Catcup -- exactly. It was the United Way that I also (Bullinger) was asked to give to, as was my (then) wife. I refused to give to United Way (on the grounds that you mentioned), yet my ex had more cojones than I did when standing up to leadership here -- telling them to their face that it was her money, and she would give to whomever she damn well pleased!! I adopted that mind-set later on, and always wish I had done so earlier like she did. --> David

Lorna -- if twi gave one nickel to anyone -- they would milk it for $100.00 worth of PR for themselves -- and that's the fact, Jack. Just think of the 39 grand (or so) that they spent on that Terry Bradshaw commercial (was that a year ago already!?!?), and all they hoped to gain from that fiasco. --> David

Yep -- it sure is. They must be preaching to the choir, or sumthin!! :D--> 1979 -1984 I was always asked to give to local *charities* by either payroll deduction, or as an outright gift. I always refused -- since the "party line" was then (as I am sure it still is today), that only "moving the Word" merited your financial backing -- like ljn said. I was inclined to give to these causes, but then leadership was quick to remind me that there was *good* and then there was *best*. --> That was the rule back then -- and I bet a dollar to a doughnut it ain't changed over the years one bit. :D--> David

1. Orthodox Judaism (100%) 2. Islam (97%) 3. Sikhism (87%) 4. Reform Judaism (78%) 5. Bahá'à Faith (76%) 6. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (68%) 7. Orthodox Quaker (68%) 8. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (65%) Evan -- makes sense. I figure that's how I got my high "OJ" scores. :D-->

Speeding in congested traffic: Passes cars on the right and left: Fender bender at 200+ mph: And leaves the scene of the accident. . . . . . . (perhaps her greatest achievement today was that she drove a car for 500 miles, and didn't have to stop to use the bathroom!) :D--> :D-->

To Rafael Peralta, and all others who made the ultimate sacrifice in battle -- SALUTE!

Mstar -- yes they do. One of *my guys* hears voices a lot (ie -- read schizophrenic) and he is on some powerful shi--- err *stuff*! to control it. Only problem is -- you have to be medically diagnosed, in order to get this stuff. Dunno if it would have helped in the twi situation with vpw though.

ahhhh -- that's right -- it is running on Sunday. :(--> Guess I'll miss it this year, as will the folks, cause they are flying back from Austin Texas that day.

Haven't left Minney-soda yet, Jardinero. :P--> Leaving here tomorrow morning, and will be arriving in B-town 12-15 hours later. It is either the prescence, (or the lack thereof) of state patrols that will determine how quick the trip will be. :D--> My all-time record for the 750 mile trip was 11 1/2 hours. And that includes bathroom breaks, gas stops, food stops, and the stretch between Bloomington and Indy where it is only 55 mph.

Let me amend that statement, if I may. It generally is a good show -- but they will not tolerate talk that is against main-stream christianity (ie -- trinity and that sort of thing) -- but when they stick to politics -- they are usually right on.

So... would the letters addressed to the young Bates boy have read: Master Bates 666 Desota Somewhere, USA ;)--> I couldn't resist~ Ha!! The *Master* Bates, would be the Dad -- Larry, who (coincidentally) has the word DR. in front of his name. :(--> (But they do put on a good show on the radio.) :)-->

I shoulda ABS'ed from my allowance! Now I'm gonna be a greasespot, by midnight!!

Have a good one too, topoftheworld. :)--> I'll be in Bloomington listening to the race with my folks (no doubt), because even though they are not normally race fans -- every year they tune that one in on the radio, and listen. Go figure. :D--> David

Yea -- I wasn't sure either. That was such an *indecisive* post! :D--> :D--> :D-->

I heard it is supposed to build up the immune system. And yea -- the only folks I have heard promoting the generator are Dr. Larry Bates, and his son Chuck Bates on their daily radio show Unraveling the New World Order

Open question to innies: Do TWIt leaders receive revelation?
dmiller replied to Steve!'s topic in About The Way
This is sad, this is despicable, and this is making me physically ill. :(--> Who in the **** do these guys think they are??? The Way *Ministry* seems to me to be (imo) NOTHING ABOUT GOD, BUT ALL ABOUT CONTROL. Fer crying out loud -- once I got out -- I attended services offered by several denominatons. Ranging from Baptist, to Pentecostal, off-shoots of twi, evangelical groups, and Messianic Jewish outfits as well -- and every last group encouraged, and supported prayer by the congregation for others. Not a one of these outfits did the crap that twi either did, or propounds now. Ohhh -- scuse me --- since when is praying for a need for a brother or sister wrong??? And when the h*** do I have to get the ok from a twig leader -- (or some other person) to do what God tells me to do???? I'm sorry -- but twi can take their *control* issues and just *shove it where the sun don't shine". Prayer is meant for those who need it -- and it IS NOT INCUMBANT on one person to know when, and where a specific subject (for a specic person). is to be mentioned --- and then act like it was *rev* from God to say yea, or nay. Any Innies reading this --- Please listen --- If you are told you cannot pray for someone you care for, or someone you know that has a need - of any sort - - - GET OUT OF DODGE, and quickly. You can do much better job on your own, and be a better, more effective servant for our Father God, and His son Jesus Christ. David -
Oak -- no I am not, but I wish you were around to follow (here in Minney-soda), cause I just got back from the household goods aisle in my local grocery store -- and the *heavy revvy* ain't workin' about which detergent to buy! :D--> David

And a quick ps here -- Isn't that what communion is for? Remembering that "by his stripes we were healed". :)--> David

I think the Way Magazine said it best, and pegged him in a more (cough) correct light - when the following ad was run for ---- :D--> :D--> :D--> (quoted from The Way Magazine - November/December 1976, page 27.) David

But that was the method of how almost all fellowships were done. Was that supposed to be done by Revelation? Galen -- I agree. That's the way it was done at our fellowships too, and I never thought that they asked "so-and-so" to pray for "such-and-such" because of revelation -- I just thought they were *covering all the bases*. Sometimes I did wonder if they were "mandated" to make sure the entirety of twi got prayed for -- but I was never curious enough to ask. That being said -- I can also see how some fellowship leaders might've tried to give out that they were *the great one from God*, and that everything they did in twig was by *rev*. :D--> David -
Latin?? And not Armaic? :D--> :D-->
