  1. Sunnyfla said: "I never had a problem trusting God" I agree with this. I haven't either. My *search* has always been for a more complete knowledge, a better way of doing things, better understanding of the scriptures, etc., so that I could do what was required of me -- and I looked to denominations to tell me how to accomplish that. I've been in a lot of denominations before twi for exactly that reason. I was in twi for that reason. I left twi for that reason. That reason still is with me today, though some of those denominations are not. If I have had problems with ANY religious outfit, I have never laid the blame at God's door-step. As either Mark (or Evan) said: "God got me into twi, and then got me out of it" (paraphrase). God works with who He can, when He can, and wth -- sometimes that even includes cults like twi. I have NO PROBLEM with God. It's the outfits that claim to represent Him that cause the problems.
  2. Maybe they shoulda had pics of max'd out credit cards, or daggers through wallets instead. Might have gotten a modicum of communnity support for their *cause*. As non-practicing Jews, where do they get the idea Christmas is from the bible?? :D They are as clueless as other denominations about the subject.
  3. There’s this old man that had just bought a brand new sports car, and he wanted to see how fast it would go. So he gets out on the highway and kicks it up to about 70. He thinks well, lets see if we can get it up to about 120 . So he pushes on the gas and get up to about 85. About that time a state trooper gets behind him. So he speeds up to about 100, and continues to try and outrun the cop. He gets to about 115 and gives up and pulls over. The cop gets out of his car and walks up to the old man. He says I only have 15 more minutes left on my shift and if your excuse is good enough I’ll let you go without writing you a ticket. The old man blurts out... Well, About 5 years ago my wife ran off with a state trooper.... I thought you were bringing her back .....

