May/June 2005 magazine (has it been 2 months)

Fortunateone -- yup, I remember GMIR, and have most (if not all) of them. Best part of the magazine (imo) when they were putting them in the way mag. I took all the GMIR articles out of the magazine (they were easily detachable), and keep them on my bookshelf upstairs, while the rest of the way mags are in a box in my basement. :)--> Those GMIR articles are worth looking at, from time to time. (note -- figure of speech ommission -- gmir is mentioned, way mag is not). :D--> David -
Belle -- then ya ain't never been to a 4-wheeler get together when the snow is really coming down, and making roads impassable. Up here, we wait for the snow to get a foot or so deep, and get together, and plow through it before the county can clear the roads. The deeper it gets, the better we like it. And it is party time -- all the way into the wee hours of the morning. Meebe snow isn't a *natural disaster*, but it sure as **** reeks havoc on the local roadways (both paved, and off-road), and we make it a point to hit them all, coolers and thermos's well stocked, tunes, cb's for talk, and yes -- we need winches to get some unlucky soul unstuck, whose truck isn't high enough to clear the drifts -- usually in the *backwoods*. Heee! We are out there in the middle of this happening, no *post party* to it at all. :)--> If you like NASCAR -- you would love a *midnight sled ride* party, up here -- and we don't wait until it is over, we are out there while it is all happening. (sorry for the de-rail, Raf.) . .

Hey there signals -- I get mixed up about things that happened 20 odd years ago too. Easy to do, and it just proves a couple points: 1) It means you haven't been dwelling on all that happened to you in twi for all these years >>> re-hashing and re-living every event that took place, who was there, etc., etc., to the point where you could recite exact dates, locations, and that other *good stuff*. 2) It also (Bullinger) means that while you have the *unscratched itch* about twi and what happened to you and your life personally, you've moved on and haven't let twi totally ruin your life. I was at pfal 77, advanced class 79, heartbeat festivals, sound out 84, L.E.A.D., many roa's, etc., etc., etc., and while some incidents stick out in my mind, I'll be durned if I can remember exactly what happened at each and every event. Nor do I try to, but more often than not, someone here will say something that jogs my memory enough so I see that something I thought to have happened at one event, actually happened at a different one -- thus inconsistancy on my part. I haven't thought about twi much at all over the years, nor do I these days -- but I do somewhat now, when reading here -- and try to put the pieces together, just like you -- inconsistancies and all. :)--> AMEN! And HERE IS THE BOB BENNETT SITE for those who are interested. David

JJ -- you're welcome. :)--> Hey -- if you ever want to post lyrics to any song, go to Google, then when the *search* bar comes up in the center of your screen, type in the name of the artist, the title of the song, and then put the word lyrics after all that. Actually -- you just need to type in the name of the song, with the word lyrics after it, and it will direct you to several links, and you can choose the one you want. :)--> David

Sounds a mite *dry*. --> But then again, I just got my latest editiion of The Sower from CES today, and most here might consider it just as *dry* as well. :D--> -
Wishing Eric *luck*, a safe tour of duty, and a safe trip home. :)--> David

"Without a banjo, a bluegrass band is just 4 guys futilely seeking the meaning of life"

No -- never had heard of him, but will be looking for his stuff. "Man Of The Tombs" - - - great lyrics!

Hey there Sharon. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Here's hoping The Pawnbroker took good care of you on your special day. (Jeff -- ya did make her day extra special, din'cha?) :D--> :D--> :D--> Again -- congrats. David "Without a banjo, a bluegrass band is just 4 other guys futilely seeking the meaning of life."

Good to hear it arrived safe and sound, and that you could get it laminated.. :)--> My old workplace, didn't have lamination rolls long enough to cover the entire poster, though they did have them on order. I didn't want to wait, so I just sent it that way and it's great to hear you got it laminated there. Yea -- it is a good looking poster. A *blast from the past*! :D--> Peace, Love and Peter Max!!

