  1. To me -- most people are. :D-->
  2. I like Bullinger too, and THIS IS A SITE that has some of his stuff on it. David
  3. Hey there personalentertainr -- I've got a lot of those little booklets here from way back when, but sadly I'm missing the *Also* one. I forget who the person was that put it together. I'll dig a little deeper, and see if I can't find it. :)--> David
  4. Short choo-choo here, if I may --- George (and Suz -- if you are *lurking* here), I'll be praying for the both of you. I remember when the two of you were first getting together, and were at Steve and Jeannie M*Crakens (sp?) wedding, where our bluegrass band was playing, for the reception. I gotta tell you -- I was envious of you two. I had just gotten divorced, and I wanted to have love in my own life, like you two had. You spent all that time driving to La Crosse, Wisconsin to see Suz, George --- and when you finally got her to visit here, I could see why. Whenever I think of the two of you, it is always that scene by the Lester River Bridge, where me and the boys were swatting out bluegrass tunes, and everything was *right* with the world. George -- I know you don't believe in God. That's OK -- I do. :)--> Suz ----- I don't know what your beliefs are (these days). I will be praying that you can regain the happiness that I still remember you showing to each other way back when. Hope it works. Had to say all that. Now --- back to the thread. :)--> David
  5. OUCH!!! Sorry to hear that Chas. :(--> Too bad he didn't have something like ocean-front property to leave behind, instead of just a wow pin.
  6. Awwwww -- Groucho -- hang on to it. That little piece of blue and gold jewelry represents a year of your life. And like Oak said -- it was earned the hard way. I look at mine from time to time, and remember the good times, even though there were a lot of negative ones associated with it as well. However -- if the *price was right*, I would sell it in a heartbeat, and rely on my memory of the *good times*, without the pin. :D-->
  7. The weenie roast is in October?? What did I miss?? --> -->
  8. Coolchef -- Too bad the paper wasn't called the Passing Of Our Patriarch, so we could refer to it as the POOP. :D-->

    Vacation!

Do we get a hint for the name to look for?? :D-->

    Vacation!

    Vacation --- I wish I could. Have a great time, Mr. H.!
  11. An (emphatic) YES!!! ;)--> And a lot of them are here, and NOT in New Knoxville, or affiliated with twi anymore. :)--> David
  12. Unbreakable -- welcome to Greasespot! --> The corps I knew, were all decent folks, with the exception of one. Back in the mid-70's, and early 80's seemed to be a more *low-key* time, and the folks I knew then (who were corps), weren't jerks at all. The one I know (personally) who was so tyrranical, accusatory, hateful, domineering, dictatorial, (and all those other *good* adjectives to describe his reign of terror), was here in my area in '86, just about the time POP hit the fan. Given this guy's personality -- I would say that he was born this way, and he would have ended up like this in life --- with or without, the way corps *training*. He (I think) is a region leader now (North-East), and the name Ch*is Gr@nlich might ring a bell with you. There were good ones back in the earlier days. Very helpful, and supportive, and took their position seriously. And there are probably some these days too. Unfortunately -- twi lays down *the law*, and the good ones usually end up out on the street. :(--> David
  13. Vickles -- naw. If that were the case, the thread would have been titled *soft drinks*. :D--> :D--> David
  14. Huh??? --> --> --> I don't feel any shame. P!ssed off maybe, but not shame. Don't get me wrong -- I think those years were pretty much *wasted* -- but I did the same thing before (and after) twi, and I feel no shame for that either. I agree 100% with all that has been posted here. We were led down the *knowledge* path, and were steered away from putting that knowledge into action (I Cor. 13). We were taught that we were better than others, and as such -- (my perspective on this), we were to *look down* on anyone who didn't take the class, or fellowship with, or think like twi. I regret wasting my time, and realize now that I could have done better, but I don't shame myself, or feel shame for having been negligent (in many areas) over the years. I dunno --- maybe we have a different definition of *shame*??
  15. Mstar -- LMAO!!! :D--> :D-->
  16. Chas -- you're selling your WOW PIN!!??? I've got two of them (somewhere around the house here) --- don't know whare they are, but I'm guessing that they are with the 35th, and 40th anniversary commerative plates in a box in my basement. :D--> I have a LOT of old way mags, and I like the GMIR articles best. I look at them from time to time, but not much else that was printed in the mags. Actually -- I removed the GMIR articles from the mags, and they are on my bookshelf upstairs, while the mags are in another box in the basement!
  17. To which I can only say --- AMEN!!
  18. ps. --- In case you're wondering --- NO desserts!
  19. Waterbuffalo --- Lots of good advice here. :)--> My 2 cents worth -- correct eating, and exercise will do the trick, but not immediately. Here's the diet that two of my guys at the group home follow. They have Pradar-Willi Syndrome (a genetic disorder whereby they are alway hungry, and will even dig through garbage, looking for edibles), and because they lack the gene that tells them when they are *full*, they will eat, and eat, and eat --- anything. :(--> Both of them weighed about 450 pounds each (14 years ago). Both are 5'2", and to date, both have lost over 300 pounds each. Theirs is a medically supervised diet, that is 1800 calories per day (this is up from the past), when they were on a 900 calorie diet -- back when they were so over-weight Daily they get: Vegetable ------ 1 1/2 (dry) measured cup (1 cup at lunch, 1/2 at supper); Starch --------- 1 1/2 (dry) measured cup (1/2 cup at lunch, 1 at supper); Meat (protein) - 6 measured ounces (split in half for lunch and supper); Fruit ---------- 1 (dry) measured cup (half at lunch, half at supper) Salad ---------- 1 (dry) measured cup (supper time); Salad Dressing - 1 Tblsp (fat free); Toast ---------- 2 pieces (40 calories per slice at breakfast); Jelly ---------- 1 Tblspn (sugar free), for their toast; Cereal --------- 1 (dry) measured cup of cereal (breakfast). For liquids, they get: Coffee - 2 (liquid) measured cups (one at breakfast, one at supper); Milk --- 3 (liquid) fat-free measured cups (all meals); Juice -- 1 (liquid) measured cup (for breakfast). They also get two snacks a day, and each consists of 1 diet free soft drink (each time), and an apple, or an orange, or a 1/2 cup of canned fruit. This may sound like a *sparse* diet, but I have used their measurements for food at supper time myself, and it is actually quite filling. Give it a try!! :)--> They also do a lot of walking for exercise. The combination of the particular supervised diet they are on, plus the physical activity we encourage them to do, has done the trick (over time), since they now weigh 133, and 144 -- instead of 450, and I just told you how they did it. ;)--> Good luck! :)--> David
  20. Remember -- a finger fits in an ear, like a hand fits in a ---- Oh never mind. Suddenly it doesn't sound so *righteous* anymore! :D-->
