Uhmmmm -- who ARE the *judges* in this BRC?? (Bragging Rights (for) Cheesecake???)

And as for my 2 cents -- I was born and raised in southern Indiana. Came to Minney-soda as a wow, and never left. Every time I go home (yes -- the south is still *home*), there's a definite change (for me), in the atmosphere. Folks are nice up here too, but there's a difference in the air that I can't quite put my finger on. Folks are a bit more friendly there, life is easier paced, seems common courtesy is more prevelant, total strangers invite you in to be a part of their lives, that sort of thing. Don't get me wrong -- same thing happens to a certain extent here (and I'm assuming all over the US), but it seems more predominant in the South. Slower paced lifestyle that lets you *smell the roses*. Family over career (thanks for that one Evan!) Driving down a country road, and having folks wave to you to come up to the front porch and yak --. Seems there's a greater amount of *ethics*, and less of the *I'm a victim* attitude as well. Yup -- it's a different world. Being accepted is a whole lot easier (imo). Same thing at Bluegrass festivals -- Northern folks will say hi to you, and pick tunes with you, but it's the southern folks that will accost a total stranger walking through the grounds, demanding that you come and eat some of their food they're cooking on their BBQ grill! More polite and giving. Less centered on themselves. Granted (as I said) you find that many places all over the country, but those in the South seem to have made it a way of life.

You mean the War of the Northern Aggression? ;)

Glad y'all had a good time!! THIS IS MY IDEA OF A CONCERT Woops -- This, and This too! (I'm feeling *outta da loop here*!)

No. And I'm betting motorcoaches will not be allowed either. This will be an EX-TWI gathering -- NOT twi. Capisce??

I will be impressed, when twi actually says it's OK to PRAY to Jesus.

Dooj's delusions of grandeur, have caused her to sin by slander. make no mistake, she claims her cheesecake was revealed on gas pumps in November. Rumrunner's cake's named Nuclear Fun cooked by electricity and fusion. with tritinium rods, a gift from the gods you'll be glowing after you eat some. And then there's that fiddler named Dave, who just might emerge from his cave. Acoustics here are good, but the promise of food Is tempting (do I have to behave)?? Think Globally, cook locally -- this warning. Please protect tomorrow's morning. With ovens all heated, the ozone's depleated contributing to Global Warming! So one last piece of advice, (trying to be Minney-soda *nice*) Give it up while yer ahead, and grab instead some BBQ, and a beer on ice. :)

Hey there Oak. WOW!! (no pun intended) -- that's a hefty sked-jule! Even though I was *free wow* (I think that's what they called it in '78), I worked a full time job, as did my (then) wife, and we witnessed when we could. Maybe the criteria was different then -- though I do remember they wanted you to hold down a part-time job rather than full time. We witnessed when we could (mostly alone), but sometimes as a twig also (Bullinger). As far as I can recollect, there was no time limit on being home, or in bed, or getting up, etc. At least if there were such *mandates* -- I never followed them. We got to bed at a decent hour, simply because we had to be at work the next day. Not saying we didn't take the *wow committment* seriously, because we did -- but after our own fashion. And so did the other wow's here that year. 5 families of 4 wow's each were here in Duluth in '78. I think 2 or 3 folks *left the field*, but the rest remained -- and worked out their own schedules as well. It was pretty laid back. None of the *Nazi BS* that would become so prominent in later years. We were never asked to give an accounting of our time (although money was ALWAYS accounted for). It was assumed we were doing it. We ran a few classes that year, met 2 or 3 times weekly as twigs, and once a week as a branch. Even though the wow's were supposed to *do their own thing*, and be separate from the *home believers* --- EVERYONE here in twi became a tight knit family. Folks actually became friends sharing ideas, hobbies, interests, resources, needs, etc. -- just like it SHOULD BE. I remember one time when all of us guys decided to check out the meanings of the word *Faith* one evening, after a branch meeting. The wives (for those of us who were married), were smarter than we were and said "See Ya!!" and went home to bed. We stayed up till 1 or 2 in the morning (BIG POT OF COFFEE ON) doing our *pathetic research*, which consisted of finding the word *faith* in a verse -- and someone saying "I heard so and so say it was THIS". Bingo -- we just figured out another usage in a verse!! But that was the camaraderie that was going on THEN, versus what must be going on NOW. :( I really feel for the folks that sign up now to go wow (WD-40 - whatever it is now called), given their tight collar, short leash, and glaring *master*. (PS -- we WERE told not to witness in bars after 11 PM, since the folks would be too drunk to accept Truth. Having played music in bars -- I can say this might be one of the few things twi got REALLY RIGHT, since the crowd does turn ugly about that time.)

http://www.blogthings.com/whatkindofintell...edoyouhavequiz/ Here are my results --- Your Dominant Intelligence is Musical Intelligence Every part of your life has a beat, and you're often tapping your fingers or toes. You enjoy sounds of all types, but you also find sound can distract you at the wrong time. You are probably a gifted musician of some sort - even if you haven't realized it. Also a music lover, you tend to appreciate artists of all kinds. You would make a great musician, disc jockey, singer, or composer. Yup -- Musician and composer that's me. Great??? NOT!
