Brother Speed -- on the second page of the *every pic* section, Cindy! posted a pic of Allan and his family for him. You can find it HERE. I just went there and didn't see anything, so I'm guessing pics haven't been transfered from the old site (or something) yet. Maybe it will show up on your computer. (edited to say *I'm guessing, rather than *I guessing*.)

Allan -- I am trying to impress no one, and the last thing I am looking for is *wedding bells*. I was married once for 10 years, and have been single for 20 years. While I admire women, I don't see a relationship in my future cause when it comes down to brass tacks -- I am someone that is into what I am into, and no woman would want to put up with that. Now -- with that being said, yes I was VERY FLIPPANT when I was in twi. My ex and I, and one other married couple were the *problem children* (if you will) of the local twig back in Bloomington, Indiana. The four of us came out of a Jesus Freak group, and we all took the class within a year of each other (this is 1975 I'm talking about), yet we never ever did knuckle under to the twi authority, or their prescribed methods of doing things. Even though we had had the class, and went to twig, and attended limb functions, there was enough of the *rebel* in us to question the doctrine and practices of twi, even while we were all in. JAL was the limb leader of Indiana at the time, and I remember a few times (though he may not), that we had him figuratively wringing his hands, wondering how to deal with us. So there is your answer. FYI -- I'm the same person now as I was 20 years ago. I wasn't a hypocrite then, nor am I one now. Nor have I called you one. If I don't agree with what you are saying, I'll say so -- but by the same token, I will defend your right to say it. Now -- have a couple cold ones, and relax. :) David

This is not a twi saying, but since you invoked Will Rogers, here is one from Ronald Reagan.

--C- BOGUS --D- --E- Geez, almost makes a cross! Spooky! :o heh heh heh! :D

"The greatest cargoes in life come in over quiet seas". Even though I like this saying, in twi-speak this coulda been translated as (more or less) "Don't rock the boat, or make waves. Our ABS ship is coming in!" :D  :D

I wonder what mainstream Christianity would say if they knew the origins of the "Let go, and Let God" statement! :o

About Albert Cliffe from THIS SITE. Lots of familiar phrases in there, eh?

They can't answer cause they've already got both feet in their mouths. No room for anything else if they were to try to answer your questions!

And I might add that it has been *retired* as a lighthouse, and it's beacon is lit only one time every year ---- on 10 November, in honor of the crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald. David

Hey!!! That's Split Rock Lighthouse!! It's barely 35 miles from my house! That must be a pic from a previous year, since the colors aren't quite that vibrant yet up here, though they are getting there fast.

What a nice thought!

And I might suggest the same to you, Alan. Especially when you comment about *limp-wrist* men. For yer info -- a limp wrist is what any quality fiddlepicker (country, bluegrass, or classical) looks for, since it gives both flexibility and definition to the notes being played. Don't give me that *limp wrist* line, and expect to make it stick when you apply it to someone like myself! I know what you meant, but the meaning transcends boundaries that you are apparently not cognizant of. If I were you I'd stick to a known entity like pfal, and post on whatever boards twi makes available. Obviously, the free-thinking, free-wheeling posts and ideas of this site, do not mesh with your thinking, so why do you want to be *yoked with oxen* that are contrary to you? Hmmmmmmm???? Just a thot!! David

And I'll say it again -- Godspeed. :) (Sounds like you made a logical, rational desiciion -- and I hope you see it through!). Good luck! David

WayferNOT said --- This is so true. And despite the fact that some stories seem to be *made up* (to some folks), and *the poster with the most stories wins* --- THERE ARE ENOUGH OF US OUT HERE TO REFUTE ANY AND ALL FALSE CLAIMS!! In other words, no one on this site can flippantly claim crap, and get away with it if they dare to name names, and dates. We've been there. We were suckered too. We all remember the refuse that flowed downhill from twi many years ago, as if it were yesterday. If someone comes in here making up stories, you can bet your last bottom dollar that some one of us will call a spade a spade, and demand the proof. The Greasespotters range from twi-1 to current, and (IMO) with our collective knowledge, we now have a very viable *hedge of protection* against any and all who wish to steal our freedom, some of it newly found, and some of it realized 2 decades or so ago. I'm off on a tangent here, but I think it is in accordance with NOT revealing personal messages. Twi has chosen to monitor this site, to find out who the miscreants are. The more they are kept in the dark, the better I like it. David

