  1. HERE ARE SOME MORE FAT FREDDY'S CAT STORIES. :spy:
  2. New location for a weenie roast??? ;)
  3. So -- by this do you mean that they were clergy in attendance at the meeting, or just a part of twi at the time?? Now it's MY turn to not follow what is being said.
  4. Ck -- no sir -- you missed my point. I wasn't going *after you* at all because of your age. I would never do that. Oak expressed it better than I did. Let me try to re-state what I was trying to say. What I meant was -- we were around then, and had first-hand experience with the man, whereas your experience is from heresay (maybe your folks, maybe other people, and maybe it isn't even heresay), if they were there, but it still is not 1st hand experience (for you), like it was for those of us here who are making the supposed *accusations*. Someone here (I think it was rascal) mentioned Jesus calling the Pharisees for what they were. And it was mentioned that He wasn't being judgemental, but just calling a spade a spade. That is what we are doing here -- calling the cards as we have seen them fall, face up (current and past), on the table of life. Nothing more, nothing less. :) Hope that makes a little more sense.

    Machismo

Make sure your bosses know that you are documenting this stuff, give them copies of the documents (keep the originals), and if they tell you to mind your own business, document that too. Letting them know that his *attitude* has a distinct adverse effect on the work place, and that work productivity is down because of it, and being diligent (spoudazo') about it is what (should) do the trick, if your bosses care at all. That was the method we used at Noumenon House, to alleviate the problem of the tyrannical boss we had a year ago, and it was the *spoudazo'* mostly (along with the *paper trail*), that finally did the trick. (We also documented the times we had gone to upper management, (as well as the times of the incidents), and how well we were/ or were not received.) Good luck. :)
  6. I'm shakin' in my boots!!! (Great pic, Rascal!!) ;)
  7. Dang gummermint!!! Whadda buncha Pharisees!
  8. OH NO!!! They are learning to MASTER the materials!! (do they get to look at bibles too, or just these *resources*??)
  9. Hmmm. I grew up Catholic also (went to Catholic grade school), and when 7th grade rolled around -- all the boys were hauled over to the church by the Monsignor where they were to learn how to be altar boys. I was saved from this by Sister Regina Marie (my music teacher), who pulled me out of those ranks, and told Monsignor that he couldn't have me -- she wanted me to play organ for the daily mass instead (which I did instead of *altar boy duty*). But I'm getting off topic here --- Point I'm trying to make is, I had a helluva view from up there in the organ loft, and I played for mass each day before school during my 8th grade year, and there were never 5 crosses anywhere down there below me. At our church --- there was one big crucifix up behind the altar, complete with the body on it, wearing a crown of thorns, and sword wounds in it's side, the whole bit. That was the view from the organ loft. The last time I was in a catholic church was for my uncle's funeral a few years ago, and there was only one cross then as well. I don't know where you saw the 5 crosses. That's something new to me (in the Catholic churches I have been in) Granted it's been a few years now since I have been in one but ~~~ (I don't think they have changed that much - lately) Hmmm. 10. What do you mean by *the downward fall*? IMO -- the downward fall was because they fell into the grave they dug for themselves. Maybe you have a different explanation?
  11. Ck -- with all due respect, weren't you born on November 7, 1986??? You were just 15 days old, when this happened. We had a little more experience with the man than you did, when this was going on ;)

ps --- I watched it once, and didn't see the attraction, but hey --- that's me. :)

Methinks you just did, so I don't have to. ;)
  14. Galen -- as much as I (do/did) like the precepts in pfal, it's kinda hard to ignore what Jerry, and Raf have been saying about it. The *opposition* they offer is not based on hard feelings, but rather on thoughtfully examined scripture. Now --- I'm not gonna say don't run the class anymore, but have you ever considered printing out some of the stuff these two have taught us, and used that as a class? Novel thought, I know. But more truth in the end. And that's what you're looking for -- right? :)
  15. Well -- fer what it is worth -- my favorite is still THE COMPANION BIBLE. I do read the NIV, and others, but I'm a *notes* junkie. The companion bible has more of those than others, for you to look at. Interestingly enough --- the New World Translation Study Bible (the JW version) has a lot to offer too (as far as notes go). If you just want one to read, and not get into the *research*, I'd say go for NIV. (Just my IMO) :)
  16. I got married here, at Beck Chapel, on the Indiana University campus. JAL officiated, and Bill M*rton played harpsichord for the ceremony. They were invited to be a part of the wedding -- not control it. And control it they did not. They had no choice in the matter. I asked JAL to perform the ceremony, and he asked "When??" I gave him the date, and he showed up. We set up everything the way we wanted, families showed up, the local branch showed up, and there were good times had by all. It's sad that (nowdays), the whole thing has to be so micro-managed. At the reception, JAL was at one of the head tables, but not the head one. My mother, and my mother-in-law were in their glory, and if ANY minister would have presumed to have kicked them away from this (their moment), there would have been some SERIOUS $H!t flying!! This was 1975. The marriage got *rocky* later on, but it sure didn't start that way.
  17. So -- if you had a million bucks, given to you -- wouldn't your wealth be a *state of being* also? And if you were wealthy like that, I bet you would *manifest* the fact, by spending that money, investing it, whatever -- instead of just being content that you had the money, and were who you were. Manifesting the gifts, abilities, etc., that each and any of us have, is the evidence, that we are who we are. :)
  18. Anyone remember nickel bags?? 1 ounce = $5.00
  19. What was being *fixed* was the listing (on the Main Forum page) of who was in the chat room. Not the room itself. :)
  20. Safari (I think) is a Mac thing. I don't even think about IE anymore. :)
