  1. Oak --- IMO, agnostics like you (forgive me if I'm calling you something you aren't), seem to know more about the bible, than those of us who profess to believe it. ;)
  2. Heh heh heh!!! I agree! ;) I've learned more by considering Oak's posts than I have from --- Oh -- nemmermind. Let's just say he knows his stuff! :)
  3. Either that, or ------- "Once upon a snowy summer day .... "

    The Cone of Winter

    Here ya go, Moony. :)
  5. Getting out in '86 (or there-abouts), I had friends in Indiana who kept me supplied with written material (corps notes, clergy meetings, the pop, the adultery paper, personal letters, etc.), which told me the whole story of what was going on. Got my first computer in 2003, and then I got internet service about 6 months after the puter. Decided to check up on twi one evening, and when I did, one of the first sites to come up about it was the No Way Out site. I saw names of folks I had known there, and some of the scandals they were involved in. I think it's true that you can take the *Way* out of a person, but it is hard to take the person out of the *Way*. You always seem to come back to see what part of your distorted past is still going on. Leastways I did (and still do). I stay here today, because here is a great bunch of folks that went through the same crap I did, and are survivors. :)
  6. Paw --- this is incredible! Like Krys said --- Wicked Cool!!
  7. I walked into a Baptist church once (on my own), and found 3 ex-twi folks there. I stuck around for a while. The Pastor's messages were pretty good, despite the *Jesus is God* rhetoric. When that pastor left, I did too. His replacement was not as understanding. He (the original guy) and I had a few *heart to hearts*, and he saw where I was coming from.. IMO -- he did a better job than docvic, Despite his trinitarian leanings. :)

    Coffee

Shucks -- I get 5 pounds at one time. (lasts me about 2 1/2 weeks). It's always Starbucks French Roast (from Sam's club - cheapest by far). I couldn't imagine life without JEHOVAH-JAVA, THE LORD OUR STIMULANT!!!!
  9. Went to work today, at the group home, and one of the clients (Larry) wanted to go to the Polar Bear Plunge, down at Lake Superior. None of the other staff at the house wanted to go stand in the cold, so I went. We saw lots of folks we knew there, and some were actually jumping in. The *plunge* benefits the Special Olympics up here. You get sponsors to donate money, if you jump in the lake. FYI -- Lake Superior *hovers* (year round) at around 34 degrees. Snow was falling, and temps were dropping --- (22 degrees at 3pm) Here's some pics, from a coupla years ago (we were there for that one too). Here is the *crew* who were in the water for the entire time. Today -- one of those guys in the wet-suit, came out of the water, stood by us, and said "I'm sweating!" Dang! (and yes -- that is ice they are standing on, and a big chunk had to be cut out so they could jump in. Brrrrrr!!!!
  10. Sorry for my tardy reply WordWolf -- I should have answered you sooner. No I do not KNOW that they are considering this, but here is what happened. Back when I was on dial-up and aol (the dark ages), I got an instant message from a guy named Sogwap (with a number after it) inviting me to a Pentecost celebration they were having *at the farm*. At first I thought it was the Sogwap who posts here occassionally, but it was a different number after the name, and was another person entirely. Plus -- this sogwap was in Minnesota, and when I asked if he kept in touch with Greasespot, he said he had no time for likes of us. Short of the long of it is -- he gave me his phone number (which I have lost due to the puter crashing), but I gave him a call. We talked for over two hours. PS ---- He signed off on the instant message with "Rev. Richter, over and out". (I may be spelling the last name wrong - not sure) Now -- this was when GSCafe was on the old board, and the PM's could be written in forum format. Mike had two *threads* going there, and since I am half-way kind to him, I was invited along with others. I thought Mike might be interested in talking with the guy, so I passed the phone number on to him. Back in the GSCafe pm's -- Mike thanked me for telling him about this outfit, and mentioned that they (on the phone) really talked about docvic's last teaching, (which the group up here was unaware of). Now -- enter my *assumptions*. Given the two hour talk I had with *Rev. Richter*, and given what Mike loves, It wasn't hard for me to put *two and two* together. This seemed like a *match made in Heavan*. Staunch Docvic-ites, and Mike there to tell them what they were missing. Like I said -- my phone conversation left me with NO DOUBT that docvic's teachings were pre-eminent in the *ministry* work they have going on there in the Minneapolis area. Granted I do not KNOW that they are really considering the last teaching, but given what I heard from Mike (in the old pm section of GSCafe); and given what I heard from that two hour phone conversation; I can say (for a fact) -- that this outfit will consider any and all, if it comes from docvic.
  11. The POP was the turning point for me too, SS. When that hit the fan, I realized all was not a *bed of roses*.
  12. Wait a minute -- that isn't coffee. It has *pollutants* on top of it -- like pizza with pineapple!
  13. I wondered where you were, WordWolf. :) It took no time flat for this thread to reach 3 pages! (ps -- same old, same old.)
  14. Mrs. Sudo??? Regardless -- Welcome to the site. :)

    Y'allbonics

I always know when I am in the South. Ya don't see U-Haul trucks, you see ----- Y'all Haul trucks!
  16. Ho-kay -- I read what you wrote the first time and I'll cut a little slack on your second response. Granted -- twi was SUPPOSED to be a family, and the folks there got the books. No need for citing sources amongst *family* members? Meebe I'll even agree with that (for now -- though it rankles). What you either fail to realize (or are completely ignoring), is the fact that those books were for sale to ANYONE who forked over the cash. The books were on sale at EVERY public event twi hosted. No *grad ID* was required for someone to buy a book. You could show up at the Rock, and buy whatever you wanted -- no questions. If *Joe off the street* bought a book, twi scrambled to get a follow-up on the guy. Shucks -- I remember once when twi suggested donating books to the local public library, so that they would be *out there* for folks to read. So what's the point?? The point is --- FAMILY wasn't the only group of people reading. And especially -- if those books were placed in a public venue (like the library), they were out there for anyone to read, and no proper credits given, like every other book there would have had. Don't say docvic wasn't bound by *literary law* because of *family*. He is guilty as charged. (Hmm -- does the *P* in his name stand for *plagiarizer*)?
  17. No --- I am not making up rules. Go to any university (I assume there is one there in San Diego -- maybe not), and ask any professor how it works. If you want -- I can do the same here in Minney-soda, and we could compare notes - eh? :)
  18. Mike I did read all that (on the other thread), and it made as little sense then, as it does now. Sure -- docvic claimed to have taught other's stuff, but when you get right down to it, he never gave them the credit IN HIS PRINTED WORKS!! If he didn't have the decency to acknowledge his sources IN PRINT, then he plagaurized. LOL --- would love to see him try to do the same to any college professor today. He'd a gotten kicked outta *class*, with a failing mark. Geeeeesh.
  19. I have met some very, very, VERY wonderful folks here. Some I have met face to face, others I know by *screen-name* only. It's all y'all that bring me here. My biggest satisfaction is finally finding the family that twi promised, but didn't deliver on. :) Midnight has come and gone, and we are here to tell the story!
