    Breaking wind

Back in the time of the Samurai there was a powerful emperor who needed a new head Samurai so he sent out a declaration throughout the country that he was searching for one. A year passed and only 3 people showed up. The emperor asked the first Samurai to come in and demonstrate why he should be head Samurai. The first Samurai opened a match box and out pops a little fly. Whoosh goes his sword and the fly drops dead on the ground in 2 pieces. The emperor exclaimed, "That is very impressive!" The emperor then asked the second Samurai to come in and demonstrate. The second Samurai also opened a match box and out pops a fly. Whoosh whoosh goes his sword. The fly drops dead on the ground in 4 pieces. The emperor exclaimed, "That is really very impressive!" The emperor then had the third Samurai demonstrate why he should be the head Samurai. The third Samurai also opened a match box and out pops a fly. His flashing sword goes whoooooooossshhh whoooooooossshhh whoooooooossshhh whoooooooossshhh whoooooooossshhh. A gust of wind fills the room, but the fly is still alive and buzzing around. The emperor, obviously disappointed, asks, "After all of that, why is the fly not dead?" The third Samurai smiled, "If you look closely, you'll see that the fly has been circumcised!

  4. Off topic?? Naw -- I think you're taking it up to the next level. :) If docvic said and believed that sickness was death in part or in whole (and he was talking about the human body) -- think of the ramifications of that there with the spiritual body. More specifically the twi body. Sickness (infection or whatever) within the spiritual body would do the same -- death in part or in whole. Am surprised docvic didn't talk about this (since he *spiritualized* fornication and adultary to his benefit), to make a point that twi shouldn't have any *sickness* causing that death (in part or whole --POW). Or maybe he did -- with all the M&A, and the debbul spirit accusations made against righteous folk who happened to think twi was off track in some areas. And because of that, what you said about us being part of the problem doesn't really hold water, since it was made quite clear, that if we were interested in fellowshipping with the *One True Body* of twi, then we had to listen to (and agree with) the MOG. Personally -- I believe sickness is *death* in POW, but I agree with Geo about the *sloganizing* of things like this that make no concrete point, but are only intended to make the speaker sound like they know what they are talking about. Now -- if dear old docvic had *spiritualized* this and was talking about twi, he mighta had some fire behind that statement, since that sickness woulda caused death in POW, and hit him where it hurt most -- the wallet. ;) David

Sorry Shell. My puter can't load the *new* version of Java needed. Y'all have fun, and don't say too many bad things about me. :D David
  8. and ---- Mstar -- Hmmmmm. Gotta think about this, but my gut feeling is me-thinks you are right. David
  9. This, I honestly don't remember. I do remember the announcement of lcm being the new prez, and him getting his *jollies* by saying how he was the 2nd this, the 2nd that, and so on from the SNS announcement tape (we were on a live phone hook-up also that night here in Duluth). He made it a point to hammer home the fact that his being the 2nd prez of twi followed everything he had done previously, and of course we all know that the number two (Bullinger) means: ESTABLISHED!!! well --- he done did *establish it* all right. :( (ps -- since he is such a sports nut, he shoulda remembered the old sports adage: "2nd place means you are the first loser." David
  10. Dang, Bow --- That list of yours describes a buncha Minney-sotans too! Here a traffic jam is two guys driving pickups stopped in the middle of the road, and a third one behind them waiting to join the conversation! and you're truely Minney-sotan, if you know that *lutefisk* is a clean word. or if you buy 50 pounds of salt for your sidewalk, and 12 ounces for your food. or if you know that *choppers* means mittens, not motorcycles. or if you know that *bunny boots* have nothing to do with rabbits. Or if you see jumper cables attached from one car to another -- You think they are mating!! :D (ps -- at the grocery store yesterday, I saw 8 running vehicles in the parking lot with no one inside, and it was only 15 degrees here. That's mild by our standards.)
  11. Geez --- and the homepage is even twi green. Where's the gas pumps for all that snow to fall on???
  12. I saw this on the other thread too. An apt analogy! ;) Consider thyself *humored!! David
  13. Happy birthday, Digi! Here's hoping it's a good one. :) David
  14. Thank you WordWolf. What a great thread.
  15. and ----------- Thin Lizzy -- now that I am out, I've been able to see more objectively how God has chosen many organizations for me in my life. Of course if one is *in*, then there is no alternative to it, except for twi. Looking over my past, I see ---- He chose a small non-denominational *full-gospel* church in southern Illinois to get me to the altar. He chose a college Jesus Freak group in southern Indiana to get me involved in fellowship. He chose a small Weslyan church to teach me about God's grace vs. His wrath. He chose a charismatic Catholic group to get me speaking in tongues. He chose twi so I could hear the Word like it hasn't been taught since the first century. (did I really just say that!!!???) Someone give me a *dope-slap*! Point I am trying to make is I now see God uses many groups/denominations as we individually need it. Maybe some will say I just *happened* upon these fellowships at the right time, and they could be right. I dunno. Who does for sure? What convinces me that God had a hand in it is -- He knew my heart's desire (at that time) and He is Jehovah-Jireh -- Jehovah will see, or provide. Interesting thing (to me at any rate) is that I think the first occurrance of this is in Genesis 22:14 where Abraham is about to sacrifice Isaac. In verse 13, he sees a ram caught in a thicket by his horns. What does God provide?? A replacement. A substitute. The ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Christ had the *crown* of thorns on His head (ram in a thicket). He's the replacement, the substitute for us and because of Him, God takes us where we need to be, when we need to be there. (IMO) ps -- I learned this from a Messianic group on a friday night bible study, when Pastor Stan was hammering home points about the *types* of Christ in the OT. (I better shut up here -- or I'll relegate this to the doctrinal forum!) :D Anyway -- if that includes twi for you, have at it and enjoy. Sadly, their track record leaves a lot to be desired and I for one would be pretty hesitant to go back to a group that does a better job of imploding, rather than exploding on the world religious scene. The last twi fellowship I was at wasn't very sweet, but by then legalism had done it's dirty work (mid 1980's). If your fellowship is a *rocking* one, enjoy it while it lasts. The twigs I went to were (overall) invigorating and fun, but once hdqtrs got wind of it, we got the word that *fun* was out, and obedience was *in*. :( (hope you're not *over and out* for good -- stick around!) :) David

  18. Doojable -- welcome to Greasespot. :) I don't dwell on the past either, and the time I spend here is devoted to me and the others here, not twi. Twi is a closed chapter in my life, but I find it comforting to talk and reminisce (sp?) with others who have gone through the same *junk* that I did. And in doing so, I have found a big *family* of folks to relate to about all sorts of things. Some think the same as I, and some think different. Even the disagreements I have here are more enlightening than the *agreements* I had with the twig, branch, or limb way back when. Good luck on finding the folks you are looking for. And I hope you don't consider your time here *wasted*, or giving time to twi. I don't, and I think most here think similarly. We are regaining what was stolen from us, one post at a time. Although twi is the *common denominator*, each and every one of us is the main subject, and not twi. Thankfully, most here see that, and do their best to help others pull themselves up through conversation, discussion, etc. I've made many mistakes in the past (twi was just one of them), and I find myself thinking (these days) about how I might have done better, all the time. Just because I try to rectify, or justify mistakes from the past, doesn't mean I am paying homage to them by thinking about them. Hope you stick around. This is a great place, with wonderful folks. :) David
