I use a private internet company, My tv has the 5 major networks, My phone company is from Wisconsin (cheaper than Quest) If I want to watch cable, I do so at work, And life is good! Comcast?? It doesn't sound like they have much to offer to me. :) :)

Lake Superior is a magnet for tourists. We have several tourist information booths around town. I went to one, and in my best Stephen Wright voice, asked ... "So ---- what can you tell me about some of the tourists who have passed through here recently?" :D

No, but I did notice he had a pretty *thorough* disclaimer along with the dire warning. Gotta love it how they preach *doom and gloom*, and then turn around with an all-inclusive statement that Covers Their A$$ when (said dire predictions) don't come to pass.

If there were more parents like these, this world might be a more sane place.

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot

30 years ago today, the Fitz went down. Split Rock Lighthouse was *retired* a coupla decades ago, but today (as on every 10th of November), it's beacon will be lit up once more, in memory of the 29 that died that night, just short of Whitefish Bay, Michigan. Split Rock is just a bit north of Two Harbors, Mn. from which the Fitz last set sail, that fateful night.
