Cindy! --- yes - at first that is true, and that is the scary part that deters so many from taking immediate action when impropriaties are found out. Maybe I am off base here, but I'm thinking that is it easier these days to find new friends and companions after such an experience -- given all the *support* groups that seem to be popping up on a daily basis. Granted -- it is like stepping off the gangplank at first, but once you do, and actively seek new friends, etc., you can start the process of healing by getting involved with *life as we know it*, as well as unloading on attentive ears as to what you have gone through. There is comfort, and strength in numbers. No more *lonely* for me.

Not! ;)--> gc (who is so particular about her coffee that she brings her own when she travels!) GC -- I think I like you! :D--> When I travel -- I take my coffepot with me and pull into the waysides by the freeway, and brew a fresh pot or two on the spot. I get some strange looks there at the waysides -- but hey. We got coffee, the *high octane* stuff!

:D--> :D--> :D--> "Ya learn more here by accident, than anywhere else by design!" Joe Soucheray Ps. --- good stories, all of them.

I heard something like this yesterday, but couldn't find any stories about it. Thanks for the link, Shellon.

Just found Out --- Hey there. Welcome to Greasespot. :)--> Skyrider -- That's the truth. We had *freedoms* back in the 70's that have totally disappeared, to be replaced by a dictatorship. Why anyone would willingly subject themselves to iron-fisted regimentation from those who are only interested in attendance numbers and money, is beyond me. Twi doesn't even have a carrot to dangle in front of the horse anymore.

My idea of gun contol is --- Having a Steady Aim!

I ain't arguing that the meds help, but giving *an old dog*, a new name doesn't change the situation. Meds mask the problem, and control it -- they do not cure, or alleviate it. A schizoprenic with no psycotropic meds is a scary proposition for even the most expereienced in the field, and when *said* experienced folks run across a situation like this -- *demon possessed* is the first thing that runs through the mind. Now -- sorry for the de-rail -- back to the "gay teen-ager" thread.

Danteh -- I hear that. And yes -- the *glory years* I mentioned were those before POP showed up, and the S*** hit the fan. You make a good point -- they coulda been counting all that had taken the class, or even included all world-wide *affiliates* as well. Strength in numbers -- or something like that, eh?

John -- I haven't a clue as to how many are still involved these days (I just found out recently that there is an active *limb* here in Minnesota, though it seems to be localized in the Mpls./St.Paul area), so I can't help you there -- but I do have a question that perhaps you, or someone else here can answer. I have always wondered what the *max* membership of twi has been, in it's peak years. I have heard numbers ranging from 85,000, to over 100,000 folks. And then I have heard less than that. Any input on this?? I know lots of folks left (and I was one of them), but I've always been curious as to how many *standing believers* were there in the *glory years*, and how many were at one time counted as being *in the way*. Maybe this is another thread entirely, but just thought I would toss it out here, in hopes of finding someone who might give a definative answer. David

Wyte -- I really am too dumb to post pics!!:(--> But I bet your brother Dove could do it. :)-->

There is the quote from the link Cindy!. Am neither condemning, or advocating his actions, just giving you what he said. David

GC -- welcome to Greasespot! 1st post, and you're quoting Lennon/McCartney. That'll get you everywhere around here. :D--> :D-->

Musta been a *way tree* they were digging up, to find that much cash at the root level! :D-->

And as Diazbro said : I happened to land here a year or so ago, thankful for what was being hashed over then, and getting more info, each time things are cussed, and discussed. :)--> If going over things here helps others -- so be it, no matter how many times it happens to be said.

Cherished Child -- Belle (for one) has done a very good job of changing all that.

Paw -- THANK YOU!!! An awesome new chat room!! It takes a bit longer to get in there, but once I am, it is absolutely worth it!!! Love the new controls, with the easier access to the smilies and the extra colors for the text that are there, and usable with extreme ease now. ( I do miss "mrgreen", seen as :D--> though) You've got a real *playground* there, as well as a first-rate chat room. (Ps -- I should have copied your *cricket* story, before I logged out of there, but forgot that that was an option now *available* too. Maybe next time!) :P-->

HA!! So you will be working, when Ex70's is sipping margaurita's somewhere, eh? :D--> :D-->

Ex70's -- Ya want to hear something that really sux -- the last fiddle contest I was in -- they told me I was now in the *senior* category. (and they weren't talking about ability, either). -->

Groucho -- thanks!! That was it. :)-->

My guess is Karl Barth errrr --- Carl Roth!! :D-->

Topoftheworld -- that is exactly what happened to me. :)--> The very first thing I did once I got internet service, was look up twi, to see what was going on with them these days. I found this site about 2 years ago, and never turned back. Even though *old things* have been hashed, and re-hashed -- when I first found it, it was all eye-opening, and new to me too. Welcome to the Cafe. You are now in contact with folks who have gone through a lot of the same, and no -- you will never be alone again.
