Bug -- great post!! and I agree -- If you can't forgive, you're not much better than your accusers. (Takes a big man/ woman to *do the deed* of forgiving.) It's a certainty that the accusers won't take the *high road*, so it's up to us.

Hmmmmm. That says it all! ;) (Just my (cough!!!) IMO -- don't cha know.) ;)

It's ALL a part of the -----
-
Roy -- WhiteDove, and CoolWaters have to deal with this guy on a daily basis. :(
-
Shucks -- as much as I have posted, and talked about Duluth, Minney-soda, I reckon they can find me easy enough -- if they want to! ;)
-
Belle -- we have the Harley Riders up here as well, protecting the dignity of fallen soldiers. I forget what they call themselves -- *freedom riders*, or something like that. Any time Phelps and his crowd start spewing their Sh!t at the funerals ----- they rev up the Harleys, and drown them out!!! :B)

Phelps and his racist, bigoted church is (sadly) known across the country. :( I met the guy back when I was in college, back at Indiana University -- 30 some years ago. He stood at a prominant corner of the campus, and spewed hate towards anyone that didn't believe as he did. He always stood on a set of steps outside of Ballantine Hall, one of the bigger *auditorium* classroom facilities there at IU. I remember one time ---- Heh heh heh!!! --- A student en route from one class to another, was passing by his *preaching platform*. Said student stopped briefly, then said in a loud voice ----- Hey!! Yer fly is down!!!! Phelps (with his right hand in the air emphasizing a point) -- stops talking, and checks his zipper. Finding it to be *intact*, and the butt of a joke --- He yelled at the back of the student (now on his way to his next class) --- WHAT ARE YOU DOING LOOKING THERE!!!??? He and his crew have been up here in Minney-soda too. Wisconsin actually has passed a law, making it illegal for him and his ilk to *protest* at funerals of fallen soldiers. Yea -- It is a hate-filled church. :( For those who have weak stomachs --- don't go to their site, God Hates America I thought twi was bad. These guys take the cake. :(

OE -- Nope. It's the canoe, and the ALLO greeting!!! (Voyegeur, Grand Portage, bundles of fur, ahhhhh!) ;)
-
Is that his *Delorian time machine* in disguise?? ;)
-
You're right --- and thank you for that last sentence! ;) The *pay to pray* concept has been an ongoing thing in twi, for many years. :( It's called *abundant sharing* there. Go figure. <_<

Herbie -- wasn't that David Duke??
-
Karmic --- welllllllllllllll ----- most of us anyway!
-
Exodus 23:4 --- If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his foot going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again. The OT version of a *flat tire*, I guess! Yea -- I'd help him -- No questions asked either. (but should the occassion ever arise --- I would hope I'm wearing my GreaseSpot T-shirt!)
-
For Freud and Jung --- I don't remember if this was covered on the other thread --- but the name GreaseSpot comes from a saying lcm had about folks who left the way -- "Leave twi, and you'll be a *greasespot by midnight*" (quote/ end of quote) He was forceful enough and domineering enough, that many believed him and stuck around -- not wishing to incurr God's wrath if they left the org twi. :( That was the Craig we knew. FYI. Many left, regardless of his dire predictions. And as you can see -- It's wayyyyy past midnight, and we're doing fine! :B)
-
Jung --- welcome to GreaseSpot. :) Thanks for helping *fill in* things. And Freud -- thanks for re-starting this topic. (As you see, we tend to *squabble some*!) Topics can get derailed pretty fast around here. Personally -- I think you are both on the level. Please stick around and continue! (yea -- I'm curious if Donna is officially his ex too.)

Can't imagine JAL teaching a *meeting*, with no shirt on! (Are you sure about this???) somehow --- I don't think so! (but as usual -- that's just my IMO)

What is that supposed to mean??

Did stopping tithing make it worse for you, or better?
dmiller replied to Eagle's topic in About The Way
I have always given, and continue to do so. Sometimes to a church, but more often than not ------ To an individual who needs help. To me ---it makes more sense to give directly to those in need. ABS (twi style) SUX -- (and you can quote me on that!) If I've got it, and don't need it, and someone else does -- it's theirs. And my life has not been worse, because I don't give 10% to twi, or *the church*. -
Hopefully --- ALL of them. :) (Just my IMO!!!)
-
Well -- for what it is worth --- I've always been on the fringes of CES, but have watched them slowly develop from an *information* based group, to the full-fledged *ministry* (some can read *church* here) that they are today. Personally --- I liked the old days, when they only offered quality teachings, and weren't trying to be *everything twi should have been*, like I see them doing now. Their reasons for the name change (actually) make sense, since they are no longer the Org they started out as. again -- just my IMO.

Did The Way Int'l REALLY promote biblical research?
dmiller replied to Oakspear's topic in About The Way
Wasn't that the fan club of Herman's Hermits??
