I NEVER - I NEVER EVER - - - I NEVER EVER,EVER - - - QUESTION HEALING. God works, despite the outfit that is promoting Him. Can I get an *amen* here? --> twi taught the reality -- then refused to stand up and *be counted* when the chips were down -- backing out of all responsibility -- cause they knew they couldn't deliver -- spouting *doctrine*, instead of real deliverance. I have seen my share of healings also, and some have been done on me. The fact that twi taught that they could be done, doesn't negate the fact that God can accomplish them. I never thought of twi when my particular instances were happening -- I thought of the Father above, who can and does answer -- when asked. I am walking today, when I should have been *laid low* many years ago, so my emphatic answer is *YES*. While I look in askance at the twi *view of things*, I realize that there is a God in heavan -- who takes time out of His day -- to pay attention to some one like me. No -- I usually don't question miracles or healing, and yes I have seen some. But that never did stop me from questioning the outfits that claim to believe in such -- and then *skew* things to their advantage. David

So am I -- and stem cells for research can be aquired from many places -- not only from *unborn fetus'* (sp?)*, as some propound and advocate. And I have an active interest in this, since it could help my dad and his current medical conditions. He is a staunch pro-lifer, but could benefit hugely from the results of stem cell research -- but he would accept it only if it was *passive*. :)--> David

And -- to answer this -- No -- I don't believe anyone has ever been told. We were all simply too awe-struck to ask that simple question, flabbergasted that we knew someone God had actually *spoken to*, audibly.

Just from a coupla verses -- seems the question should be - from what direction did the *voice* come from, instead of *what did it sound like*. :D-->

(this is) THE former treatise I have made, O THEophilus, of all that Raf began to do and to teach. :D-->

VPW never had much of an influence on mine. Born and raised in southern Indiana -- I was always subjected to *Christian Right* politics, and though I was a long haired guitar-strumming hippie back in the early '70s also -- I pretty much just *graduated* to my present level of political thinking on my own -- which some others here might say have never gotten out of the basement! :D--> :D--> :D--> David

Open question to innies: Do TWIt leaders receive revelation?
dmiller replied to Steve!'s topic in About The Way
SV -- ya forgot the "led by the spirit" part. Do they still serve Drambui at those meetings.? --> That might account for the *closed eyes*. :D--> :D--> :D--> David -
Naw -- not smarter at all. I move so slow, that I have been told that if I move any slower -- I would be in a coma. :D--> :D--> Needless to say -- my thoughts are not far behind. --> Took me twenty-odd years to realize that A + B = AB(s). :D--> David

Well -- (not discounting your experiences) -- I did, as did some others. I say *not discounting your experiences*, simply cause I don't know where you are *quoting* from, but there were times in my life, that folks in twi did a few miraculous things for me (and I knew they had no idea what they were doing -- unless it was by rev). Granted -- it was always *out in the field*, and far, far, away from hdqtrs., and also back in the *old days* when folks actually listened, and were looking to serve, so I gave credit to the Father for letting them know what needed to be prayed for, and NOT to the organization that had us all in the same place, at the same time. By the same token -- I was able to do the same for others -- and I did not have a clue either. God's revelation works -- despite the fact that you are in a cult. :D--> Yea -- I've heard other stories like you just told -- and it maks me sick that an outfit can call themselves a *ministry for/of God*, and be so counterfeit. Yea -- counterfeit -- that is the word I was looking for. David

Wyte -- that phrase seemed to mean the same thing as the other phrase, to me. --> David

Meebe something is going on there then -- I went in 3 times tonight -- and no one was there. At this time of night, there should at least be a handful of folks. The hour is not that late. -->

Outofdafog --- Sadly, I agree. When they've *done their time*, it should be a done deal, but with crimes like this -- it isn't easy to give them trust again. Time was done, but are they *remorseful* and rehabilitated? Usually not. :(--> And here in Minnesota, the state lets folks know when a convicted sex offender is moving into their neighborhood -- but there have been two instances (that I know of) where a child molester was *relocated* from prison -- to just 2 blocks from an elemetary school. The locals in the neighborhoods, and the parents of the kids attending the schools were (justifiably) outraged, and the state quickly apologized, and moved him elsewhere -- but you made a good point about *not keeping track*. Someone (whoever assaigned these guys those particular locations) wasn't thinking, checking things in detail, nor doing all the other *leg-work* that might have ensured a smoother transition from jail to housing. My thought on it is -- it would have been unnoticed by the state, had not the local, concerned citizens spoken up, and that most vociferously. David

safari -- you do not need your password to get into chat. :)--> The only time you need a password -- is if you have registered your name with Paw -- as someone who wants their name protected in chat. I did that, and so have some others here -- but if you have not -- then just type in your screen name, and then hit *connect*. You should get right in, and with no numbers attached to your screen name. :)--> David

I have no problem --- whatsoever. A) I get online B) I hit favourites (GSCafe) C) I hit chat room, then enter chat room D) I wait for about one minute, and then the screen turns *green* E) I log into the chat room, and I am there. But then again -- I am on an old re-furbished MAC from an elementary school, so meebe things are simpler here on my end. :D-->

Gc -- mea culpa. I missed the *winking guy* totally. :(--> (I need stronger coffee... I need stronger coffee... I need stronger coffee...) :D-->

Ahhh -- I missed that. Chalk up another *inconsistency* on my part! :D--> David

Mstar --- Happy Birthday!! (belated). Am hoping it was a good one for you. :)--> David

gc -- I think I have to agree with ex10 on this one. I took a look at the site you provided, and it is from Tustin, California --- not New Knoxville. :)--> (of course I coulda missed something, but it doesn't look like the same outfit.) David

The words *Nazi* and *Gestapo* come to mind. --> David

I never cut my family out of my life because of twi, except for once -- and that happened as a wow. While living in Indiana, I would always go see the folks, do family get-togethers, etc., and have time for both them and twi at the same time. (twi-1 was a lot less restrictive about that stuff -- imo). Moved to Minnesota in 1978, went wow, and my brother got married that wow year in June of '79. I was told I would be *leaving the field* if I went to his wedding, so being a *good wafer* -- I did not go. :(--> Ironically enough -- it was NOT considered *leaving the field* to go to AC '79. They were pretty ticked at me for a few years, and I swore I would never do anything like that again. It's all water under the bridge now, but it wasn't a whole lot fun back then. Their attitude softened towards me, once I finally realized the cult status of twi -- and told them I was sorry I let an outfit like that get in between us as a family. David
