  1. And a quick ps ---Happy Birthday, Bro! David
  2. Jonny -- I thought of quoting your entire original post, but it would be redundant, and pointless -- since you did the right thing, and have nothing to be ashamed of. The fact that your son had a bad day right before a special one for you, says nothing against either of you -- feces happens -- and usually at the most inopportune times. You did your best, you did well, and forgiveness was sought for in the end. I personally don't think you could have done better. Lessons were learned all the way around -- and that's what life is -- learning one big lesson, and graduating with honors. Methinks you all just got your *Master's* degree. :)-->

    Guilty

    Mike K. -- Welcome to Greasespot! You can tell us anything around here, cause like you -- we all also have a *degree* from the "School Of Hard Knoxville", just like you. Don't neverrrr everrrr feel guilty about *cheating* God if you are looking at it like twi does. Of course it is possible to *cheat God* by not giving your best, or doing wrong, or sinning, etc., but my Bible seems to be missing that verse about *not even spitting my direction*, if ya catch my meaning, and get my drift. :D--> Any-whoo -- welcome. Say what you will, and as often as you need to. You are among friends, and family. :)-->
  4. Signals -- you saw through it all faster than I did. I was *in* (as in *a member* - and NOT rich!) in '75 -- but didn't leave till 86, or 87. Your perception supercedes mine! :D-->
  5. Yea -- That's John Juedes' site, right?? Some good stuff there too.
  6. It's Donner's birthday?? (How's come I can't find roses here, like I can in the chatroom?) Have a happy one, Donner! :)--> David
  7. It may not qualify for *geek-dom*, but it certainly makes you Admirably suited to be in charge of defense!
  8. In case you don't know him signals, Pat's site is EX CULT WORLD, and he posts here too.
  9. Don't think so -- but Pat would know for sure.
  10. It's the thought that counts! :D--> :D-->
  11. Thanks for the new word "disparate", Trefor! I can now use that with "apposite". :D--> But truthfully - yes we are. Twi took a big chunk of our lives, and now we want it back. And this is the place to find it. And - the - folks - here - are - GREAT! Disparate opinions that are so apposite, with learning to be had by all. ;)--> It's a winning combination.
  12. Maybe the biggest geek (or perhaps the smartest one) can figure out this math question/riddle: From the blog "Secular Blasphemy", and I didn't get it at all. :(--> Anybody willing to take this one on?? Steve!?, Zixar?, Garth?, or any other math whiz out there? :D-->
  13. Yea -- I guess I can. For one, I don't know if Walter had any skeletons in his closet, but given the way twi was going, he was a better man than they deserved. Again -- just my imho, since I am not/was not privy to all that happened back then.
  14. OutIn88 - good bio! And thanks for breaking it down like you did. Easier on the eyes that way. :)-->
  15. For some reason -- I always thought Walter would get the job. But then again, I never knew all the *ins and outs* that were happening a thousand miles away from me either.
  16. Fortunately, we are here to listen. Say on! ;)-->
  17. Signals -- heck-uv-a first post there!!! Welcome to Greasespot! --> -->
  18. The only clothes I have been loathe to throw out, are the t-shirts I have gotten from past Bluegrass festivals. I keep them because of the great logos on them from the various bands I purchased them from, or the music company advertised, or the event from which it all took place at. Granted -- some of the clothes I have are from back in 1975 and thereabouts, but they still fit me, so why get rid of them?? They are more or less "hiking and camping" clothing, and have lasted admirably all these years. I don't do much hiking or camping (these days), so I have been thinking of donating them to Goodwill. And I probably will. ;)--> Now if you are talking about music items -- well -- NOTHING goes in the trash! I have tapes of jam sessions from as early as 1969, that even though I don't listen to them much anymore -- I would never throw them out. I used to even keep old strings from the guitar, mandolin, fiddle, or the banjo after I changed them -- but about 10 years ago, I decided to start throwing them out after I put new ones on, and have an extra set of new ones on hand, instead of old rusty strings. Both men and women hang onto things, just differently. My sister-in-law has an entire attic full of outfits she has purchased for herself, and many of those items were bought on the spur of the moment, and never worn. My brother told me this, and I kinda doubted it. My Dad however, confirmed the story after visiting my brother and his wife in Texas, and told me that he was up in their attic, and many, many of those outfits were hanging there, in plastic, and still had the price tags on them. Kelly (my sister-in-law) qualifies as OCD/B, and I realize that is not the case with most women, but everyone hangs onto *stuff* ps. --- OCD/B = Obsessive Compulsive Disorder/Behavior.
  19. And to add to what Diazbro said, may I also say that very many folks left in 1986 -'87, and the reverberations felt within the *ministry* would be compararable to a 9.0 earthquake (on the Richter scale), from which they have never recovered, nor will they ever. You may claim numbers are up, but up from what?? --> Up from the low that twi has reached, since a lot of us left, and never looked back? A *last gasp* before they expire entirely? Oh -- and the *imminent demise* is already in progress, and has been so for 2 decades now -- perhaps numbers are up from that, as well? You can think what you wish, and I wish you God speed in doing so, cause it is a free country. Every rag-tag outfit anywhere on this, God's green earth, will find followers somewhere to believe what they are saying, and I suppose twi will too, but the more they *preach*, the less they have in membership. If you want a real eye-opener --- CES (I'm thinking) is now bigger than twi, and they teach a lot of the same stuff, minus the legalism. :)--> The Word of God is worth pursuing -- but not by hanging onto outfits that are promoting themselves instead. If you don't want to move on, don't. But IMHO -- it would be *best* for you, if you did. :)--> David
  20. Cindy! -- Check your Private topics. :)-->
  21. I heard about that burger, and it is said that if you can eat it in 5 hours, it's free. :)--> Don't be waiting for me to take the challenge!!
