  1. May I add my 2 cents worth here? Idolatry (by this definition) is a wide blanket that covers a lot of folks, and/or denominations. Mike has entered the mix by declaring pfal to be *God-breathed*. Fine. So be it. But by the same token, Mike has taken single words (from the way magazine) from one paragraph, and linked them to other words (in other paragraphs), and then said --- SEE -- THIS IS GOD TALKING THROUGH DOCVIC. He promotes the *hidden messages* found there-in. I'm not being facetious. He is more than serious about this agenda. While I will agree that there is some good talked about in docvic's teachings, I would never extend myself to the point to link one word in an opening paragraph, to another in a concluding paragraph, FROM THE WAY MAGAZINE, And then say --- This is God speaking, wake up and listen. I don't know about you Oldies, but this to me is idolatry -- and by the definition you provided us with.

    Deadly Dog Food

Which leads one to wonder --- Who is smarter?? The pet, or the owner???
  3. Whadda-buncha- --- nemmer mind.
  4. Maybe that's the route to go then, eh???
  5. Nonesense! If you can't see the difference, any explanation given would be lost to you.
  6. Spirits cast out *screwed up her whole life*?? Hmmmmmm!
  7. Geez -- I got my first computer in mid 2003. It was given to me, and I remember wondering --- "What the *H* is this thing good for?????"

    Miners

Nellie -- from what I have heard (emphasis on heard), the company that now owns the mine just aquired aquisition of it this last November. They were aware of *deficiencies*, and moved to correct them as best they could. They (according to what I heard), were working on alleviating all, but this happened before they (obviously) did not correct all. Regardless --- it is still tragedy. I agree with Linda on this one.
  9. Oldies -- yea that makes sense (to me). But they don't have anything worth buying.
  10. And ~~~ May I add one thing more? I have no problem with the phrase *See Ya At The Bema*. Since you get a letter from her, I'm guessing you two don't have *local* contact. Meebe she is using it as a *kiss off*, and maybe not. *See Ya At The Bema* is a phrase I might well use in signing off on a letter, if I didn't expect to see that person (physically), for quite a while -- or ever again. Like I said -- you know her, we don't. If *rattling her cage* will work, do it. If a kind response is needed, do it. But as far as that phrase goes ---*See ya at the bema* it's just one more way to say *see ya later!* Again -- just my imho. David
  11. It's always nice to be nice. If you care about her, respond. I would. It may be a *form* letter, but hey -- ya never know. You know her best (vs. us here), so what you have to say may be pertinent to her (as Rascal said -- I think) down the road, if not now. I wouldn't blow it off, but that's me. Every last somebody deserves dialouge, if they are looking for it. You are in the unique position of offering that to this person. my imho. :) David
  12. Man -- I never realized your house had to look a *certain way* to hold a twig there. We (my ex and I) held twigs here for a coupla years, and never changed nuthin. :) She's a weaver, so some of her wall-hangings were on the walls. We NEVER had pics of docvic (or BOT, etc.) on the walls, but those of nature, and things we liked. When folks came to twig here, they came to OUR house, not some sterile environment. TV stayed in the living room, books stayed on the shelves, no way mags *on display*, coffee available for those that wanted it, tea for those that did not like coffee (everyone had cup in hand during fellowship), and if ya wanted to hang around after fellowship --- beer in the fridge (Leinenkugel long-necks). Smoking was allowed on the back porch where (beers in hand), we would talk about the teaching we just had, what we had been learning during the past few days, yada yada. Some folks in town had their houses all *done up* with the twi paraphenalia, but I (in my ignorance), thought that was just how they lived, and what they preferred.
  13. That's been my experience with them as well. From what I remember of when CES first started, the focus was on *research and teaching*. Docvic and his sayings were considered water under the bridge.
  14. OUCH!!! I feel sorry for the guy, but -----
