  1. No double standard here. She was the woman she knew to be. Unlike her husband, who wished he were the man he knew to be. <_<
  2. Wiilie Nelson's guitar is one of the more *abused* instruments in show biz today. (running second to Doug Kershaw's fiddle bows) --- But whenever he is playing it -- it is all good. :)

    My Eagle Scout

Pirate -- congrats, to both you and Brian. You for being the example, and to him for following through. Short story here --- Friend's of mine have a son, who went the same route. Stellar child, dedicated, knew what he wanted, and was contending for Eagle Scout status. He was interested in fiddle, but didn't have one, and was shopping around town for a cheapie. Aric (his name), asked me to look at one he had picked out. It was junk, and I told him so. Then I got to thinking -- I had 5 here at the house (all decent), and only played two of them. I told him if he wanted, I'd sell him one of mine -- cheap, cause he didn't have much money. He picked out the best of the one's I offered. :( :D Sold it to him for over $200.00 less than I paid for it and he got it for about $250.00. (do they teach *smarts* in the eagle scout program??) Regardless -- he had two parties held in his honor (several/ (many) years ago). One was for Eagle Scout, and the other was graduation from High School. I couldn't make the eagle scout party, but I was able to get to the High School graduation party. I made it a point to apologize to him for not being at the Scout party. Even though both are accomplishments, the Eagle Scout was the more important of the two. Lots of folks graduate from High School -- not so the Eagle Scout Program. We picked a bit during the festivities, and I was sorry I sold that fiddle. He made it sound good, but I'm glad it has a good home. Godspeed to Brian. :) Eagle Scout is an accomplishment that few attain!

Nawwwww -- ED means *Erectile Disfunction*
  5. Hey there Roy. :) That's a long read -- and I'll look at it more completely later, but thought I'd toss in something here. I got invited to another ex-JW board, EXJW, where the conversation is a little bit more, uhmmmm - decent than that found on JWO, and on Thom's. One of the threads going on there is about *announcements*. Announcements (I found out) are when the *leaders* read a letter (from higher up) publically condemning a certain member, and *dis-fellowshipping* them, right there in the meeting at their local Kingdom Hall. Their version of M & A. (maybe this was covered in the article you posted -- Haven't read it all yet.) But the stories of the folks who went throught the M & A (dis-fellowshipping) process, and how it affected them, and their families, loved ones *lost* due to religion, broken families, broken lives, hard choices to be made, don't-give-a-$h!t-attitude by their ORG --- Is damn near identical to twi (sorry for the cussing), where the *big boys* call the shots, regardless of who suffers. Their ORG (and *our* ORG) are interested only in PUPPETS, and they are yanking the string. I feel as sorry for these folks, as I do for those in twi. In the beginning -- they were a lot like us --- wanting to do their best for God/ Jehovah. Zeal got caught up in legalism, and legalism led to slavery. God save us all -- especially from the *ORGS*

And Jonny was a sailor at one time. (sigh). Of all people -- he should remember that; "The greatest carpets in life, come in over quiet squeeze". (woops -- did I quote that right??)

    The Death Clock

Tonto -- If you lay on holy hands -- ya might ressurect *him* from the dead! ;)
  8. Two folks, two *agendas*, two *spiels*, one cloth. :) again -- my imo.
  9. Seems to me, they are *cut from the same cloth*. ;) (Just my IMO).
  10. Railroader II -- welcome to the site! :)
  11. Yep -- docvic did that, while snapping his fingers telling us to sit, roll-over, or beg. (My IMO).
  12. Question (if I may) --- Those *taken* in the day of Noah, were killed/ drowned, eh?? Only 8 souls were saved -- i.e. Noah and family. They were *left behind*, i.e. -- alive. If the second coming is *as it was in the days of Noah*, why would *taken* here mean saved, instead of destroyed?? I'm looking to see if two different words are used for *taken*, and/ or *left*, but so far haven't come up with anything. Just wondering.
  13. Which is fine, as long as that is what they choose for themselves.
  14. It would be a wonderful thing, if adult stem cells could be used instead of embreyonic stem cells (for research). :)

    Thank you ALL

ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!!!!!!! So glad to hear it worked for you!!!!!! (please don't kick me in my knee-cap!!!!)
  18. I have to disagree WordWolf. Wide-margin Bible (yes), Bullinger Companion Bible (no) I have both an (old) wide margin that looks just like that. I have 2 Companion bibles here -- that look NOTHING like that. The entire type and page format is different, one from the other. It makes sense for them (twi) to offer the wide margin variety, so that *students* can write in the *proper doctrine*, as they are being taught in whatever *class* they find themselves. (Just my IMO -- but what they have there, is NOT a Companion Bible. Companion Bible leaves very little room for notes. and definitely no wide margins. ) :)
  19. I find Strong's to be much more compatible overall than Young's. Surprised (no I'm not), that they still promote Young's.
  20. Greasy Tech -- good questions, and I don't know the answer. When a bunch of us were kicked out of the *my space* forums, they said that now classes were taught live, since Craig was in disgrace. Mebee they have re-negged on that??? I don't know. But yes -- yer right -- video -- up front and center. <_< Makes ya wanna go Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!
  21. No Tom, it was a class. There's been at least one (that I know of), run in the past year, and most likely some others I don't know about. What surprises me, is that they actually have a site up, and yea -- now that you mention it -- there are no nametags!! Woooo! I used to get promo stuff from B & R Sage (been around a year now) for the stuff they were promoting down there in the twin cities (mpls./ st. paul). Seems like twi is *alive and well* in the twin cities, at least it is if you look at their *newsletters*, and (now) their website. Mpls/ St. Paul has a host of twi/ ex-twi groups that range from wap classes, to the original pfal (run on a farm -- near Anoka Mn), and the group that granddaughter has been speaking about. It's a smorgasboard of shoots, and off-shoots up here. Wait a minute -- this is Minney-soda. It's not a smorgasboard -- it's a LITTLE LUNCH
  22. THAT REALLYYYYYYY SUXXXXXX!!!!! (I bet the same bozos would've castigated Peter for sinking, after he walked on water too.) Yup -- yer ALWAYYYYYYYYYYS WELCOME AT THE WAY @#$%^&*()_!!! <_< <_<
  23. Seizures are NO FUN. Good work, and quick thinking on your part.
