  1. Makes you (really) want to think, eh?
  2. The *flying spaghetti monster* . (click the *noodly appendage*). :biglaugh:
  3. Is it a *crime* to swap *cyber-space time* for family time?? Not in my book. :) Allan -- I've seen the pics you posted of your and your wife, and your kids, back on the old forum. Great family!! You are probably proud! (Rightfully so). Did you NEVER quit cyber-space for them?? Hmmm? Shucks -- even Mike has left here for a while to go to work. And all he ever said was *It's not raining here*. And you can agree with that, but not with Sir G who mentions he has a *lot on his plate*? I'm surprised you don't offer to help in prayer. :) It would be much more becoming of ---- ohhhhhh. Never mind. [/color]
  4. Dot -- maybe you can show Cowgirl how to find Politcs & tacs, and she can show you how to find Doctrinal. ;) :) :) :)
  5. Good answer Allan ---->>> Uhhhh --- which question to believe God for? Or is is it *Believe* in an intangible category?? Believe God for what ----->>> For a job interview?, Grandma Interview? Both at the same time? For one side to back down? and give precedence to the other --- and if so -- which one backs down? Methinks Tom Strange has more (practical) advice, than the rest of us here. (Just my IMO).
  6. Reminds me of a quote I heard from Robert Earl Kean, on Austin City Limits. He was talking about how he *used to play folk music* --->> But folk fans invited you over for a dinner of tofu, lentils, and herbal tea. He switched to COUNTRY, when he realized that country fans --->> offered you BBQQQQQQ, and WHISKEYYYYY instead!! I've tried the *tofu* churches, and the *whiskey* ones. And whatever you have found right/ or not, for you -- works for me. :) Glad to have you here.
  7. Is there a way to buy *reverse* tickets, and give them to her -- so she can come to you instead?? ;) (Personally --- I hate to travel by air --- so my question might seem a bit facetious to those of you who do so). But a 96 year old? Is she able to travel? Can she get around, as well as remember things? Could she come to your place instead?? If she's not in a nursing home, or under strict medical care --->> she might enjoy the *adventure*. ;) Just a thot. Meebe not a valid one, but a thot none-the-less.
  8. A set-up for a face-melting for sure. <_<
  9. There's that four letter word again! Arghhh!
  10. Hmmmm. Are those the missing *WMD*'s? --------->>> WOMEN (of) MASS DECEPTION?
  11. Guess they can't use *DRINK RESPONSIBLY* as a tag line for that one, eh?!
  12. AN ENRON PHOTO ALBUM. Peace to his surviving family members.

    Guitar Talk

A true story -- from a Minney-soda Bluegrass Forum, I'm on --- (And I know this is true -- cause I was the *care-keeper* of this dobro, for 4 years! - when Ernie moved to Mexico, from Minney-soda.) And the Roline's are friends of mine. (You won't find this on Snopes!!!) ;) swapping instruments -- Oh My!! :P Ernie (the quoted poster here) is 10 years older than I, but he has the energy of a 30 year-old-something-or-other!!
  14. I cuss occassionally (sp?). but IMO -- it *cheapens* the conversation. Makes a valid point from time to time, especially on the printed page --- but I'm trying to work on a better vocabulary. ;) Staring a person straight in the eye, and saying something *clean*, makes your point quite well -- especicially if you need to get in their face, and do so. (of course ---) It helps when you're tall like I am, and can look *down* to them. IMO --- clean language (these days) is an asset. But you won't find me denigrating those who chose to do otherwise.

  17. Well -- one thing to be said about lcm --- He was no *verbal paraplegic*
  18. Welcome to GreaseSpot! ;)
  19. Hey there Seth. :) I was wondering if this was a group home or not. Thanks for the clarification. My guys at Noumenon House are NOT allowed in each other's rooms. They are free to roam the house, but not to *invade another's personal space*. Good to hear you are having the meeting though. TA needs to know that what he might think funny, others could take offense to, and not just write it off as a joke. Are the staff you mentioned going to be at the meeting? Or do you all as *house-mates* deal with it on your own? And is the president the person who has lived there longest?? (Still unclear about his *title*). Good luck with the meeting, and this issue here. Our house (being through a private company - but subject to state rules), is run a bit different than what you're describing. But we don't tolerate disruptive behaviour at Noumenon either -- especially if it is by one client, and it affects all the others living there. Like you said -- paying rent is part of the provision for living there. If you (or any one) who pays rent there gets intimidated by others actions, something need to be done. Again -- good luck. I hope TA learns, and realizes this. :)
  20. You were a WOW here in '79?? So was I. If I recollect correct, there were 20 of us here that year. 5 *families* of 4 WOWs in each one.
  21. They had that old church (in the west end of Duluth), and lived downstairs in the basement (with their two daughters), And turned the upstairs *sanctuary* into the *Uncle Harry Coffeehouse* Joyful Noise performed there in either '78, or '79. (I forget which now).
  22. That was Gene and Debbie N*sgoda. :)
