They were here in Duluth not too long ago. Buncha nuts. This took place in the middle of downtown.

I never did the counseling route, but I had my music hobby that I threw myself into pretty intensely for a while there. That helped me a lot, cause my ex and I split up right about the same time, so I was really on my own! Yea -- for me it was finding new ways of keeping busy, work, etc. It did take a (little) while, but eventually my new life did emerge. :) Yer right -- GSC is unique with all the understanding folks have of your problems (before you mention much about them), since they went through the same things. Always feel free to ask things here. Plenty of free advice, (as you've already found out)! ;)

Aww - Allan ---she's just giving the back ground for why she believes the statement should be "Why have you forsaken me?'. :) I don't mind it in the least. I'll never believe that way, but I appreciate hearing the reasoning behind it. I put my CES leanings out there, by posting the link I did. And some here would call those leanings BS too. :) -
Quandary -- that is fantastic! Keep loving them into living! :)

I've posted this link before about this topic, but here it is again from the truth or tradition site. It is one of the better explanations I have heard. Did God Really Forsake Jesus on the Cross? And yea -- methinks also that this belongs in doctrinal. ;) -
I used to think like that, but these days I would say ~~~ Start in Genesis, and end in Revelation. It is (after all) one book. :) Genesis 1:1, and John 3:16, and Eph. 3:20, and Revelation 1:3 are all important to me ~~~ I would be remiss were I to toss any of them out. Focusing on the church admin. is ok, but it's not the whole picture. (But that's me) And thanks for the God bless. :) Back at'cha with the same. ;)

ckmkeon --- I hear that. :) Many here are finding their way, without leaders (like we used to know), and are doing quite well. ;) Welcome to GreaseSpot (by the way) --- the old regime, (and it's *leader's*) are discussed here frequently. And I don't think there will ever be any getting around that. David

CAN BE TOLD IN CHURCH Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, "Why is the bride dressed in white?" "Because white is the color of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life." The child thought about this for a moment, then said, "So why is the groom wearing black?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran she prayed, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late! Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!" While she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again. As she ran she once again began to pray, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late... But please don't shove me either!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Three boys are in the school yard bragging about their fathers. The first boy says, "My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a poem, they give him $50." The second boy says, "That's nothing. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a song, they give him $100." The third boy says, "I got you both beat. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a sermon, and it takes eight people to collect all the money!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An elderly woman died last month. Having never married, she requested no male pallbearers. In her handwritten instructions for her memorial service, she wrote, "They wouldn't take me out while I was alive, I don't want them to take me out when I'm dead. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to "honor thy father and thy mother," she asked "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?" Without missing a beat one little boy answered, "Thou shall not kill." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Two boys were walking home from Sunday school after hearing a strong preaching on the devil. One said to the other, "What do you think about all this Satan stuff?" The other boy replied, "Well, you know how Santa Claus turned out. It's probably just your Dad. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sudo ~~~ I agree, and I thought of that too. Somehow, I followed (then) the Malachi teaching, but I would have absolutedly refused to drive to Ohio weekly, (or is that weakly???) (if mandated). When I saw this latest posting about *having* to attend, I didn't give it much attention, thinking that that is the way it is now. But DANG!! ~~ had they (twi) even dared to suggest that to me back when I was *in* in the 70's, I'd a been M & A'd much sooner!!!! It was WAY more free thinking back then. Even authority had to toe the line. BS statements like that would have been chucked in the woodpile.

Kit --- Happy Birthday. :) You have done so much, have asked for so little, and for/from so many. May this (your day) be special, and full of joy. God bless, and have a good one. :) David
