  1. I'll be keeping you and yours in thoughts and prayers too. David
  2. ps -- wow. Didn't realize how busy your lives were. Sounds like everyone is *making waves*, not just Steve!. :)-->
  3. Hmmmm. May he be slow to post! :)--> Ummm -- how many more does he have before reaching *whoda thunk it?* --> Good luck to y'a!!. Here's hoping you'll at least visit from time to time. David
  4. I don't think so. When you play a minor key, you are flatting the third (the middle note of a chord), and it leaves something to be desired. That's what I meant by *resolution* -- resolution is the culminaton of a buncha notes, into something *positive*, that sounds good, and leaves the listener feeling fulfilled. Minor chords are a lot like making a gourmet meal, and leaving out a key ingredient -- it doesn't taste the same, unless that ingredient is there. That being said, there are some tunes that are built around minor chords that are absolutely beautiful as well. The "soulful, lush, heartfelt music Ala spoke of is valid. For twi to make a blanket statement about the validity of some chords over others, and then go ahead and use those same chords that they preached against in one of their *major* productions smacks of elitism. We are told it is wrong, but it is ok for them. Well -- it's been said before, and I guess I'll say it again: Ya can't polish up a turd. David
  5. And on a more serious note (no pun intended), I remember the first time I heard/saw the tape of Athlete's of the Spirit. Everything was in a minor key, not a d@mn thing uplifting about the music, and I went away feeling depressed as h*ll, just from the music being played. Now -- I'm not gonna blame that on the *debbil*, but I will say that nothing got *resolved* into a major key, and it really did leave one feeling empty. Minor keys add emphasis to any song/tune/whatever -- but if they are the major focus of the tune -- they add nothing to me. Twi did an excellent job of ignoring it's own crap they were spouting, when it came to one of their own productions. In other words -- they practiced ...., and taught the opposite as gospel. David
  6. Personally -- I don't like minor keys. But then again -- ya find them everywhere, and I always follow the old twi adage: Replace one minor with three majors, (or was that): Replace one negative with 3 positives?? --> --> --> I don't remember! Someone give me a book so I can do some RESEARCH on this stuff !! :D--> :P--> :D-->

    ROLL CALL

    Hmmmmm. So I come in here off the Bluegrass board, and see ROLL CALL. I dutifully answers the call, and find only Dave and Murray there, who aren't talking to anyone. --> And that was only 30 or so minutes after the ROLL CALL was posted! Guess I missed the action, eh? -->
  8. I tend to agree with WhiteDove, in that I see it as two separate issues as well. On one hand you have people promoting a *ministry*, and on the other you have their *product* that they are promoting. I found the *salesmen* to be corrupt, but I still think the product is good. Since the salesmen were corrupt, and their product good (to me) I chose to dismiss the salesmen, and keep the product. Some have obviously found the product to be flawed as well as the seller of it, but that is not my case. I guess I am as guilty as the rest, of thinking that only ONE salesman could effectively sell me that product, and that I would buy it from no one else. Well -- I think differently now, hence my observation that I think this is two separate issues. I used to defend the salesman, and the product quite vehemently, but anymore I use the product with no thought given to the man that *sold* me on it. Don't know if this makes sense, but it is exactly what I feel about twi, and the Word. Now -- if I were still *in*, I would be tossing out the product with the salesman. But perhaps that belongs in a different thread. :)--> David
  9. George -- if you change a post within 10 minutes of originally posting it, it shows up changed, and no *edit* notice at the bottom. At least that is the way it works on my computer, and I have used that feature many times to edit speeling misteaks. :)--> David
  10. Ha. Like J**n S*ho*nh*it's paper/research on adultery back in the mid-80's? -->
  11. Mr H., Ya shouldn't have let him take the *Rise and Expansion* class. :D--> :D-->
  12. Krys -- Please take a look at your private topics. David
  13. Abi and Man of 1k -- I'm having a hard time getting into that site. :(--> They keep disconnecting me, so I will have to go with the land-line number instead, tomorrow. If I can make it (my schedule is subject to change at a moment's notice), I will plan on bringing enough coffee to float a battleship, and the coffee pot (big) as well. If anyone hates strong, black, straight coffee -- bring yer own *pollutants of choice* to add to it (creamer, sugar, whatever). I refuse to supply those! David
  14. Makes me glad I missed the last two!! Am wondering if possum tail tips and goat nubbins have anything to do with tooth extractions, and a successful dentinstry career? (just kidding Sudo!) :D--> David
  15. I detect demons in dessert with delight, not disgust! Chocolate, creme, fresh fruit, more chocolate, sweet toppings, nothing fat or sugar free. Am still waiting for the Daimon of Desserts. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Life is short. Eat dessert first! :P--> *demons* welcome at my dinner table, as long as they are all in the dessert! :D-->
  16. The Boy Scouts are one of the last bastions of what America should stand for. I will gladly pray for them, and all they represent in today's society -- conflicting though it is with the *politically correct* crap that is being shoved down the throat of America. David

    Rascal

    Belle --- prairie-dogging?? ;)--> I'm guilty! :D--> David
  18. They were laying the ground-work for the 250 mile radius. -->
  19. Highway --- point taken. :)--> In addition to that -- I am remembering my childhood, and my father (who really does *know it all*), always waited for me to ask for help rather than just jump in and dictate. I can see both sides of the equation. Dad noticed my struggles too, and when the problem became insurmountable enough for me to ask, he jumped right in. He was always ready and prepared to help me out. I don't see any problem with thinking the same about the Heavanly Father, but then again (as usual) -- that is just an imo. David
  20. Oak -- shucks. :(--> I hear ya though. I also hear you about the time element too. I spaced that one out totally. --> Well -- I tried! the best laid plans (and all that good stuff) --- (sigh) David
  21. THE BLUE BOOK A thoughtful, inciteful dissertation by Raf as to what is (and is not) good about the blue book. Enjoy. David
  22. Quick question here. If we all kicked in a few bucks, would that get Oak and Reiki to the Roast?? I'm in, if it'll help them get there. :)--> David
  23. Uhhh -- Dollywood is in Tennessee. Guess you'll have to settle for "hills", and not "mountains"! :P-->
