  1. The above is the *tidbit* I mentioned, and then you said: Mike -- I NEVER just *pull something outta my butt* when I am speaking to you or anyone else here. Please remember that for future reference. I'm not flippant in my responses (these days), but when I inadvertantly am, I invariably end up apologizing for it. So I won't be apologizing here. The only thing I pull out of butts are turds, and the residual effect thereof at the group home I work at. Def59 is the journalist, not I. Now -- with that being said, let's look at what you said: No doubt you could. Regardless of what anyone may say (or has said to you), you by your own admission refuse to even consider the possibility that there is even one shred of truth in any rebuttal that has been offered to you in these many threads. I don't see why this statement should fare any different. Though I have all the books, several hundred tapes, and close to 15 years worth of the magazine -- they have been mainly gathering dust over the past 18 to 20 years. No, I do not go over them. No, I do not see them as *god-breathed* as you do. No, I would never dream of consulting them all, in order to make a statement such as I did because I remember two very simple lines that docvic taught in the class (and it's probably on one of his printed pages too). And those lines were ------------------------ ***BELIEVING WORKS FOR SAINT AND SINNER ALIKE. *** ***THIS LAW OF NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE BELIEVING WORKS FOR BOTH CHRISTIAN AND NON-CHRISTIAN*** Scuze me -- I don't see this as teaching that *original tidbit*. I do however see it as promoting one's mind over what God has promised, and what He is willing to do. And I think the pfal book has a mention about *whosoever says to this mountain* (christian or non-christian), that mountain has gotta scoot into the sea. That is promoting mind power (aka -- law of believing), and not promoting believing in the promises of God, and His willingness to perform what He said. David
  2. Ho-kay. Whatever. If the local authorities pay for the disabled to *live life*, then they pay for: A house for them to live in (nominal rent charged); Staff to help the client get dressed, bathed, fed, toileted, driven around town to wherever they want to go; Meds for their medical needs; Food for their physical needs; Woops -- don't forget clothes, toothpaste, other toiletries, various appliances to keep food cold after being cooked and clothes dryed after being washed, and a nice "free of fuel bills" furnace keeping them warm in the midst of winter. Oh -- wait a minute -- yer talking Denmark. Geez -- I don't know how they work it over there. But if that kind of extraneous crap was pulled over here ------ Oh -- wait a minute -- you did say *extra costs* didn't you??! Well I have to agree with the original article then, and the original comment of *WTF* -- if the local authorities didn't have to pay for any of the above that I mentioned, it makes sense to keep the clients happy in the manner of their choosing! I guess that country is more *enlightened* after all.
  3. Looks like anybody can be called a cult. A definition might help here. :) If twi was included as one of the *biggest and baddest*, then it must be something from outside of *mainstream* denomination's doctrine, eh? Or could it all hinge on the trinity??? That seems to be a big *red flag* to a lot of groups that are fond of labeling others as a cult.
  4. I agree. I've said it before here on GSC, and I guess it's worth repeating: We don't believe in Our Ability To Believe; We believe in God's promises, And His Ability To Do. Docvic never did teach that little tidbit of info, although it is found many times in the scripture. David
  5. WordWolf -- looking through it, there is no copyright anywhere. Acknowledgements are given to those who helped, copious footnotes of other's works they have quoted, but neither copyright nor public domain are mentioned. David
  6. I've got it here. Here are some quotes:
  7. THE WAY OF LIFE OR THE WAY OF DEATH is a 125 page spiral bound book by Lionel Recio and Steve Lefevers written in 1987 debunking a lot of *twi-think* from the twi-1 days, though I'm guessing that it is all applicable through to the present. My ex just called me and still has her copy she found while cleaning out old boxes, and is going to either trash it or give away. Anyone want it??? :) David

  9. His ultimate plan? It was His original plan and went by the name Garden of Eden
  10. Hey there Bishop. Welcome to Greasespot. :) David
  11. Hey!!! There's a name I haven't seen in a while! ;) Happy birthday to ya, Tonto!! David
  12. Seriously -- A friend of mine had a great little digital recorder that he occasionally brought to jam sessions, so he could record and learn new tunes. It was about the size of a pack of cigarettes, and he could upload the music he recorded to his computer, and burn a disc of the session. It recorded really well (caught all our mistakes, and everything!), but I don't know who made it. He was a student here at UMD, and has since moved away. He would turn it on, lay it on the table we all sit around, and it did a great job of picking up the sound from all around the table, and not just from one direction. If you're going to use it for voice, you wouldn't need multi-track, would you?
  13. My eight-track is on the entertainment center right next to the beta machine, and the black and white tv.
  14. Bliss -- good points. And sadly it is those who purport to speak to God (or have God speak to them), who are most lacking . :( Yea --- fruit. You either have it, or you don't.
  15. Guess that when docvic reached for the cookie jar, it was empty, eh?
  16. Taken from Page 9 of This Thread :) David
  17. Hmmmmm. Is talking with folks On His Level the most important thing, or might it be getting the message across instead?
  18. Commenting on a certain poster's *viewpoint*, GrouchoMarxJr. said the following:
  19. As Raf said, the ministry left them. Imo, they are being more loyal by NOT staying with the aberration that twi became.
  20. They need to master pfal, and learn those revelation manifestations! :D

    Knocking on My Door

I'm thinking we all were, with perhaps the exception of the friendly folks from JWO that visited us last summer. ;)

    Knocking on My Door

Well -- I'll tell ya Allan -- believe what you want, hang on to that which is important to you, and let others do the same. :) David
