Well, you're right about athletes shaving, Belle. I was friends with Jim Counsilman (son of Doc Counsilman - former IU swim team coach), and he was on the same swim team Mark Spitz was on back in the early 1970's. Mark Spitz (you may or may not remember) won 7 gold medals in the 1972 Olympics in swimming. They all shaved their legs, arms, etc., for greater speed in the water --- but that was for competitiion, not public display. Sure -- I agree that it's fun for the kids, a novelty, builds camaraderie, etc., but there are a lot of things that could have been done (instead of this) to achieve the same goal. And if Bliss is uncomfortable with it, she would be remiss as a parent to NOT follow her instincts to protect her child. Fyi -- I have no kids either, but I applaud her sensitivity to do what she considers best for her kids as a mother. :)

I read nothing BUT legalism!!! I took AC in 79, and previous to that year, the ONLY requirements for taking AC were that you had to have had all of the *seminars* offered by twi, to get in. That meant: Foundational class Intermediate class Renewed Mind Witnesing and Undershepherding The way tree Dealing with the adversary And CF&S. Twi didn't care then at all about *nicities* or money (as per *reporting in*) --- Ya had to have taken the courses first, or no entrance to AC. Granted --- we were told it would cost *X* amount of $$$, but to hear now that they are *micro-managing* the available cash a prospective student has, is crazy. When I took it for a 2nd time, in 1981 ------- Our only requirement was that we had to be a grad of the class, and we had to take a written test. Just shows ta go ya where their thinking is at, eh?? Money, money, money, money (You pay us, make sure you have it on hand, and we want to know how much --but don't forget to ABS meanwhile). Sorry, but this irks me (big time). Ex10 was right -- there are many classes offered elsewhere that teach just as much (if not more), and NO such requirements are made (demanded) of *prospective students*. Fear is NOT the sand in the machinery of life TWI, and their love of money is. (just my IMO ---- as usual) David

And that's enough --- (to feel *icky*). Doesn't matter what we think, you're the Mom, and (imo) you are doing the right thing to protect your child, as YOU see fit. It may be harmless, but you're voicing concern, and that counts (since it's bothering you). Satori and Chef made good points. Up here -- things like that happen at the local schools, but it usually involves the teacher, (principal, or whomever), spending the night on the roof of the school in the dead of winter. At 7 years old, I think the *sex* factor of this stunt is a bit much. (just my imo)

Mike -- I remember about those 22 from the PT thread (since I was a part of it). I didn't think they made sense, since you *worked* the magazine articles the way some scholars work ancient texts. But --- whatever *floats your boat*. Like I said (somewhere else), those way rag articles were EDITED, yet you treated them like scripture, digging for hidden treasure, as if God Himself approved the orderly fashion in which they appeared on each page. And --- if I recollect correct, you took a coupla words out of one sentence, tied them in to another sentence a paragraph (or so away), and said: SEE!! I TOLD YA SO. Go ahead and post them. I seem to remember you got flack on the topic, even on the PT thread, and there were a bunch of staunch Wierwille-ites on that thread. (and PS --- Yes -- you've been asked several (many) times to post specifics, but so far you have done exactly as you said you did. You have posted generalities, coded comments, hints, etc., but no specifics. Now --- if you want to post specifics, you've been asked. And since you just said you would like to talk about the 22 - 90 occurances of *thus sayeth...." Well -- I do remember a corps guy up here (back in 79 or 80 - thereabouts) commenting on this. He said "docvic might have tossed out all those books he talks about, but he sure has a lot of them left in his library now!" I dunno. I guess I still discount the fact that he *read the bible only*. And it shows in his works --- since so much of other folks stuff is there prominently. And then, couple that with your quote from one of the way books where docvic says his work was not his own, but putting in the pfal format was his work. Well -- I can agree with that last statement. But I don't see him as reading the bible ONLY to get the pfal format he did. :) And neither did that corps guy from 25 years ago (or so). IMO --- if he did indeed thow out books, it was *cleaning the pantry*, and he re-stocked the shelves with fresh meat. -

I believe Lestoil was M&A'd a long time ago from twi headquarters, though his brother Moretoil can still be found there. *Grease Relief* spray is sold in the *privilidged* bookstore, (located in the chalet) but only to the bod, and waygb since they are the only ones permited to view this site. Rumor has it, that it's located next to the drambui. Internal cleansers, and external. :) BTW -- that last was a figure of speech! I'm sure they thought of that when stocking the aisles. ;)

Country boy goes to the city and decides to have breakfast in a restaurant. He ordered up a big helping of hash browns, 1/2 a dozen eggs, plenty of bacon, ham, a stack of pancakes with lots of butter and syrup. A city boy seeing all that food, comes over and says: "Man -- that stuff will harden your arteries!" Country boy replies: "My grand daddy live to be 93 years old". city boy: "HOW? LittleHawk -- where I go, both my mando and fiddle go. :) I would not dream of traveling without them. I just bought (first time ever) a brand new case, that will hold both of them. Here is a pic of it -- it is a double case, and holds a fiddle and mandolin both. (fiddle = 4/4 size, and mando = F-5 size)
