  1. I would like to know who took that picture. :D-->
  2. And it had to happen up here in Minny-Soda. --> Yea -- but it seems the further north you move, the less you think of things like that!
  3. I agree Radar. :)--> Remember the "born to live, born-again to serve" line? I too believe we were born-again to serve. But to serve mankind, and NOT twi. David
  4. I have a small table on my back deck, that I put out bread for the squirrels. Today I added the peanut butter, and the pieces of bread weren't there for even 5 minutes, before a squirrel came bounding through the tree branches, and landing on the deck. Usually - they eat the bread - but this time -- the squirrel ate all the peanut butter, part of the bread, threw the rest away, and went for more peanut butter on the other pieces. He/she was there for about 2 minutes, when a blue jay showed up as well as 4 or 5 seagulls -- all vying for the same food. Squirrel fends off the blue jay, grabs the last piece of bread, and eludes the seagulls. Wonder if it stuck to the roof of his mouth, like it does for me? :D-->
  5. Ha! Same *seed*, eh?
  6. The ONLY urge I had *to return*, was the urge to go back to the ROA again -- to see old friends, and make new ones. Nothing more, nothing less.
  7. When it comes to abdicating authority, I don't believe the words *step down* are in their vocabulary. -->
  8. I hear you justloafing. Nothing wrong with being bitter (I was too at first), but I've gotten over that, and don't condemn those that still feel that way -- and I think GrouchoMarxJr said it better than I. For nervecurve and anyone else who accuse either myself or others here of bitterness for speaking out -- take a closer look at what is being said. Speaking the truth from an informed viewpoint is not *trash talk*, or being bitter. And as outofdafog said --- To which I say Amen.
  9. Tohu Bohu --- Welcome to Greasespot. -->

    Knock knock

    ok ... to who?
  11. Oh -- by all means -- add to the list, if you wish. I got bit over 30 years ago -- some here have gotten bit more recently. Please add, and update. It will be learning for all, how damage control is valuable, while bitterness is not. (After all these years!) :)--> David
  12. Bitterness --- What it is NOT needs to be *established* before one can determine (and accuse) others of engaging in the *practice* thereof. If you have ever been told that you HAVE TO: Forget yourself, and *give* to the *ministry* more than your financial resources allow; Attend meetings and abandon all social life, other than those meetings; Sell your house to get out of *debt*, yet rent and be in debt forever; Forget *local* charities, since they are not the *best*; Listen to *headquarters*, because they have the revealed Word Of God, for you; Quit a job you were eminantly qualified for, yet the *leadership* decided you were better *suited* elsewhere; Eat peanut butter, while the BOT eats steak -- due to your giving; (As a woman) *bless* the mog, by doing what is morally wrong and reprehensible; Then the word needed is NOT BITTERNESS -- but rather caution, apprehension, awareness, hmmm -- can I say *damage control*? If you were bit by a snake 20 years ago, and that snake was still alive today doing well, and breeding -- it would not be *bitter* to think of what it has done, nor thinking about how it has impacted your life. Remembering the past injuries is not bitterness, since the snake is alive and *well* Everything said here reflects the caution, apprehension, and awareness of what twi has both done, and will continue to do. This is not about bitterness. But it is all about *Damage Control*!!! David
  13. Sooooooo -- does this mean Oak will hire you for his grocery store?? :D--> Congrats!, and good luck. :)--> Oh -- and "bright wishes" too. ;)--> David
  14. ABS -- always costs a lot of money. But in this case, it looks like A Big Steak, Vs. A (lot of) Bull S*!t I'll take the former, thank you. Wallet may be empty, but I'll feel better about it! :)-->
  15. LMAO from the minute I saw it! :D--> (How could you miss that *uniform*?) --> Well - - - White on Rice came to mind, but I will leave it up to the GSC *jury*. :D--> :D--> :D-->
  16. Who cares about the years anymore?? Where did they go? Where did they come from? Reminds me of the story I heard about the Indian who always wondered where the sun came from. He stayed up all night pondering on this problem, and suddenly it *dawned* on him. :D--> Our years are like that, and I'm wishing you many more. :)--> David

    Proud of my son

Congratulations to Ryan!!! So proud for the both of you!! David
  18. An attempt to *re-rail* here - - - - - He had a *charisma* (for me) at first -- but it wore thin pretty quickly; His SNS teachings (mid-70's), were decent, but with time got less so; He became a *legend in his own mind*, to the detriment of all; He could quote dirty jokes better than scripture; His ability to publically humiliate a member of the *congregation* from the *teaching* platform became more frequent; and - - - May I add -- that this is from my personal contact with the man, both in person (and) as well as from a distance. These are my gleanings of what he was/ became/ and is. Having met him, and having been around him several times, the personal contact is more poignant and more damning -- while the long distance *contact* I had started out good -- but became increasingly less so. Well -- that is what I would tell someone, and all I could honestly offer -- since I was usually a thousand miles away from what he was really up to, and never saw the real atrocities I hear about here at GSC. But if a curious person (trying to get a grasp on this former president of twi) were to ask me further -- then I would relate the stories I have heard here from 1st hand witnesses, and not feel like I was indulging in *gossip*. :)-->
  19. And ..... :D--> :D--> Kinda hard to "melt your face" in cyber-space, isn't it!?!? :P-->
  20. Hey there Wyte! :)--> Is it today?? Have a Happy Birthday! David
  21. Angel Of Light Words and music by Bob Hartman From the rock band --- PETRA, may they rest in peace while their lyrics live on. . .
  22. Signals -- I missed ROA 84, but I sure did make the effort to be there at ROA 85, since it was the *memorial* for docvic (I still liked the guy at that time). The numbers for twi were fast declining even then, and then when the POP hit a year or so later, the exodus out of New Knoxville might have easily been compared to the Isrealites leaving Egypt! Again -- I don't know the number of those in attendance, or the membership numbers overall -- but whatever they were -- they were going down fast.
  23. Maybe a pun on *parable* vs. *parabola*?
