    Shoot the Sheep

I got as high as Bobbing Bobcat. But I scored more as an armadillo. :(
  2. Richard -- welcome to GreaseSpot. :) Radar has excellent advice. You're smarter than I was (research first, join later) when I got involved with twi (the way international). Fyi -- they hang on to some of Wierwille's teaching, but a lot of it has been thrown out and a lot of other stuff is being taught in it's place. So if you do join, you won't find much of what John H. was interested in. (imo) If you like ~~~ being micro-managed being told who you can and cannot talk to being required to go to fellowship pert near every day of the week; being required to *give* at least 15% of your income; being required to stay out of debt; being required to sell your house (house payments = debt in their eyes); being required to drive to Headquarters for Sunday fellowship (if you live within a 250 mile radius); being part of an outfit that is imploding being part of fake smiles, and hollow God-Bless-You's --- Then The Way is for you. John 4:23 ~~~ But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. IMO --- twi doesn't seek such, they seek suckers to add as *feathers in their cap*. Oh -- and by the way -- They don't include Jesus in their teachings. Rarely talk about God (these days), but rather promote their heavy handed doctrine to those folks who are unfortunate enough to be in attendance. It is all about them. Again (imho) they are using God as a meal ticket for those folks in authority in the top echelons of twi. And ya better be careful what you say, if you get in. They have a habit of tossing out loyal followers without a moment's notice, if you dare to think for yourself, and ask a question or two. Not being facetious here either (ask just about anyone here, about their experiences with *the org*) Still want to join?? ;) God bless ya though, for posing an honest questiion. Seek, and ye shall find David
  3. Did you mean 2 Tim 2:15 through 2:26?? To answer your question, no he does not. Pulled out my blue book, and 2 Tim 2:15 is the only verse he mentions in that chapter from 2 Tim (with the exception of 2 Tim 4:9,21). Interesting that you mention that series of verses as *full context*, Mark. I never thought of it that way before! Thanks. :)
  4. Actually -- I did get a copy of Jesus the Healer by Kenyon at an ROA (or some such other event). Offhand -- that is the only one I can think of that was for sale, besides the Bullinger stuff. What other books were offered for sale, Mike? I surely don't remember any by Stiles offered for sale.
  5. Well, I THOUGHT it worked well at one time. Time proved it different.
  6. Every time I log on here, I realize how ignorant I am!
  7. Oh -- and HERE is the link to the POP, if you haven't read it yet. ;)
  8. Shucks. For those innies lurking, here is THE LINK for the Adultary Paper that we were told would get us possessed, if we read it. ;)
  9. A$$holes!!!!! That is the most evil piece of doctrinal $h!t to come out of *headquarters*. Those folks could make cotton candy out of bat dung, and tell you it tasted good.
  10. I believe in believing in God's ability to fulfill His promises. I do not believe in my believing to accomplish *stuff* in my life. And I'll say a positive attitude sure beats a negative one, even though it isn't the ruling factor in my life. I've said it before, the *Law Of Believing* (as propounded by twi), is an evil, evil doctrine. It totally negates all that Jesus Christ did, and puts the load back on us. If the *Law Of Believing* was a viable entity, Jesus died in vain. Period.

Happy Valentine's Day to all. :)
  12. Dang -- It fit's like a hand in a glove!!

  14. Heh heh heh. From what WhiteDove said, Psalm71's puter must be working, and she's headed this way. Learn how to duck, TOTW, cause a food fight is surely about to begin! ;)
  15. I have an American flag pinned to the clapboards (sp?) on my front porch. It looks like this: . Across the street from me, the guys in one house prominently hang the rainbow flag. (Woops --- double post.)

  17. Sorry Mike. That won't *wash*. I know for a fact that the pfal books were put in libraries (for all to read), and that they were marketed to the public as well. I think the man's name was Jerry Jacks (I could be wrong), who was in charge of a marketing program that was designed to get the pfal books into the hands of non-grads. Pfal may not have been *produced* to gain the approval of the world, but they sure as h### were marketed that way. Thus my insistent complaints that docvic never cited his references. In his own words -- he was a *Piker*. He took the money and ran. He could have been honest about what he knew, and from whom he got it --- but he wasn't, and didn't. He would have been more credible, had he done so. Say what you want -- yer blowing smoke in the wind.

    Coffee

Cafe Diem!! (sieze the coffee, THEN sieze the day). ;)
  19. I hear ham sandwiches are good with a little ketchup and mustard.
  20. Giving from the heart matters, not percentages. ;)
  21. No -- it was Lester Flatt (of Flatt and Scruggs fame) who said that in *The Ballad of Jed Clampett*, which became the theme song for The Beverly Hillbillies. Earl Scrugg's tune *Foggy Mountain Breakdown* was used as the theme song for Bonnie and Clyde. (Just an fyi -- in the interest of Bluegrass preservation). ;)