Hey!! :) I was just being goofy, but the point ( I hope) was made that private talk between posters should remain so. Private message areas can be fertile ground for dissent, gossip, and general unrest and *uprising* -- but I choose to believe that most here will take something said in confidence, and not reveal it to the general populace. Also I believe that most here use the private message section of this site honorably, and not with malicious intnet. Lord knows I've had my chances to mis-use it, and didn't. Hate to use the analogy, but *it's a locked box* to me. :) David

I once wrote a private message to a public person in the private section of a public forum which indicated a preference for privacy and not wishing for publicity (since I invoked the privacy from publicity), in public by privately posting on the public forum's privacy site that publically demonstrated privately there in the privacy from the public forum that my private comments should remain so. That public person in the private section of the public forum took the private message publically said in privacy and misconstrued private thoughts publically declared in the privacy section of the public forum not as private thoughts (though publically declared there), but rather as public thoughts learned in private and meant for publicity on a public forum, and up for private interpretation. Hmmmmmmm. I would NEVER do that! :D :D :D David

http://renderv327.mappoint.net/render-30/g...CE3BCA75ADD8752 I tried the link, and the *UNBRANDED* station (the one with the name by Phillips 66), is 4 blocks from my house. Here it says they are charging $2.50 per gallon. Went over there, and they are charging $2.66. Guess I shoulda gone over there the minute I saw this thread, eh? :D David

Here in Minney-Soda, all *vulnerable adults* (those with disabilities) are among the first to get vaccinated. All medical personel (and *support staff* - such as myself) are right up there with them. Am not sure of the exact "chain of command" on this up here in our state, but I do know that *my guys* get priority over a lot of other folks.

Hmmm. Have always tried to *play nice*, and my sincerest apologies if it came across differently.. I thought the previous as something worth quoting here. Nothing more, nothing less. If you know me, you know I don't try to *slam* anyone. :) David

VPW's Source for the Law of Believing

Mike -- you don't get the picture, simply because you don't want to see the picture. In case you don't remember (and I admit you have talked to a lot of folks on this site), I once offered you my e-mail, my prayers, my concerns, my hopes that you would at least LISTEN to someone else on this site, but you have steadfastly refused to consider any viewpoint other than your own. I have not changed personality at all. I am still the same old dmiller you have talked to in the past. Perhaps your perception of me has changed?? Please remember that we are gonna disagree. Your definition of *god-breathed* is gonna differ from mine, I am going to cite the bible, while you cite vpw. While you cite a valid point or two, I've yet to hear you admit that I (or anyone else) has a valid point against what you have to say. You are steeped in elete-ism (sp?), plain and simple. For what it is worth, I used to be the same way --- but I found the words of others to be an enlightening source of consideration, if nothing else. Seems to me you are rejecting even that. Grow up, and listen to others, while you can -- and if you will (but I think this is falling on deaf ears). David -

VPW's Source for the Law of Believing

Some good points here, and all point to the fact that there is no *Law of Believing*. Some were commended for having little faith; Others castigated for having little faith; Some had great faith, though not *in the family*; Others had little faith, while *in the family*. I certainly believe in peoples ability to have different measures of *faith* and their heart behind it. Seems like the heart is the determinate factor, be the faith great or small. IMO --- docvic came up with the Law of Believing phrase, and sold it wholesale. Now we are talking about it (as if it exists), without looking at the biblical examples put forth by Evan and WTH. There was no law of believing (*saint and sinner alike*) that worked like docvic said it would in pfal. Everything (my IMO) that he said about the subject there dealt with conquering adversity by believing things could be better (individually), rather than believing in God's ability to perform the promises He made (collectively). By the same token, there is faith -- and sometimes those that had little reaped a lot. And those that had little were looking for the things God promised, rather than just looking to utilize an *ability* to enhance their own desires. What the bible has to say about faith, and what docvic has to say about the *law of believing* are two separate entities. One contradicts the other. One depends on God the source for blessings, and the other depends on the steeling of the human mind to believe for that which would have been *unavailable* otherwise. Everything I have ever read in pfal or the studies in abundant living has led me to the conclusion that God can be manipulated by my thought process, rather than my thought process should be in accordance with His will. Personally -- I reject the pfal version that glorifies man over God. David