Awwww Belle, I knew what ya meant. ;)--> The sad thing is -- 20 odd years ago, I believed the same thing. Fruit wasn't fruit if it wasn't in the twi *pantry*. Any other actions done weren't considered fruitful for the ministry, if it did not translate to members, or money. And as I say -- sadly, I bought into that for Lord knows how many years, thinking I had nothing to show for my life if I wasn't signing folks up for the class, and was ignoring the fact that helping others was more beneficial than adding to the coffers of twi. I define fruit with a much different mind-set now, and am thankful for it. :)--> And yes you are right -- the biblical teaching of fruit denotes a giving to others, a giving of yourself, sharing of your abundance (be it money, time, ability, compassion, talent, knowledge, etc.) which will come back to YOU the believer as fruit, and to God who gave you and I the ability to give to others -- and NOT to the denomination you fellowship with. Twi has set themselves up as god if they expect fruit for themselves from the things we have done. David
-
Belle -- please define *fruit*. :)--> I had none (by twi standards), but my life since, has had a lot. Giving to those that need it, and seeing them respond in a positive manner -- yea - that is fruit, but I didn't sign them up for the *class*. Money (from my pocket to theirs), and a few kind words on my part -- got fruit (but no *class involvement*). I once saw a blind man, tapping his cane in the middle of a busy street, looking for the street corner, and though all other drivers passed him by, honking, none got out to help him find his familiar landmarks. I did, and I consider that fruit. *Fruit* is something that is a result of our actions, and twi has no final definative definition on the subject -- since it is avarice that fuels their definition of *fruit*, which should be translated as "what is good for us". :)--> David

Rascal -- I remember that. He also said something to the effect that he had *lived with it all these years*, and finally acquiesced to others who wanted him to have it taken out, to get rid of the pain. Nothing was ever said about cancer, and the *light* story was fabricated as the cover-up. Since he had taught that cancer was caused by a devil spirit, and then he had it -- all the *smoke and mirrors* were put into high gear to keep the truth from being told. It would've been (shudder) unthinkable for them to announce that the MOG was possesed. I used to buy the *light* explanation, but then in '87 I learned the cause of his death, which had also never (to my knowledge) been made public. Regardless of what he had, or how it was caused -- it was covered up, so that all would remain *business as usual* at twi hdqtrs. -->
-
Point taken, Rascal. :(--> David

And (while I am on a *roll* here) -- what do you think we are praying for???? More *Abudance*??? He!! no -- it is for forgiveness, repentance, and a return to that which is right. The derelict in the street may garner your prayers for deliverance, but both the derelict in the street, as well as the derelicts in charge of twi are deserving of such. Prayer never hurt anyone, neither the giver thereof, nor the recipient. If you can't pray for your enemies, how can you honestly pray for your friends? My contention is that you cannot. Selective prayer is not something that is acceptable, and if you don't realize this, I will pray for YOU! David
-
And don't forget to add -- Satori, that Jesus might have said the same thing about *dying for dirtbags like these*. If you don't love em, don't pray for them. But in doing so - you make yourself to be a Pharisee. :)--> :)--> David (Not *Biblefan Dave*, but another David -- *dmiller*)

Ha! Reminds me of a saying they have up here for the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. If ya ain't the lead dog, the view never changes.
-
Well -- every last thing docvic came up with, was already *out there* (doctrinally-wise) free for the learning, and in his case, *free* for the plaguarizing. Lots of groups teach that Jesus is not God, and they don't give the MOGFODAT spin to it, and I don't think docvic did either -- but we'll never know for sure. Eh?
-
Signals -- I agree with your first sentence. Your third sentence defines the second, and may I say -- I have been *affiliated* with CES since they have been around, and they have never told me I had to give money. In fact the exact opposite is true -- they teach free-will giving, and that based on what you decide, not them. This is not an attack on you, just my personal observation from 10 or so years of hanging out with CES. (I can not answer as to any of the other *off-shoots*, since I am not familiar with them.

That is me to a "T". When somone else's nose is deep in my personal business, and claiming to speak for God -- it is time to pack up, and get out regardless of the organization doing so. Do I accept pfal, and all that is taught there 100%? ------ NO Do I accept some of the Word that is taught there? ------- YES Does listening to off-shoots mean returning to twi? ------- NO Does listening to off shoots mean I still like the Word? ---Yes As I've said before -- I left twi, not the Word. I still have a hard time going into conventional churches, and hear them spew stuff that is doctrinally handed-down-through-the-ages, with no thought of questioning, or being open for discussion. I like it here too, because of the diversity of opinions. Makes a guy sit up and actually think about why you believe what you do, and is it really valid or not. :)-->
