Stanley "B" is in da house. He finally arrived here in Minnesota. He missed the John Beargrease sled dog marathon, but got here in time to go shopping with me for new fiddle strings, at the foot of the Ariel Lift Bridge, that Hape4me's great grand-dad oversaw the building of. The bridge is 100 years old this year, so Flat will get a history lesson, right off the bat. ;)-->
  9. Steve! -- I agree. Belle -- tell your friend she's got prayers from me. God can find a way out, where there seemingly is none. David
  10. Ps --- Socks -- Ya got room for a Fiddlepicker in yer Praizze and Wurship band? --> Sure would admire to "pick along" with y'all. I guarantee that my picking will have your congregation laughing even harder, and you'll see more *change* than you thought possible!! :D--> Contact me at Sour Strings if I have a shot at it. ;)-->
  11. I do too, and on top of what Skyrider said -- you're polite as well :)--> I am not *anonymous* -- dmiller is my real name, and anything I have said about twi comes from me -- not some screen-name out there in cyber space. Sure - I had some good times in twi (see my post on page one of this thread), but like Belle said -- it was early on, and not towards the end of my tenure with twi. In the beginning it was all about service to our fellow man (my take on it, anyway) -- and it deteriorated into service for twi. I was never a leader or anything, just a *leaf*, but the legalism soon over-rode the *giving* aspect of life, and robbed me of the joy of giving to some individual on the street, since he/she weren't in the *ministry*. I didn't mind supporting twi (at the time), but when I was told I was *off the Word* for giving to someone in need, and not "abundantly sharing to twi", that is when I started having some serious doubts. It's a treat to be able to give whatever I can to whomever needs it, whenever it is *available*, without worrying about what someone down in New Knoxville thinks about it. Which gets us back to the original intent of this thread --- ministering to people is much more than just getting them to twig, signing them up for the class, or following *party doctrine*. It's getting down in the gutter with them, so you can help them out (even if only briefly), to do what you can to make their life a little better -- one moment at a time. :)--> David

  13. ha -- no it doesn't *turn me on* -- and as I said -- I am not promising to be there, so if'n y'all want suds -- don't count on me to be bringing them. Right now -- that week-end is a good possibility, but it isn't *written in stone* for me yet. :)-->
  14. Heh heh -- actually -- (NOT promising) -- I will be in Indiana around then, and am scrambling to include that week-end in my vacation time, and swing by the *bash* on my way back to Minnesota. Like I say -- not promising -- but you can slap my hand then. :)-->
  15. :D--> Sorry Cindy! -- couldn't resist!! ;)-->

  17. I agree. I got in a discussion with someone a while back about *patriotism* and oil. They maintained it was more patriotic to stop driving suv's and other big vehicles than it was to drill for oil in Alaska. I don't see either as being *patriotic*, but drilling for oil in Alaska makes sense to me, and actually could be labeled *patriotic*, since it would lessen dependance on foreign countries. Other than that I don't see his job (or loss thereof), or other jobs as being patriotic. If the low bidder gets the contract -- that is just good business sense.
  18. Oh -- another PS --- JAL first went to the Philippines in 1991, "talking the talk". This is the kind of response he and CES are getting today, in 2005. How long have you been talking your talk? ; and What kind of "fan mail" (for your talk), have you gotten? --> . .
  19. I do too. I agree to this also. A) It is snake oil; and B) docvic sold it, but did not invent it; Never did hear CES teach about *red drapes* . And I never heard CES *propound a formula* to achieve that like docvic did about "believing". Then to you CES is an *echo* of all that docvic taught about "believing"? Trusting in God, and His promises is one thing, while *mind control* (ie -- believing) is another. True. I hope his life straightens out too, and for his personal good. What he has taught, and what he has dealt with, are two different things (just an IMHO). I for one, do not know that the *nonsense* he is teaching, led him to this current state. Do you?? "He's been wrong....." Your opinion, and you are entitled to it. Others see what he has taught in a different light --
