Steve L. --- Excellent post!!! David

Georgio -- Like I said, I never did the *momentous thing*. I heard more negative comments about it than positive, so regardless of the fact that CES promoted it at one time, I refused to go. The monthly tapes have taken on a less of a teaching quality that they had when they first started (imo), although the teaching aspect is still there fairly often. These days, one is more likely than not to find a bunch of sharings from the participants from a past retreat/ advance/ week-end get together/ or whatever it is called these days. JAL (to my knowledge) is not a part of the administrative scene like he once was, but I could be mistaken about that. At least he is not mentioned as being on the current board of directors. David

Welcome to GreaseSpot. :)--> No -- no church for me. However -- if I found one that had decent teachings, then it might be a different story. David

CES no longer endorses Momentus. I never went to it, and am glad I did not. I do like CES though. Their tapes are not as good as they used to be, however.

I play an *A* chord several ways, but usually it is: 5 -- this being the 5th fret, on the *E* string 4 -- this being the 4th fret, on the *A* string 2 -- this being the 2nd fret, on the *D* string 2 -- this being the 2nd fret, on the *G* string sometimes I'll play combinations of that configuratioin for the same chord, but giving me different results in sound that seem to flow better with the tune being played. My general rule of thumb is -- play the chord however it feels most comfortable to you. I have a hard time getting my fingers into some of those other ways of playing the same chord! Most bluegrassers play the *A* chord like this: 5 -- 5th fret, E string 4 -- 4th fret, A string 7 -- 7th fret, D string 9 -- 9th fret, G string My fingers don't work, for that one!

Ex70's -- surely wish I could be there to help. :(--> Thanks for all you are doing. David

Mr. P-Mosh -- To quote Sean Hannity, "You're a great American". (And I say that with no disrespect, or sarcasm.) Thanks for your effort to help. I'm sure you did (and will continue to) make a difference for those who need the help in this crisis. :)--> God bless. David

Hmmph. I missed out on the pretty girls. But I did find some hot bible, even if it did come from somewhere else. ;)-->

We lost our live-in staff, and that is the hardest position to fill at the Noumenon House. (see the Prayer Room, and the "Loren is hurting" thread). I now have to do overnights, as well as mega-overtime, and we have slim prospects on someone to fill the position. Short of the long of it is -- if we don't find a qualified person within the next week or two, I will not be able to make it. It takes too much time to train a *newbie*, and if we don't find one quickly, the weenie roast is out of the questiion for me. :(--> David

Yea -- they do keep it lit up. The Blatnik bridge from Superior Wisconsin, to Duluth Minnesota (Wisconsin is just a shot hop away from here) is lit up all the time too. Here it is. David
-
And when they get here, this is the bridge they go under. The center span rises vertically to allow passage of the salties, and other ships from around the great lakes..
-
Yup --- if they can get here to Duluth, they can get to Chicago.
-
It's day by day here too, in Minnesota. We were at 2.69 per gallon, and after Katrina hit, it shot up to 3.49. It is now at 3.09, and (as yet) we have not been warned of shortages. It's my guess that the midwest (Chicago) will not be impacted by shortages, but then again -- who knows for sure? David

Glad to help also, WhiteDove. Sandi was one of the first people I met here on GS. I'll be missing both her and her *weiner dog* sig. I am glad to see hers as the last post. T'is a fitting tribute. David

Yup --- The pics shown are *F* models. I'm guessing you have an *A* model. :)-->