    Bad day

    Good $h!t!!! ;)
  5. Belle -- I hear that! Why anyone would subject themselves to that is beyond me. It takes all kinds to run this world, and I'm glad I'm a spectator, rather than a participant.
  6. Well --- yer right (even though I got this off of the internet after seeing it in the local paper). Mea Culpa, Chef. I find the guy to be a *two-timer* (given what I know about him and his methods of saying one thing, and then doing another). If there is a Moderator handy -- please delete this thread. I spoke out of anger at other things he has done, and this happened to be a topic that I felt I could do some venting. Like I said Chef -- Mea Culpa. I should not have even brought this up. (and ps ---- yes --- I also was once hauled to jail for the same thing 13 years ago.) Learned my lesson. Won't do it again With all due respect to Mayor Bergson, I hope he learned his lesson too. Everyone deserves a second chance.
  7. Ok.. Here goes. At the risk of extending this thread to another 100 plus pages: Here is docvic's "last lost teaching" Read it, and decide for yourself if it is/ or is not *B* (as in *B*) and *S* (as in S*). He said NOTHING that inspired me. Mike -- this is your *baby*. Say what you want, say what you will. You'll be digging a deeper grave for yourself, since docvic is saying the same old. IMHO -- Docvic said nothing new. I'd call this a graveside confession, but that might be too magnanimous. docvic (to the end) promoted himself, and pfal. Period.
  8. Had a tad too much to drink -- (0.161) over double the limit to be driving. Headed for Eau Claire, Wisconsin (150 miles away) Made it half-way (to Spooner, Wi.) Couldn't negotiate a curve on the road (I've driven by there many times myself), and it's a tricky one. n Don't try it drunk, like he did. And he tried it at 6:30 in the evening, drunk off his ***. Question -- if he had a blood alcohol level of 0.161 at 6:30 pm, Friday the 9th --- how did he spend his day at work for the city?? Was he giving an honest days's work? Or imbibing? Here is the article: This is a guy who became the *darling* of all the liberals up here, by doing things like refusing to meet the prez of the USA (yea -- geo bush) when he was in town, publically saying that he wanted to turn Columbus Day into Indigineous Person's Day, and other sundry things that were equally stupid and then --- Was a belligerent drunk to the cops who arrested him, thought he had rights because of his *status*, and is denying that alcohol is a problem in his life. Anyone got a mayor of their town/community that is like this?? I hope not. This one is bad enough. :(
  9. Well --- Ratzzzzzzzz. I see my link didn't work. Must be God's will no one sees it, eh? ;)
  10. Sure, it's quite possible, but consider and remember that he had been *slipping up* for over 40 years. Does his last lost teaching (as Mike puts it) as one of his final exhortations negate everything he did previously while *slipping up*??No -- I would call it a jail-house conversion at best, and not a very good one at that. He sees the end coming while he is in Scotland. He gives a teaching called THE JOY OF SERVING. If ya wanna read it, it is HERE, and it has the same old, same old in it. He talks of mastering pfal, not the bible. He credits pfal for the good the twi *family* does, not the bible. Pfal is the source of power for witnessing, not the bible. docvic does say -- But just before that statement, he said: Sound familiar??? He didn't just describe the world, He defined twi to a*T*. Shucks -- while I am at it -- here's the *master pfal* statement Mike is so fond of: No bible. No intercessary prayer. No financial giving out of the heart for those in need. No Jesus Christ. JUST PFAL. I don't think he was trying to get folks off of him, and back to the word like you said. He was still hung up on the decades of thinking he had immersed himself in and couldn't shake it even there at the end. David
  11. Ha. Like Raf said -- there's nothing to forgive. And why not get your feet wet quickly. ;) It would have come up sooner or later anyway (again). David (ps -- *THE READER'S DIGEST VERSION*) What was the other thread --- 200 plus pages? SSDT -- same stuff different thread
  12. Dang!!! Would love to help ya out there, but I have a car key stuck in mine, and I'm still working on that!!! Jeff Foxworthy is right --- I guess I'm a red-neck. :D
  13. What a bummer!! Just think of all the great *night owls* ya coulda held there!
  14. Happyasaclam --- Welcome to Greasespot Cafe!! I guess that other family had all their *needs and wants* parallel, eh??
  15. Ok Mike, I'll stop talking about you (although I've said less here about you, than the subject at hand). You said: and ----- The *phenomenon* of the many passages in pfal being "very close to" passages in other writings is no phenomenon at all. It's theft. I'm not a stocks and bonds kinda guy, but if you had a bunch of stock in a certain company, and then got insider info about that company going down the tubes, and you dumped your shares on the market for your own personal profit before they did and got caught -- you'd be looking at jail time. Using info from others for personal profit. Stealing. Theft. Illegal use of info. Etc., Etc., Etc. Which leads me to this definition courtesy of Mr. Webster --- (just citing my sources here!) ;) Docvic found a group of biblical ideas (already in class and book form), re-packaged them, put his name on it, and CHARGED MONEY FOR IT!! Couldn't be plainer than nose on anyone's face, despite your definition (or lack thereof) of what plagiarism is. As always Mike -- I have no animosity for you, but I sure wish you would see things in proper perspective. Oh --- and you also said: Well -- don't know about the inerrant part, but I don't dare change a word in: My Funk and Wagnalls!!! :D
  16. PS -- did I really say this????? Hmmm -- guess I did. Surely enough you are convinced in your own mind, but there must be some nagging doubt back there somewhere since you continue to make excuses, rationalize away disputations, and (yes) move the goalposts whenever an accurate accusation is leveled your way. If you were 100% convinced, you wouldn't be *waffling* like you are (these days). Either stand by what you said, or say nothing. (I guess the last is too much to expect, eh?)
  17. Much of what you say, Mike, can be read and understood in the one-liners you throw out and expect others to believe as Gospel. I'm thinking that if you really believed and were convinced of what you said your own self, you wouldn't have to *hide* behind context being from an entire page, and entire thread, or other threads where the *exact same topic* might be being discussed. (and it puzzles me why *the exact same topic* would have several threads about it, when one would suffice). Personally -- I think WordWolf has done a stellar job of quoting you (AND providing documentation) and your attempts to belittle his efforts will amount to naught since it seems you have a hard time facing an issue head-on, and utilize *duck and dodge* techniques at every opportunity. He provides quotes, and documentation. You provide supposition, and no documentation. But of course -- to fully understand what you have said, we must: read it in the verse; read it in the context; read it in it's previous usage; (and I suppose this applies too---) read to whom it was written. And no -- I do not have the *leisure time* to read all your stuff, or try to figure out where you are being facetious vs. serious. If yer trying to *fun us* (in your terms), let us know ahead of time so you don't get blamed for anything needlessly, ok? I'd hate to see that happen.
  18. Dang!!! Why does the *PC* crowd insist I use this thing before each show?? I swear -- my job is becoming a three-ring circus!
  19. John -- Hey. God bless you too. Was wondering about you the other week when Brother Speed came back home from over there. Here's hoping you'll do the same shortly. :) David

    Hungry Pig

Bowling balls and books -- eh???????? Here comes the *FIVE FROM ON HIGH*!!! (Have a nice day now, hear??)
  21. White Dove -- yea -- it was a sad end. He did some righteous teachings back in Indiana. Too bad he didn't listen to himself (as it were). The story I read about him is HERE, and it saddened me to see someone who was pretty dynamic (at one time), fall so low. But then again we all make choices, eh? Excie --- most of us rednecks from southern Indiana have always been suspicious of government, and their designs upon the *general populace*. Life can be good there, and we don't need federal rules to show us how to live. Makes me wonder (time and again), why I stick around Minney-soda, where most take the governmental crap handed to them on a stick so willingly. Well -- guess I just said we all make choices, eh?
  22. Ps ----- but then again *If You Could Imagine* that there pizza hitting you in the eye WITH PINEAPPLE ON IT then argueably half the crowd here at GSC would say that a pizza didn't really hit you in the eye, since (according to some here) pineapple negates the word pizza. At the risk of revivng the pizza-pie wars here at GSC, that might help you forget the tune too, if you are one of the *infidels* who claim that pineapple has no place on top of a slice of pizza!! ALL HAIL PINEAPPLE AND CANADIAN BACON ON PIZZA!! :biglaugh:
  23. If listening to Jay Ungar won't get rid of it, nuthin will. ;)
  24. Well -- (cough) -- (ahem) --- The pink Tutu kinda does match the pink of your flowers in your avatar.  (but I'm betting it isn't color yer talking about, eh??) :D
